I am of the OPPOSITE opinion. I think the only salvation is if Mr Mara steps up and takes FULL Jerry Jones-style control. Look at the Cowboys. They CRUSHED the Browns. Everyone is signed. CD Lamb and Micah Parsons are Canton-Bound All-Time greats. And Dak Prescott was a FOURTH ROUND PICK and is now a star. All because Jerry Jones runs a "War Room" Draft apparatus with tremendous success.
When will Mr Mara ditch Schoen and Daboll is the only question left? For one thing Schoen embarrassed Mr Mara and the NYG Organization on Hard Knocks and Schoen directly disobeyed Mr Mara's explicit instructions to NOT let Saquon go, and especially NOT TO THE EAGLES.
Mara wanted to keep saquon. Ppl get on him for interfering or not interfering with the team. Shoen and daboll were successful in buffalo, and everyone in the fanbase praised these hires.

Daniel Jones has 38 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in his last 5 seasons (albeit the 5th season is only one game old).

Daniel Jones isn't cooked because he never was cooking period. He got paid because of the guy that we let go because we paid DJ too much. I still can't believe that Mara and gang wanted to have the next Eli or Simms so bad they mortgaged on a 15 touchdown ,lucky to see a 300 yard game qb. You can't scheme talent he is just terrible, even when the whole team plays like garbage Maholmes still finds a way to win ,make them look good. I don't care what they spent on him ,please the fans and give us a better qb to look at ,PLEASE! They had a chance to get people like Milton, Travis etc I mean what are we doing? We keep drafting people we don't even use. Saquon wasn't the problem then, but Saquon IS the problem now because Schoen let him go to the hated Eagles, of all teams. Saquon will be the problem when the Eagles host the Giants in PHI and when the Eagles roll into MetLife riding their 1st Place position, while we sit there and wonder if we will have the 1st or 2nd Draft Pick.
Saquon WILL be the problem in the Pro Bowl when he starts for the NFC wearing an Eagles helmet and we will have Dexter Lawrence and our ridiculously overused Punter Mr Gillan as sole Giants representatives. Think about it. If we don't turn the ball over, we will use our Punter on almost every possession, except for the infrequent FG we will occasionally get. I hope Gillan has a "per-kick" clause in his contract for his sake.

It was obvious to me, a non-football expert, that Daniel Jones is not an NFL-quality quarterback. This was obvious to me in the middle of his second year in the NFL. Now it seems that all the experts discovered this after week one of his 6th season in the NFL. How did nobody notice this? It was insane to draft him in the first round and 50x more insane to give him the contract he got.

I imagine it stems from whether you are a pessimist or an optimist.
From my perspective, throughout all of DJ's career there have always been excuses.
There are a countless number of them but they were all real and all valid.
He even had valid excuses in 2022 to play poorly but ended up playing fairly well (not great by any stretch but fairly well).
This was the first time I could watch the game unfold, watch how Jones played and easily say, there are no valid excuses for this. He wasn't under constant pressure, the talent level opposing him wasn't top notch, he had guys open, he just couldn't function at all and it was all on him, no excuses for what we saw.
So it's basically the optimists saying, yeah even our patience has been stretched beyond it's limits and there is simply no hope for DJ and Giants going forward.

It’s not just the talent that Jones has or doesn’t have, it’s the fact that he is simply not a leader! He doesn’t look like one, he doesn’t act like one, and he doesn’t play like one. The reason the players around him also appear to be incompetent is because they are playing off of Jones’s vibes and energy, and there simply is none. You can take good things out of every single player that puts on a uniform, but this experiment has gone on for six god damn years now and the fans have simply had enough. It doesn’t help that the coaching staff and all others above them also appear to be wildly incompetent, but when your face of the organization plays like he did yesterday after six years of bad play and poor excuses I think it’s time to call it quits on the guy. Daboll and Shoen are also going to be in danger of losing their jobs if they let this season implode and I hope they realize that. All I know is there is no way that what we saw yesterday can be considered an NFL level team, there’s just no way. They may very well be the worst team in the entire league, and people like Tiki need to stop making excuses and admit that Jones needs to go like now! I honestly don’t care who they replace him with at this point. They need a different leader to give the team as a whole a different vibe and energy and an almost “starting over” feeling. You can't have a running game when they load the box bc they don't respect the passing game. The defense gave them a turnover near the redzone after the offense failed and then they failed again, kicking a fg after having a goal to go series from the 5! And then can't move the ball after the vikings scored with the help of a bs PI call.
Jones was inaccurate on 5 yard passes. Why would he throw downfield. Hes always been the checkdown guy. It blows my mind that people think he will be different now. Barkley was the offensive spark and thats clearly gone. He needs to be cut now.

