      I don't know if you would call it reparations but people in different categories did get money from the holocaust. This is for people that are still alive. There were 3 categories of monies you could get. My mother was taken to a work farm to work for nothing. The house caught on fire and the mother wanted her to go in to get something and she wouldn't go into a burning building and her hand was broken and deformed all her life. She got the second tier money and that was $250. Yep, two hundred and fifty bucks. We live in Pennsylvania

      The left in this country is teaching Black kids from a young age that they are victims of racism. When I say the left I'm talking about left-wing ideology in their schools, in the media and all other forms of social communication they surround themselves with. Yes, its a form of brainwashing and it is a shame because it is also designed to keep Blacks from advancing.

I woke up with my deceased mother at 5, separated from my siblings through 13 different foster homes. Abuse during the foster homes (not all were bad) which led me to being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and acute PTSD due to child hood trauma, this was my "white privilege". That was just before I 14, then add typical life in poverty, trying to find your way in this world. I wish I had this spoiled kids "oppression" than my "privilege".

    So slaves were paid reparations, the US does not declare it "reparations" because it was apart of the package that paid slave owners, but every free slave in the US was paid 1 years salary of a skilled trades man. To understand the significance of this, every slave was paid around $340, the purchase power of this is equal to having around 300k USD. This is how so many freed slaves were able to start a business when they were freed. Freed slaves started more business in the 5 years after being free then whiles did in that same period.

    • @houseaccount3293
      @houseaccount3293 Месяц назад +1

      @@u2bAriel Look up the bill that was passed to pay the slave owners, that bill is where the money came from. On the books it is Not reparations as the bill pays the owners, however the owners were required to pay the slaves. To understand the impact of the amount they were paid, you need to research the wages of skilled workers, the best records to find are with universities that have audit records from the government of that time. And they show the average wages of each sector per month, you can then research the cost of good and services, land ownership, taxes etc to get the purchase power of the money they were paid. It is a bit annoying in the sense there is not one source with all the documents and records organized together. And different universities will have different records and you do have to use records from different years. For instance Once records might be from 1859 another might be 1866.

Thank you for speaking up about stuff like this, it brings me so much hope seeing someone around my age who actually does research and has confidence in their opinions. So many young people do not even bother looking into current issues and instead agree with what the leading opinion is, or what will make them look good. It makes me so angry and ashamed. Funny thing about reparations, in England we the taxpayer only finished paying reparations for our part in ending the slave trade in 2015. Which means a large majority of the people paying was black people themselves.

    I totally agree with everything you say. You are a legend! As a black man you worked hard and are now a very successful man, nobody did for you, it was ALL you. If the black community followed in YOUR footsteps rather than bitching about something that happened around 160 years ago that never affected them. It's easy to blame everyone, it's hard to say "MY life is MY fault" That's what is wrong with the black community as well as leftist communities as well as many others. As a white man, I can say with my hand on my heart a big "f*ck you" to anyone blaming ME for THEIR sh1tty life choices.

    My great great grandfather was the oldest living Union Soldier from the State of Utah; he died in 1945 at the age of 100. My ancestors, as far back as I have been able to find, never owned slaves and fought to end slavery. However, my great grandfather, who was white, was sold as an 'Indentured Survant'. When he hit his late teens, he made the choice to run away and find his freedom and the American Dream. This he did!

    Reparations, can be economically given to the descendants of American slavery, and paid for by the companies that were built off the backs of slavery that are still here and thriving today. We could do it in a form of fines, and higher taxes for these companies. When I see people act as if they can't think of a way especially educated people, it makes me wonder...

    I'm pissed,,, in 1025 a raiding party from England came north to my great great great great great, ok a lot of greats grandfather's land in Scotland and raped, pillaged and murdered my people and this went on for over 900 more years. Now I know it's complicated but can anyone suggest what compensation I should receive? Also I feel that because of the rapes, my blood line has been contaminated with the inferior and diluted intelligence of the southern clans that thrust themselves upon my family. My life could be so much better today (poor me, I'm a victim) so it is difficult (diluted blood line again), to determine what level of compensation is due to me right now this moment today. God bless ya all and god bless the superior Scottish culture or what is left of it.

    The Japanese Americans did get reparations from the U.S. government, but that was soon after WWII. That is different than reparations for slavery or Jim Crow laws because of the time since the incident happened, and therefore it was very easy for the government to know who should get those reparations. It would take hundreds of millions of $$$ to figure out which slave ancestors or Jim Crow victims should get reparations, how much, from whom, etc.

    The US already tried reparations. They gave freed slaves 40 acres and a mule and they also shipped some of the freed slaves back to Africa. Those former slaves in turn founded Liberia and enslaved their black neighbors. They also frequently castrated the male slaves before selling them to the Arabs, other blacks, etc.

    I am an Irish/German white American female. My family has never owned a slave as far back as my great-grandparents.
    (I don't know anyone further than that, because my grandparents talked about their parents, but not so much about their grandparents -- but my father's family I can say that my great-grandparents moved here from Germany when my grandmother was young -- I know nothing in my mother's family past my own grandparents)
    My husband was born and raised in the Philippines, he is 100% Filipino and grew up during the Marcos regime. I can guarantee that his family never owned a slave, but some of his family were beaten down, shot at and abused by Japanese occupation.
    Now, we have 4 kids who range from 21 up to 32 years old. Students like the one here are basically saying that they want their fellow Americans, like my children, to give them money for something that they were never involved in and that their family was never involved in. How does that make any kind of sense???

Do people really think that racism would be over if that were the case? That black people in the US would be like, ok, let's all just forgive and forget. We have been given money! Shit no.

    5:00 In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed into law the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 which officially apologized for the incarceration of japonese on behalf of the U.S. government and authorized a payment of $20,000 (equivalent to $52,000 in 2023) to each former japonese detainee who was still alive when the act was passed. note for the detainee not for descendants. there was 1200 japoneses put in camps. And that amount is very different of the amount that they expected that every single blacks person even the ones came as immigrants after slavery and their descendents should receive, i hear california a state that dind´t had slavery want to pay much more than that to every black person. don´t know if the jews receive reparations because of Holocaust or is a myth
