Nice truck! I've got an 85 d150 that was passed down to me from my father in-law. We just got the engine built and put back in. She's got a 360 with a mild cam in it and I cant wait to hear her run!
Love your truck project. I have an '88 D100 I bought new. (yep, I'm old) I did the van lower control arms to lower it now I'm going to remove the 8.25 and put something else in its place. Probably going to be a 9 in. 8 3/4 chrysler housings are non existent in my area. 318 has always been a favorite of mine.
Good stuff, love your truck. I'll be finally switching over to 4bbl on my 318 motor(87 d100). I have a edelbrock performer intake and just received my remanufactured holley 600 street warrior in the mail today. I've got some hedman headers as well. I cant wait to get rid of the smog crap and have been entertaining the thought of doing away with the a/c stuff just to clean it up even more but I'm torn on that lol.
Very well done so far guys 👍👍 it’s really coming along since you’ve bought it .. I’ve followed every video on the truck since you got it !! I’m excited to see a video of it at the track when your ready to take it there !! Finally we’re all getting some nice weather .. we’ve been put in extended lock down till June 2nd due to how bad pandemic is here in my province of Ontario Canada .. I’m looking forward to getting out an burning some rubber at the track as well with my truck after all my mods I’ve done to it !! 👍 cheers guys !!
Looking forward to seeing some track time for her. Ditch the big heavy front tires for something a little skinnier and the wipers and wiper motor. Race trucks don’t need that. Lol. Easier to lose a pound in a hundred places then a hundred pounds in one place.

Like your videos. You're an interesting chap. Two questions. Did you have to modify the steering shaft when replacing the power steering box with the manual? And do these popular auto parts stores have them available?
The 904 family bolts only to small blocks or Slant Sixes, but the 727 family have big block, small block, and occasionally a Slant Six bell housing bolt pattern.
hi like all your videos i have a 1992 dodge Dakota with the 318 i have the 392 rear end gears thats i was told wen i bought this truck are them good gears what is the best gears for the 318 for top end speed 😊
With the overdrive, you will probably run out of motor before you run out of gears, even with the 3.92's. Generally, the lower the number the better the top end - like a 3.21 would give more top end than a 3.92.
I see you removed all of your EGR/air pump nonsense. I have a 1978 D150 with the small block 360, I just ordered a Weiand intake because I think I might go 3rd Gen Hemi with the 727.

your 318 has a 904 or a 727 , someone told me a a 383 will not bolt to a 904 so how did your 318 bolt to a 727
The 904 family bolts only to small blocks or Slant Sixes, but the 727 family have big block, small block, and occasionally a Slant Six bell housing bolt pattern.
Bolt pattern on the bell are different on the BB vs SB. They made small block 904's and 727's. Big Blocks only got the 727.
