Ive quit caring about protecting my watches from scratches or dents.. started to see it as adding character, i wont be selling them anyway. Like you said, the pain is much less when its a pre-owned piece.
Haha. True Thomas! :)
Likewise! Love putting on an already scratched watch!
Apply this method to your cars, give your car some "character"
@@Sam_D i dont go around "giving" my watch scratches or dents either
I love my warn and dented watches, so much so I don't like putting on newer watches as a result
The Globemaster has been one of my favorites; on the blue denim looking strap it really speaks to me.
Yup. It looks very cool! :)
Super enjoyable review. I have a ‘66 Omega Constellation Pie Pan in stunning condition, and don’t wear it when I’m in the shop or yard, but for the most part, I simply wear and enjoy it ! And I wouldn’t mind adding this new version to my collection either.
Uu super piece! enjoy it.
Terrific review. You, sir, are one the best and most comedic of watch reviewers, and truly under-rated! I have a silver dial Globemaster and literally find it to be almost the perfect watch - aesthetically, technologically, all of it. And yes, the scratches only add value. Anyway, keep up the good work, my man.
I also have the silver in bracelet and bought it’s leather strap as well. Or is my favorite watch , you can wear it anytime , with joggers doing errands on the weekend , shirts and pants seeing customers .
Great piece , discrete , beautiful, technological , quality .
haha, Cheers Brian! Enjoy it, killer watch!
The Omega Globemaster is a hidden gem! Its iconic 'pie pan' dial nods to Omega's rich history, while the METAS certification assures top-notch performance. The tungsten bezel adds durability with a sleek look, and its modern size perfectly marries heritage with contemporary style. Rocking it on the Omega Milanese bracelet really makes it stand out. Undoubtedly, it’s an undervalued masterpiece in Omega's lineup! 🔥👌
How can a person get scratches and gouges on the caseback like that? I doesn't make any sense unless the watch was deliberately abused and thrown around against other hard objects.
It can. Mine looks sililar after almost two years of daily usage. Just use a macro lens. And I don't intentionally bang my watches around. I just wear them.
The bracelet clasp is also like that on my 2008 Constellation. The "bottom" clasp is friction-fit while the "top" clasp is released by the dual pushers. It's quite secure and you get used to it after a while.
Im personally a big fan of usage of tungsten carbide. I own several 80s Seiko's with full tungsten cases, not a single scratch in sight! Might pick up one of these globemasters in the future, very pretty package for a daily piece.
Really? They had tungsten cases on 80's seikos? :/ I wasn't aware
@@BraveBeaters yeah they made them from the mid 80s till mid 90s. (All JDM exclusive tho) My favorite tungsten seiko is my Dolce 9531-5090, uses a non decorated version of the 95GS quartz movement.
Thanks for this review, I like the direct style of your videos and your dialect. And I adore the presented Globemaster, which is part of my small collection too. I bought and have regularly worn it without the (in my view too heavy) bracelet, but with all kinds of leather and nato straps. Just make sure, that you acquire some 20mm bent spring bars, since the lugs are - for most nato straps - too short and therefore the space between bars and watch case too narrow. For me, the GM is simply the most perfect watch Omega offers. Dial, geometry of watch case, design of caseback, superiority of movement, lume quality, crown size, lug shape, window frame and size, shape of indices and hands, color shade of the dial (it radiates in direct sunlight but dims in indirect light)... Another comment mentioned the size was too big and that 37mm would be better. With my slimmer 6.8 inch wrists I don't agree. The dial of this watch has to be Pilot-style-large in relation to the reasonable l2l-lenght of 46.5 mm. And a 37mm GM wouldn't house the 8900 anymore, which is the signature caliber of this model. The GM for me is perfect as it is.
Still adore my Constellation Globemaster in blue dial, with both official bracelet and official leather straps!
Alongside my Tudor North Flag, both are my daily durable wears 😊
As ever, great review and camerawork. One careful owner?! Even the medallion was scarred! I'm proud to say, my Sub that did 25 years of diving, marine survey, forestry, farming and mountaineering never looked that bad! How to take care of a watch? Er, not use it as a hammer?! But, the Globemaster... a beauty, for sure, an overlooked gem and DJ beater. Great colour, looks and movement, but definitely a bit thick and maybe still a bit big (for the design). Omega are so close with this watch, it just needs some refinement and resizing (38x11x46?).
You didn't wear a watch for 25 years then. Doing those things you say you did your watch would be thrashed.
@@dsdf_fdp1858 Agreed. The problem is he said he wore it doing all these things for 25 years. It bull crap
I maintain my watches with 4 sided nail polishers and cape cod cloths!! Believe me it works!!! When they are pretty beat up I go to the watchmaker for a deep polished if their surfaces are not brushed. It works!!! Great video!!!
Great video as always... That watch winder looks amazing Bro!
Cheers! :) Pricey as well, but good looking!
A beautiful watch scratches and all!
