According to the indie world presentation, they said you’ll have access to 3 new weapons a heavy censor, daggers and a sword, which is hype cause I have a feeling each weapon will have a different play style
the daggers are actually a duel wield rapier and dagger, which is awesome! these games really do a fantastic job of feeling like spanish games with the world and mythology
The arms of the Pentinent One are wrapped in roots/branches with thorns. I think they are somehow involved in the process of his resurrection. Perhaps the woman at 5:03 is Aurora, surrounded by her children. At 6:16 you can see a man with three wounds. I think these are the Three Holy Wounds from the first game. So maybe this is Escribar or the Twisted One? It will be a very interesting game!
I just want to say that the boss at 5:20 is identical to a drawing in the Blasphemous art book. Thanks to u/JollyLG on the Blasphemous subreddit for pointing this out
Your theory about all Cvstodians being turned to stone as ultimate punishment for worshipping PO who destroyed High Wills is very interesting, great observation! However, I'm still confused about where does the second game take place: in future Cvstodia or somewhere else? Devs website says PO has awoken in "unfamiliar land, far away from his resting place". I have a few throughs about it - in the first game there was a description of a bone that said in reality Cvstodia was always considered isolated, hindward, barbaric land. So perhaps new locations look like "future" not because PO slept for a long time, but because other nations developed far more quickly than Cvstodia. But I'm not sure because it means Deogracias carried PO's sarcophagus across the sea? For what? I also noticed some shift in symbolism. The central theme is still a tree (PO's arm, the Heart in the sky in the ending C that could be a fruit hanging on branches, as some fans pointed out). But I'm mostly curious about water symbol in the new game. The first one ended on the sea shore and starting location (?) in the second one is a church near the sea as well (1:35). And the closing trailer scene shows PO in the middle of a room filled with water and something happens to him (not sure if it's fast travel, but I don't think it's a death sequence. I guess the water serves as "purification" or "medium", like what if PO now can travel to The Other Side at will? That'd be cool) I can also see that art direction changed, the game now has a little bit more resemblance to Castlevania and I can't say for now whether I like this style change or not. But my most important question is still "where is Crisanta??"😆 I loved her character in WoE and I simply refuse to believe devs abandoned her in the sequel when most of fanbase was convinced she was going to be the new MC, I hope she was not shown obviously not to spoil anything or maybe because we will meet her later in the game? Maybe she also turned to statue as the rest? Anyway I just felt to share my thoughts. Thanks for your analysis, great content, keep it up!👍
Excellent comment my friend. We share many of the same questions about the sequel! Crisanta’s absence is by far the most interesting detail to me so far!
I have two suspicions: 1) that the Penitent One wakes up in the Dream and is journeying to the other side; 2) that he was actively cursed from crossing into the Dream again, thus his return.
Each weapon will have its own abilities that will help The Penitent One on his journey The dual swords provide attack speed, air dash and teleportation between the portals. The Cense "or flail" can work as the Bell Ringer which reveals the silver steps and this may replace the blood perpetuated in sand relic from the first game The large cleaver is probably the weapon with the highest damage. Anyway I enjoyed your theory and it added even more info than I was going to add on my channel. You're the best brother
Thank you my friend! I am not sure why, but this comment was "held for review"... I guess being too nice is a bad thing! LOL I'm looking forward to seeing what unfolds in this new chapter! I will do my best to cover the convoluted lore of the Penitent One's journey to end the cycle once and for all! Penance Never Ends...
The weapons used by the penitent seems like a rapier and dagger combo. If each of the new weapons has a skill tree like the Mea Culpa had in the first game i wouldn't be surprised if the rapier and dagger have unlocks centered around defense and counter attacks, the broad sword looking weapon having a even balance between offensive and defensive capabilities and the mace having the strongest attacks at the price of limited defense.
The environments look great but I'm still not sold on the character models, some of them still need a lot more polish, detail and creativity. It's sad that one of the major pixel artists left the team, his absence is definitely felt. I love that the PO can now fight with multiple weapons, mine are definitely gonna be the sword and dagger combo. I can't wait to know and see more of this sequel, especially the story, I want this game to be as good as the original.
Exactly what I thought. The Skeleton Monk doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the art style, it's too clean. I really hope this will be worked on. Besides that, I'm totally hyped!
That was a great analysis and you must have worked hard to get this out so soon. Thanks for your efforts ....I can not wait for this game, the first is a masterpiece
Based on the scenery changes and new characters, I have a feeling the new game is in France or some other part of Europe! I also got the Mea Culpa tattooed on my arm and feel like I need to get more stuff from the new game...
I thought for sure the Penitent One would be the heart of guilt. But no, its the accumulation of everyone's guilt/ belief in The Old Miracle to create a new Miracle God that's not the Penitent One.
why are indi games so diabolical or like demon and hell based? like most games i have seen in the indi metroidvania or sidescrolling style are in that area.

Rather than petrified, I would say that the arm was has been "woodified". Makes sense, considering the symbolism of the trees in the previous game.
Petrified wood you could say.
It’s the thorn from the first game, no?

That's a reference to a sculptor who created The Christ of Honey.

Yead that boss was cut from Blasphemous 1

Thank you for the analysis, game looks truly like a work of art.
“Somehow, the Penitent One returned”
Nah that new age star wars trash has no explanation. I'm sure there will be lore on how and why the penitent one has returned.
I'm shocked too
Penitent one is slowly turning into a tree, maybe he'll become the next Ten Piedad😅
It's more like the first good ending of the game
I'd love some more Blasphemous lore 😀
I’ve got a few ideas!
Same… I need something to hold me over until late summer 😂
I got you covered!
Omg ! I didn't know they announced blasphemous 2...until I saw an ad showing the trailer.
One of my favourite games. Can't wait for it
I have two suspicions: 1) that the Penitent One wakes up in the Dream and is journeying to the other side; 2) that he was actively cursed from crossing into the Dream again, thus his return.
The "hammer" weapon reminds me the incense burner Catholics swim on a chain during mass.
I couldn’t recall the name while making the video, but these are called censors!
4:30 actually this scene reminded me of the keeper of the ossuary. I wonder if this will be another boss resurrected from relics.

I wonder what happened to Crisanta of the wrapped agony🤔
I find her absence INCREDIBLY interesting…
@@TheInhumanOne I was actually expecting her to be the next Penitant one we control
I honestly believed that Crisanta was going to be the main protagonist for the sequel before I saw this trailer.
The environments look great but I'm still not sold on the character models, some of them still need a lot more polish, detail and creativity. It's sad that one of the major pixel artists left the team, his absence is definitely felt.

Who left? Juan or Nerkin?
Dang! I hope those two are still on the team! They were incredibly talented!

@@ynnn991 It's the skeleton and also the "blacksmith" enemy. They definitely need a big rework.
Still hoping for the best though. xD
I love your videos man, please keep making them!
5:32 Yoshikage Kira's religion must be like:
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭 exactly
for some reason, 2 days ago, I thought about how much I liked this game and searched if a sequel was coming... and the boom, a new trailer haha
Don’t you just love when that happens?
That was a great analysis and you must have worked hard to get this out so soon. Thanks for your efforts ....I can not wait for this game, the first is a masterpiece
Was wondering when you were going to upload this video once the trailer came out.
I made sure to post it day one! 😉

His arm turned to wood like the Twisted One. Not stone. It's very obviously wood lol

Bro, could you make a series of videos explaining the full lore and story of the first game??
I already have! Check out my pinned comment or the link in the description.
