the little boot on the shoulder?
Also, i’ve seen a lot of videos referring to the time between the beginning of this game and the ending of the previous one in vague terms, only recognizing it was probably very long. However, the first achievement you get in the game is titled “1000 years later”, which i think is a reliable confirmed time period.
Very neat! I play on the Switch, so I don’t get any achievements. Those are usually a solid source for lore!
And no. 😂 That’s not the Easter Egg.
Is it the Mea Culpa sticking out from the thumbnail's border on the right?
@TheGoodDonol Perhaps you mean the left?
Both games tell me one thing.
The Miracle isnt its own thing.
Its a manifestation of a person's will.
And the corruption of a humans will by other humans, missguided desires, and a lack of understanding.
You get a gold star!
A small misconception - the man with the 3 wings isn't the Child, it's its own character - the Witness. If you look closely at the cutscene of the second regret, you'll see him acting as the midwife for the woman birthing the child.
Other than that, pretty good work!
I was wondering why they had a different hairstyle and hair color !
He doesn’t have three wings, he has one giant wing coming out from his chest (it just curls behind him because it is so large).
yeah this was a bit confusing for me too, but he's always referred to as "the witness" so yeah, he's not the child
Ah so with the High Wills gone it was desperately trying to survive, a last ditch effort to return to its former glory. Then if we do everything right, we fully kill off the miracle freeing the world.
The penitence has ended.
With the high wills gone WHAT was trying to survive? The high wills are the same thing
@@traviscurbelo2000 they are separate beings the high wills were just controlling the power of the miracle
@@traviscurbelo2000the miracle and the will are different beings
As stated they are separate, the miracle served the “high wills”, without the three the miracle didn’t know what to do it had no new commands and it drew its life from them so it tried to stay alive by making something that could replace the “high wills” as it was slowly but surely dying without them.
I find the Good ending for The Penitent One very fitting, as he was given the greatest reward for completing his penance and saving Cvstodia for good: He was assumed body and soul into heaven.
its not heaven, its "the canvas of light and time". Its basically "history". the whole point of Blasphemous is that there is no god, no heaven and no trascendental will behind existence.
@@saifernandez8622 Your comment doesn't make any sense! The what was the penitent atonement for? and to whom?
Where is the canvas of light located? who created it? and why r only some chosen people there?
Who creat
Truly impressive how we can have a happy ending in a game such as Blasphemous.
When the Miracle answered the couple’s prayers it was either : I’ll give you a baby…..oops, I messed up. Sorry guys I tried.
Or the Miracle was like: I’ll give you a baby….Ha! Psych! I’m back!
Something just doesn't sit right with me that after we commited all this blasphemy and opposing gods at every turn, that we are just welcomed warmly into some sort of heavenly paradise. I like Blasphemous 1 for having 2 bad endings, one more fulfulling than the other, but you don't finish on an optimistic & cathartic note, like the sequel.
Maybe it is because the Penitent one didn’t hesitate or relished in his penance, as some does in their misconception of what penitence is about. The goal is not the pain or the acknowledgement of your sinner condition and the reminder of your guilt.
The whole point of penitence is to expiate your sins through the suffering of the flesh and the soul. But there has to be an expiation at the end. Penitence is meant to end.
So, yeah, he had to commit blasphemy to fulfill his penitence, and that’s why it was the heaviest weight a devote could carry. But since it was the Miracle itself who called him to do so, as a faithful penitent, he would no doubt and complete it. Even if it means to commit blasphemy.
@@JaleaMagneticaI thought it was jocinero who revived the penitent one not the miracle itself. The first game had traitors all over in the ranks of the grievous miracle that was controlled by the high wills. Jocinero was a saint of the miracle just like the "traitor". There is a reason why jocineros minions are locked in cages all over the game and you have to free them. Also when you die it's jocinero who revives you at a checkpoint.
The sad part is that there wouldnt be a Blasphemous 3, but I do not believe the Miracle is dead, maybe there will be another penitent in another city that also needs help
The Easter egg of the thumbnail is that it says “blasphemous,” a not so obvious reference to the hit 2019 game Blasphemous.
🤔
I genuinely hate how dumb I am to understand all the lore and genius behind this story
I totally get you I barely found out about this game and I feel like a big dummy but I feel if we focus we'll understand 🤟🫰
The music for this game is just phenomenal. Several moments just spent sitting and listening.
Indeed.
Congratulations! Your pronunciation is excellent. You did your research well and you seem to respect the game and lore. Liked and suscribed!
1:36 “but for now, consider your penance, one of patience”
NGL that sent a chill up my back. What a one liner, and suitably in theme with the game. Instant sub.
Great video! I've watched several Lore videos on Blasphemous 2 but I'm surprised that none mention the Penitent One's new hand and the executions he can perform with it. Like...is he fused with the Twisted One or is he slowly turning into a Tree while he was Dead? Does anyone have any ideas or is there something I'm missing? Please let me know!
My theory was that with the body having been dead and gone it would have withered away throughout the ages, and the manifestation of roots and branches sprouting from their body was the miracle implementing appendages where the Penitent One had lost them. Having said that, the Miracle continues to resurrect PO back into a healthy form regardless of how they die so the theory up and dies with that 😅 Perhaps it's a means to push past the human limitations?
@@kcop1882 doesn't sound like a bad theory. I have been thinking about it and read some other theories that say it is the influence of the twisted one based on the true ending of Blasphemous 1 where Mea Culpa dissappears and the twisted one reaches for the Penitent One. Also (Spoiler if you haven't had the "good" ending in Blasphemous 2), the twisted one is right behind the Penitent one in "Heaven" which kind of tells me that he was our Heroe's number one supporter throughout his adventures. Plus, another theory mentions the Thorn in Mea Culpa in 1, contributing to the growth in 2.