No way :))
Cape Cod polishing cloths are very good for keeping the shine on polished elements.
True
But only works on watches with mirror finish on case
A watch without any scratches is boring...😉
The Globemaster is my favourite Omega watch, very classy. Unfortunately very expensive as well.
Especially now when Omega increased the prices once again! :/
@@BraveBeaters
I'm out of the race. I had three (new) Omegas over the last three decades. I sold them all. The current prices are ridiculous.
14.9 '22 Annual Calendar is.
You can get a Globemaster far cheaper on the grey market, so that’s not a huge issue if you’re already shopping in that price range. What annoys me is Omega increased their service price from $550 US to $700 for watches like the GM, and $1000 for chronometers etc. before tax, and they recommend getting it serviced every 5 years. It’s like owning a car!
I...can not... funck this! Sorry Andrei, the first 2 minutes were enough for me, can't go further. You won't get any audience retention from me with this video... But still, thumbs up for this horror show!
ahhaahhaah! 4.5 / 10 IMDB Horror show :D
Wow! You managed 2 min!!! Kudos! ;)
The Constellation Globemaster Annual Calendar with the green sunburst dial has a dark green bracelet with the clasp. It’s absolutely a perfect timepiece!
I've had this reference blue dial for some years now but on the Omega blue leather strap with the folding clasp and it's nearly as good today as when I got it new. The watch in the video looks like it's certainly been through some action as the knocks and dings show on the case and the medallion on the case back. To survive these battle scars shows the robustness of the watch as a time piece though. I was tempted to see if I could get hold of the bracelet but to me I think it looks just a tad more elegant on the leather band. Many thanks for sharing BB.
Cheers Anthony! Indeed, a robust elegant watch which deserves our respect! :)
I wear them carefully and sell them on when they I don't like the way they look anymore. The next owner can decide to polish them or not. I do small polish corrections with diamond paste and gentian wood. Or polywatch on cotton swabs if applicable. More than that, I prefer to let them collect until resell. But I also never owned q watch that would sell for more than initial retail. I guess that changes things.
sub ma ri ner :D
Much prefer your review to Teddy Balderdashes and his pristine watch
Real life vs laboratory conditions :)
Damn that's a beautiful watch. I definitely can't afford one so I'm looking at the Oris Propilot X but the Globemaster is just leagues ahead.
Don't worry, You will get it!
Dings and dents are part of your journey and experiences in life as you wear it. As long as it's clean, life is not perfect, buf if theres a chance for a polish, why not.
You can actually unfold the second part of the bracelet simply by pushing it up from underneath with just one finger while on the wrist.
This is one of the nicer pieces in the Omega line up, yet it would look even better with a non-fluted polished tungsten bezel.
She's not old and worn, she's just experienced 😉
AHHAHAHAH!
That’s what he said … :)))
the ones from the 60s are the best
Awesome to see a beaten up luxury watch (i.e. one that has actually been used!)
GLOBEMASTER is my favourite watch. I enjoy it :)
Thanks for another great review 👍🏼 I think Omega doesn't get the respect they deserve in comparison with Rolex. Metas certification is much better and accurate than other ones like COSC or Superlative Chronometer. They test the whole watch and when they test the accuracy of a movement, they do it after the movements have already been installed into their cases, and the tolerance is average of 0 to +5 seconds, that means you'll never lose time and you may just gain a few seconds if at all.
True, the decorations are cool as well, + the magnetic resistance. Cheers!
Tried this on. Loved it previously. Just too heavy and big
has a bit of presence, indeed :)
Pretty sure Teddy wouldn’t like all this “patina” either, despite his love for the Globemaster…but it still looks pretty lush to me👀👍
Hahaha, true!
Lovely... A vintage / modern feels.
True :)
Where did you get that strap? I’m enjoying my opaline/silver version, but would like to add some optional. PS - I agree with your assessment of the case thickness. But otherwise it is a great watch with an excellent dial.
gret video. I'm thinking go getting the black denim for my globemster. One question is when ordering the strap from 7 watches and friends, di you choose curved spring bars? Thanks
Just an educational question @2:51:
I thought the observatory shown on the rear side of the housing is located in Neuchâtel.
That's really cool! Thanks for sharing this info. :)
A very nice review.
Presently it's the only Omega I would want, sadly it's too rich for my blood.
A very beautiful watch. But at
The moment, i'm saving for a certina
Ds powermatic 80, and a certain
Hamilton chronograph you reviewed.
So the omega will have to wait.
Some new certinas are coming up, stay tunned ;)
Nice review as usual 👌🏻..
Cheers Gino! :)
First here. Thanks for sharing your review and knowledge on the GM. V covetable piece of Omega
Noted! Cheers! :)
Mr Beaters.... love the videos .. i especially enjoyed the video about square watches.... well made and narated :-) Cheers :-)
Thank you very much! That was special! More specials to come! :)
Squares rulz! Oh, wait… I hope you mean square Gshocks… :)
Simple. I preserve by just buying a new Casio every time it gets severely scratched or damaged. Works every time.
