    I've had my Globemaster Annual Calendar for 10 months now and I love it. Every day when I put it on my wrist I am sold (again). The design is not for everyone, but it always creates great interest when people see it for the first time. Design and technology in fantastic combination - I think😊

    After going back and forth between the Globemaster and the Aqua Terra I purchased the Globemaster (sight unseen since my local AD didn’t have one) and I am sure I made the right choice. To call the dial simply “silver” or “white” understates it’s level of refinement and elegance. The rhodium plated hands shift between an almost black to an almost platinum appearance - very captivating. On strap (my preference) it has a warmer presence than on bracelet. Versus the Aqua Terra the Globemaster leans a little more dressy but in an understated way due to the brushed finish. Perfect for me because I don’t like the high bling finish on many dress watches. I love the fluted tungsten bezel though I have to say that Rolex does this style of bezel better. And the medallion on the caseback is cool and unique. My only issue is that the Globemaster is the most difficult to wind of all my watches because, as was said in this review, it lacks a screw-down crown. But I can live with it.

  • @mountainpeakcloud8442
    @mountainpeakcloud8442 2 года назад +2

    I was gifted this silver dial GM back in 2018 for my 40th birthday by my brother, and it's my perfect watch. Interestingly enough, I also got it on the leather strap first, and then got the bracelet afterwards. My leather strap is more of a dark gray charcoal, verging on black, and really brings out the blackened hands, logo, star and indices in a beautifully graphic way. I do tend to wear it on the strap more than the bracelet, but I love both. I don't plan on taking this in the pool, so I'm not concerned about a screw down crown. It's definitely not the typical Omega people go for... it doesn't have the licensing deals with movies or the olympics, or the connection to space etc., but it ties in to the legacy of what made Omega great in the first place, Omega winning the time trials over and over again. That really speaks to the core and history of the brand, which I feel is appreciated by people who place more value in a time in watch making where the pursuit of accuracy, quality watch making and a subtle yet elevated everyday watch type of design, was at the core of the brands values. This is the only watch I've worn in the passed 3 years, and I don't see that changing.

    • @watchandrew
      @watchandrew  2 года назад +1

      you have a great brother, im jealous!!😁 BUT you are spot on, this watch is enough of a watch to be a 1 watch collection, I love mine and love the bracelet but the leather strap is awesome and great quality when I want to mix it up

    I had to choose between JLC Ultra Thin Master and Omega Globemaster for my 29th birthday and I settled down for the Globemaster. I am still surprised how underrated this watch is, the official AD did not even have it in their list and they were surprised I wanted to order one.

    I love Omega. Hands down, probably my favorite brand. I've gotta say, it broke my heart, when you got rid of the orange and white ceramic, "Planet Ocean." It's my dream watch, really. I do really like the "Globemaster," though. I feel it's a more mature watch, and one of Omega's timeless designs. I own quite a few all/majoraly brushed finish, timepieces. It's a characteristic I seek out in my purchases. I prefer the look of a small amount of mixed finishing techniques, but the fingerprints, and micro-scratches drive me batty. With the scratch resistant tungsten-bezel, you get some of that mixture, without some of the negatives I've described. To me, you've got the ideal "everyday watch." I didn't say perfect, but damn close to it I think. Good for you. Wear it in good health....

    Glad you featured another episode on this. I think a review a year or so on after you get a watch will really let us know what the day to day with it has gone, and I'm really glad you still love it...or love it more. Even better that it was that gift from your parents. I think that's as good looking a bracelet as I have seen and really cool how the taper works in both directions. I guess that is luxury for you? So yeah a bit weird those gaps along the side, but there is always gonna be something. I love this watch. Really happy you do too!

    This and some of the Tresor offerings have caught my eye. Quite stunning, a watch that can be used for dressier occasions with zero fussiness. I’m not one to wear a bracelet, ever, so it’s no issue for me.
    The pie plate dial is too cool. I’ve got a Railmaster with a brushed black dial, typically it’s simply a bottomless only black dial, but at certain angles with directional light, the brushing comes to light and the dial’s color can change radically. A fabulous watch and this is really one that’s got my attention ruin suddenly.
