@@GenuineGents I can imagine some reasons. I, for example, am only 19, and I love suits, but the need for one right now is not high. It is too expensive to splurge on when my body is still changing. (I do own a suit, but I do not think highly of it since it's a big large :( )
Me too, mostly money issue. A full canvas is a better investment but i cant afford rn

A dark grey suit can also be insanely versatile if styled nicely
Everyone wears blue so i only have one that I rarely wear. Shades of grey I've found to be crazy versatile for me
While I disagree with their views on black suits my when I have a fitting grey one it is my go to much of the time and is my personal favorite
@@aspetty it's not just "their view" though. Black is accepted by everyone who knows anything about traditional menswear as an evening-only suit color.
@@SuluCandles1 ...unless you're Tom Ford. But generally your statement is correct. Black is for Funerals and the evening. I'd argue that it's especially out of place for business and cocktails.
If you want to go black just go full casual with the typical black and white hoodies and sneakers, there’s no place for black suits in classic traditional daywear, it’s for funerals, evening wear or Morning Dress (because it’s the pinnacle of daywear formality).
We love you, Preston. You, Raphael, and Kyle are truly the most sophisticated men left in this barren wasteland of a "fashion scene" that we have today. Every time I get to see you on the channel brings me happiness. Thanks to the Gazette for making the Internet a wonderful place.

DEvolved! The Preston and Raphael videos are great. There is nothing classic menswear about Kyle's videos (although I like him just fine as a presenter).
@@dandiehm8414 what I personally like about Kyle, is he helps balance out the Gentleman's Gazette, I think that Kyle helps the team aim to help everyone dress better as opposed to just those into their classic menswear.

In a nutshell, I can tell you why classic suits (and, while the double-breasted is more formal, I include it in that category too) have the best staying power. They DEFY trends!
Tailcoats need a comeback, i love the regency style, and what can be done with it.
@@akimbofurry2179 Style-wise, they're ok. What I'm particularly into are the Victorian era frock coats (basically a suit jacket with the skirting down to the knees) that were common gentlemen's styles of the latter 19th and early 20th centuries and the morning suit, which, if I'm not mistaken, became popular in the early 20th century.
@@thomasshort1784 oh yes, yet to be added to my selection, but they and there 16th century counter part are on my list.
I feel the past could offer much choice and individuality with suits. more so off the job.

I like this style of video very much. I hope you can do more of this kind of video featuring other wardrobe staples. I liked the look with the pink accessories best. The only look I didn't like was the second one, the "evening out" look. I felt that the red boutonniere was too big and fighting with the pocket square. I think it would have looked better either without the pocket square or with a smaller flower.

I have a wedding to attend to in June, could i get away with a nice heavy weight hopsack navy suit? The other options is 160s suit which i dont think ill be able to wear outside of formal occasions. The hopsock im referring to is from Spier and Mackay

I am frequently in Italy and nobody dresses like this. (Sadly). Same is true for South of France, Paris or what else comes to mind.
I would argue that there isn't enough color difference to use blue jeans, which is why I recently invested in gray jeans

I'm new to dressing nicely in suits and things casually. Seen as I am only 13, I am not sure how to go about getting a nice few suits to wear in public, or to gatherings. Where and how do you purchase your "fancy" clothes?
Most of the time they go for vintage or bespoke since they're professionals. For the rest of us, they review brands for us

In my personal opinion. I really don't like 2 pieces suits. I really love the classic look of a 3 pieces suit.