Hahahaha! This works, I never tried yet :)
@@BraveBeaters and you know the best part? I may get 10x GW-5000U (300$/unit) and still cost me less than the first Omega.
Dings and Dangs...
I wear my watches, not deliberately scratch them, and over time they get weathered down, which thus makes them more beautiful to me (sort of like a well-worn pair of high quality English leather shoes or a leather bag)
..i just dont find it enjoyable when the weathering was done by some other person or stranger. It isn't my own doing or my own story.
I only service them if it’s something that will compromise the watch as a whole, for example, i recently had to service my hesalite DSPH200M even though it had less than a year of use, because i scratched the crystal deeply, I don’t know how it happened, but when they told me that I had to replace it, did not hesitate on the hesalite, because a broken crystal leads to a broken watch (water ingress), and a 50 USD repair, is better than an almost 1000 USD refurbish or rebuy. Mind you, id like to clean the bezel of a T-Touch i have, since it looks like it has been to a war zone, used it since 2015, but apart from that I wear the, non-threatening, scratches proudly
Yes... Sad story with scratched hesalite
I don't really protect my watches (except the one I wore to my wedding) and one of my most beaten up ones is a titanium Citizen. I'm surprised that some of the zaratsu polish is still visible.
Great vid!
You're awesome !!!!
Cheers! :)
Great video! What strap is on the watch at 1:30 of the video?
I would buy it if the case diameter is 37mm and the minute hand is a bit longer…
I experienced difficulty , watching this 😂
Ahahahahah! Cheers, Gabi!
All well mate? :) (now I’m looking for Cornel’s comment….)
@@BraveBeaters Cheers Andrei! Great video as always!
That Globemaster is seriously beaten up. How can someone treat a beautiful Omega like that?
Someone who applies the same "respect" to all of them! :)))
@@BraveBeaters I think you might actually be wearing your watch and not keeping it in a crystal ball...
And i thought Omega had a ugly QC issue.
Patina is fine.
Who’s Teddy?
Teddy Baldassarre, he’s a fairly well known watch RUclipsr.
a small bear :D
I have OCD and had to watch because I have OCD.
Perfectionism maybe?
Was it just abused or not good material?
Where did you get that fabric strap?
Soooo if i need to Bond my way out of being tied up i have a built in cuff cutter.... +1
Wear the watch like you are wearing a watch. Don't worry so much about it.
If you're OCD, this video will annoy you. 😁The reviewer says the Globemaster has an accuracy of -4 to +6 seconds a day. No, it is Metas certified, which means it has an accuracy of at most 0 to +5 seconds a day and probably better. For example, my Seamaster 1948 is Metas certified and has been tested with an accuracy of 2.7 seconds a day. Then there is the complaint that the bracelet doesn't open the way he wants. What? Really? That's a complaint? Just take the bracelet off and switch it around. This guy needs to do better.
I always have to do better!
If you would switch it around the logo will not properly face the wearer. It is a design flaw which was called out. Congrats on your 2.7spd accuracy on your Omega!
Rhodium plated, not radium plated. Hopefully.
i don't understand what he's saying at all.
So he bought a used watch that was already scratched? Or he bought it new and wore it so that he himself scratched the watch? In which case, isn't this supposed to be a 'dress watch'? Even my sport watches doesn't have even 5% of the scratches this watch has. Sheesh his accent and overly convoluted intro and script makes it hard to understand.
Incoherant. Denim looks good tho.
What is the antonym of OCD….? :)
Ahahaha! IUP!
indifferent unexcited peaceful
@@BraveBeaters serenity now!!! :)))
The word you are looking for is "fastidious."
Also if people actually took your advice you’d be forced to buy a perfect one
Ohhhh, a Omega with a Zenith Watch Star🤔
“Im gonna buy the watch with the most specifications of any and I’m not gonna use ANY of them”
I hate people like you. Wear yours how you want but don’t say others shouldn’t want something nice as a daily driver.
And i don’t ever polish something. Only full refinishing. Polishing kills all the definition, even done extremely sparingly.
Rolex does a fluted bezel - Omega: just stop ! jeebus- They can't come up with anything original ?
:)
Thats a long and boring introduction
there is a red bar on the botoom of the video
@@BraveBeaters red light bar….?
Kiedy recenzent robi podczas prezentacji szacownej marki i Jej zegarka z siebie idiotę to jest to rzenujace i niepoważne. Głupkowate miny, wymachiwanie rękami jakby dostał jakiegoś ataku, głupkowate komentarze, etc. Zauważyłem to zjawisko u większości recenzentów. Robią marne przedstawienie ze swoim udziałem, a omawiany zegarek schodzi na plan drugi. Ten pan powinien dawać przedstawienia w przybytku dla debili... Zegarek wspaniały, recenzent do dupy👎