Thanks for the nice video, nice spanish pronounce. I hope more videos will be released in this series which I already love, some points are missing... like Crisanta and the key holders but I imagine they will be released soon
Definitely more lore videos to come that will cover each of the bosses and of course Crisanta! I've got a special video for her coming next!
Wow wow you already beat it ? haha saving the video for when i get off of work
I’ve beaten both games multiple times and I still watch these videos and feel like I’ve never played them
Both games seem to work along this idea of a kind of ham fisted series of attempts toward divinity. From the people praying for punishment as piety and ascension, to the higher powers attempting to meet that child like desire for absolution from their mistakes… it’s all just so child like. As if they are all just children, the godly creatures as well. The desire to act and to accrue, and the consequences thereafter being so much stranger than first thought. It is a wish interpreted by those too simple (too young) to understand or meet.
Thanks! I think this is awesome game, I'm addicted to it like to the first game! But I feel strong lack of that cold feeling of despair and some crazy lore stuff like Jondo or location of vertical graveyards. Music sounds too cute at many locations and I hate those terrible lasers at "Two moons", some bosses look like they have great idea but more grotesque details are needed. :)
I Just feel that this game is much brighter which is for worse in my opinion because it kills that grotesqueness which wakes Your imagination and makes You wonder.
Perhaps it wasn't as grotesque because the influence of the High Will was gone for the most part?
And yeah...the lasers were kind of out of touch..I'm sure they could have used something much more fitting..
May be it's true but more grotesqueness would be better for game's art style. Any way hope You having a great time with this game too.@@Zye1984
Yeah, I kinda miss the grotesquely ill proportioned locations, everything feels very...normal and scaled
No gigantic inverted bell, no massive Monastery strew with the corpses of hundreds of silent penitents, no wasteland of buried churches
I guess the in game lore does give an answer, in that the High Wills no longer push people to make insane acts of devotion, through architecture or suffering ,and the setting itself has normalized quite a bit, with the super religious nut jobs holing themselves up in ancient structures, unlike in the first game where even relatively normal people like Tirso felt the touch of the miracle
Very true, I agree.
I dunno, I felt like the game has a similar vibe to the first one. Especially with the bosses and NPCs but I do have to agree on the music. Which I think it's usually why it makes the game feels "lighter" and not having that despair feel.
I feel like the second game is an interesting as the first one. It also doesn't have alot of twists or deep lore. I don't think the game ever explains who the divine messenger is or why she is really helping the penitent one. Also why didn't any of the other divine beings answer the couples prayers instead of the miracle?.
It will definitely be addressed in the next game
@@Cormano980or DLCs down the line like the last game. I have a feeling shes gunna be a boss of her own for a 3rd ending
I feel like the potential dlc will have an expanded ending to the ending where we go to heaven.
I have one question though: Why does burning the statues, and creating the incense, prevent the Incarnate Devotion from realising the reason of his birth?
The incense itself didn’t affect the Incarnate Devotion at all. He was simply unable to recall or understand his purpose because he was born into obscurity due to the influence from the late High Wills. Depending on if you obtain the true ending, or the default ending the outcome of the battle is slightly changed and he assumes the results support his initial theory and reason for his birth.
@@TheInhumanOneWait dosen't the insence give to whomever have it complet authority or something? Hence why when you give it the child isn't able to understand his meaning?
I wonder if burning the four statues means having received total absolution. faced with a new Son of Miracle born to unite all faiths, the sign of total absolution silences the voice of high wills, once again defeated. the miracle incapable of acting in the face of such absolution does not understand the meaning of existence and dies. did I get it right?
Please do lords of the fallen and the last faith!
Doesn’t the game itself say the second game takes place a millennium later? From the achievement after defeating the Faceless One?
Yes. I play on the Nintendo Switch, so there are no achievements to reference.
Nice🎉
Hey! Thanks for watching my friend!
I have been waiting for this video. My penance is now complete, I can finally rest.
And thus, your penance of eternal patience has come to an end my friend.
But if the Miracle is "evil god" and the final boss is "ignorant (and somewhat evil)" jesus, then who is the one who takes the penitent one to the sky? Who is that floaty woman, where does this "blessing and light" come from?
The penitent is truly the honord one
Congrats on the correct pronunciation of all the spanish names, from a spaniard
Desde un hispanohablante a otro, estoy agradecido de leer comentarios come este.
Where is the painting of the high wills at 0:30 from?
Thnx for sharing. But what is the Miracle?
Exactly ı am asking the same question is there really answer of it
Blasphemous 1 was better. Boss design and story telling was the 2 main points. Sequal is good dont get me wrong but 1 was definitely better.
The final boss has some pink squiggles on their right cheek and side of neck. I haven’t played the game, so I’m guessing it’s worms of some sort…
They're pink flower petals falling from the sky
Is the miracle evil or unknowable?
The Miracle is a bastard.
Jackass Genie with no tangible form (at least not anymore).
But this miracle is the same of blasphe 1?
Yes
@@TheInhumanOne and is the incarnate devotion the miracle or is just his son/creation?
@@galogalaxy3340The Child is a creation of the Miracle; a last ditch effort by the high wills to return themselves to power.
@@TheCorrodedMan but the high wills did not die in blas1?
@@galogalaxy3340 They did, but in their dying moments they gave flesh to a being they had been creating before the Penitent One turned against them. The Child is the true Last Son of the Miracle, because it was the last order the High Wills ever gave the Miracle as its masters. That’s why the Child is so confused after birth; he’s searching for the High Wills, his Fathers, so he can find meaning in his life. But they’re silent.
Hey you been on a break?
Hey! No, I've just been waiting for this string of new games to come out that I had my eyes on for a while. I post almost daily over on my @InhumanLIVE channel though!
