“i want to get out of bed and do this all over again” i- this makes me want to go out and live my life while i can instead of staying in my room and doing nothing all the time
I’ve been around since the beginning of RUclips and to this day this is still one of the all time most memorable, impactful videos I’ve ever watched on here. The reflections on life, time, age, youth, passion, joy, memory, purpose, meaning… so many thoughts inspired in my mind just by observing this beautiful woman reliving moments from the glory of her past.
You can pick her out because, even at 102 years of age, she still looks soooooo much like herself when she was young. What a beautiful, beautiful lady!
I think, as she was watching with a serious face, that she was remembering the choreography and all the things you have to pay attention to when you perform: where your space is, what the musical cue is, the blister in her shoe, how the dancer next to her was moving into her space, like that. Dancers like this make it look like you just get up and shake it and have a great time, but she was remembering all the elements that you attend to as a professional. Wonderful video, thank you.
If I'm old enough I'll have to go and spend my time with someone I really care for... Hopefully my grandma is the closest to me now... Oh and this lady had a very wonderful life, she was always happy no matter where she was at! God bless her heart 🙏💓
I hope I die young.... about 60's... I'd hate to have to live to see my fiends and family die around me. I would want to live a life with nothing to do...
@@survivalhick6125 My grandafther is 89. I see him every week, and he is very healthy for his age. However, what you just described is exactly his case. Over the years, more and more friends died, till eventually, he was all alone...My grandmother died 4 years ago. They where married for 60 years. He never loved any other woman. When she died, half of him died as well. He's extremely healthy and intelligent, however it is obvious he is suffering very deeply. He lived a full life. Lived long enough to meet his great grandchildren...but life is always suffering, no matter how old. I'm going to follow in his footsteps. I'm going to try and live as long as I can so that my children and my childrens children have me around for a while longer, like I have my grandfather.
What a great & sweet thing this man did. What a sweet lady she seemed to be. I'm glad she had the opportunity to see herself and relive those memories before she passed. Like she said, she got paid to do something she loved doing. I bet she had a blast doing it all too. Life is fun when you enjoy your work. Not many of us can say that.

My husband saw this and said he believes he had Alice as a patient when he was an EMT in NYC when she was 90. He remembers how pretty she was then and, even though injured and alone for 2 days, she made no fuss, casually sharing how she pulled herself along the carpet and up on her couch and didn't call anyone because she, "didn't want to be a bother. " She lit up as she told him of her career as a dancer and who she performed with, She had the same beautiful smile and shining eyes. She was so independent !
@@mvvpvals - It is a little hard to tell with the quality of the old footage, but she looked like she was well below 30. She looked maybe around early to mid 20's at the latest at the time.
RIP beautiful ALICE... To see yourself in black and white film dancing is such a blast from the past. And I'm sure she died in peace knowing that her family now believes her knowing she was truly a star back in the day. So actually she reclaimed her star status with her family and friends right before she passed. Rest in peace Alice. Such a beautiful woman . 💃🌹

Agreed, although a statement by the channel of the video was made recently implying she has died as of now, I think this is collective knowledge brought up from someone who experienced this being young

This was special. It's good for the WORLD to see an unique experience where an 102-year old woman can see herself on film, where her 20-30 something year old self is dancing and talking...just amazing. The years between the events are staggering. Possibly 70 years. What a beautiful woman, even in her death. She lived LIFE well.
I don't think it's sad at all. There's no reason to believe they didn't die of old age surrounded by their loved ones with reunification with their husbands on their mind. Death is natural. What greater fate can someone ask than to die peacefully at a ripe old age with those you care about at your side?
95TurboSol She is someone I would love to simply sit and listen to what she has been through. She has such a wealth of living history in her life. WW1, WW2, End of slavery for her parents, The Harlem Renaissance,The Great Depression, several presidents. Yes, she has much to tell

@@limoncita08 no it can still be nostalgia if you had a great time back then and your life sucks now it's nice to think about it for a moment but then it hits you... You know you won't experience that and that feels horrible
It's crazy how much she still looks like her younger self, even what is probably like 80 years later. I'm sorry for her passing, but grateful I got to see this video... even if it was 5 years after the fact.
She is shaking so much, and every time she raises her arms, and then they shake....it hurts to see her body suffering, but Im so happy to see her spirit still staying strong.
It's so crazy how bodies change and how they carry us through all these episodes of our lives, a whole century in her case. But her smile stayed the same.
So sad to think everyone in the dancing videos are dead….yet we are seeing them on this video in their youth, so young vibrant full of life. Life is crazy.
Great lessons from this kind soul. Enjoy your youth and mobility, keep it as long as you can. She lived a longer life than many of us ever can dream and she did it her way. God bless and her memory lives on through videos just like this one.
I wish we could all realise that the person inside the old, worn out body IS THE SAME PERSON who was inside the young beautiful one. We make such assumptions about people based on appearance and our own prejudices. I love how she lights up when she's watching her young self.
Until my parents have grown older and I grew more mature, I got comfortable over time as they and all elders aged. I’m not sure if it’s prejudicious but rather, not being around our elders and feeling uncomfortable around them because we feel we can’t relate. We, too, will age and hopefully we can have the younger people so kind like this. Our dad passed away last year at the age of 84 from Alzheimer’s. However, he was verbal and could remember things from when he was a boy. I was honored to have been with him at the end to hear stories I never knew. RIP
This makes you realise that the old frail person you brush by in the street without a second thought was once as young as you are. Life is short and you only get one shot so get out and enjoy the world because once you're gone you're gone for good!
Esse, can't you read? Kenshiro said you only have 1 life, then Arobain said unless you is a christian, then I - a christian - said Amen to that. You dig?

I think, as she was watching with a serious face, that she was remembering the choreography and all the things you have to pay attention to when you perform: where your space is, what the musical cue is, the blister in her shoe, how the dancer next to her was moving into her space, like that. Dancers like this make it look like you just get up and shake it and have a great time, but she was remembering all the elements that you attend to as a professional. Wonderful video, thank you.

RIP