Jones cant read a defense and he stares down his first read and if its covered he panics. Every defense in the NFL has figured him out. Hes limited, VERY limited, not physically, but mentally. In his 6th year, if he hasnt figured these things out hes not going to. Defenses just take away his first read and then the whole defense is just waiting for him to panic and try to be the one who benfits from it via sack or int. last year that Seahawks rookie...ROOKIE....figured Jones out about how he stays on his first read too long. That is why he got the int. He watched the tape and figured out how simple Jones is. He is playing worse now, worse than he ever has because everyone knows him now.

Tiki, As a long-time Giants fan, I respectfully implore you to reach out to John Mara and request a meeting. Of course you are a legendary NYG, but you also now hold a unique position of being a WFAN host AND a Giant's Legend. You are not a private citizen with an opinion. So many of us admire and respect you and of all people I could ever think of, you are uniquely suited to represent the NYG Fandome Family. What I am asking is simply that you ask Mr Mara to take full control immediately, before this disaster devolves into a completely chaotic situation.
Simply put Tiki, I am suggesting that while many detractors suggest that Jerry Jones becomes less "Jerry Jones", John Mara MUST become much more Jerry Jones in exerting absolute control. To give credit to Mr. Jones, who is obviously an astute businessman but has been criticized over the years for his GM shortcoming, yesterday's Cowboys performance was impressive on the road in dominating a good Browns team. But, it was apparent that between Dak Prescott, CD Lamb and Micah Parsons, the Cowboys roster is settled, contracts are accomplished and total focus is on the field. By the way, Dak Prescott was selected in the FOURTH ROUND by the Cowboys famous "War Room" led by Mr Jones exerting final decision control.
Whatever we do, the NYG CANNOT allow the failed Schoen/Daboll Regime to pick "The Next Giants QB", as many have suggested. Instead, please implore Mr Mara to create his own NYG "War Room" under his ABSOLUTE control and bring the long-suffering loyal NYG fans something we can all be proud of.

I like Daniel Jones and I think he has/had talent.However since the neck injury he has lost his confidence and coupled with all the hits he has taken , he has been playing not to get hurt andnot make mistakes and that has led to very poor play. I dont think he will recover from this,and its to bad, he was a #1 draft pick and we never protected him properly.....

It's possible that this latest leg injury has sucked away what little confidence D Jones ever had. Along with other shortcomings, he now has leg panic (QB afraid to have his legs hit). This is the worst symptom for an NFL QB.
His confidence is shot for sure.
I was in Miami last year, prior to Jones injury and have himrecorded panicking on a screen play when two rushers were coming straight at him. He threw the ball at a player that had fell to the ground near the scrimmage while he had Waller feet from the player to the right with blockers. Total panic when the pressure is expected or couldn’t react naturally.
If you want to say he hasn’t played since the ACL, I sure hope you also said he should have taken pre season reps

Did anyone else see Jones during the post game presser scratching like Tyrone Biggums when asked specific questions he didn’t want? A bunch of “We” and not enough “I”. Capable and confident QBs can and will give you a breakdown of what they did wrong and need to improve on. He seen the tape on the side and has no excuses for not answering.
He didn't have a "wonderful" year in 2022. He had a decent season and parlayed it into a bigger payday than his numbers warranted. His agent is his MVP.

I've defended Daniel Jones on RUclips and X for six years and I was very disappointed yesterday because he gave all his critics and haters enough ammo to wipe out a country. I would love to see Daboll do like he did his first year and chew Jones out on the the sidelines and don't give a fuck how many cameras are on it and what it would look like to the media. Daniel Jones needs to show a mental toughness which I thought he had developed with everyone saying he sucks for six years but that performance Sunday was worthy of a High School QB and if he doesn't show he really wants to be the QB of this team then get the fuck out and go somewhere because no other team will want him.

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone with these analysts. Daniel Jones has always been this bad. They got rid of Saquan and added Malik which means Danny will have to pass. If the Giants win DJ will have to throw 30+ times and get 1-2 passing TDs per game. DJ has always been this bad, the best season they had with him was when they had him stop passing.
