Swen is like the ULTIMATE formal guy. He goes beyond partiality to obtain a formal look. On the other end is Jose, the ULTRA casual guy trying out the fads.. Antonio and Aaron are the perfect level of fashion combining Formal and Casual..
Ravindra Thialakarathne Yes, I like Svens knowledge and the history he tries to explain us. But I will never use his advices unless I need to know something for a formal event. I like Aaron too but his style is boring sometimes. I prefer José and Antonio the most. José and Alex Costa for trying out new streetwear things and Antonio for a grown up look.
@@tng2138 Jose is a go-to street-ware guy. His formal approaches has a bit of casualness in them, like McGregor. But Aron and Antonio maintains the uniqueness. Any way, I love all 4 for making me a better dresser..
Sven is more dandyish, but I would not call him formal. His videos mainly target people who are interested in clothes, are willing to put a lot of effort in their appearance and are not afraid to experiment (within certain limits). Antonio, on the other hand, appears as someone targeting "normal people"; ordinary, working men with families who are not necessarily interested in clothes and do not have too much time and money to spend but still care about their appearance and want to look like decent human beings.
Hvit Varulv I wouldn't say that Sven experiments a lot. He often relies on conventions, tradition and rules. He says what to do and what to avoid in many videos. I wouldn't call this experimenting. Furthermore, Antonio tells something about clothing too, that means that the spectators also get some history and knowledge about some pieces. On the other hand I agree with your opinion about Sven being dandyish.
I know a dumbass who is a VP at a well-known cruise line. He was asked to an interview for a 1 million dollar position. This dude bought an off-the-rack suit, no tailoring and squared-toed shoes that were scuffed. They laughed him out, literally.
This quote actually comes from a real mobster. James Gandolfini was once approached in New York, by a man claiming to be a member of one of the crime families in the city. He complimented Gandolfini and told him he did a good job, but also added that a real Don doesn't wear shorts. Ever.
@@totalbliss1 They had a real under boss talk about "things that he can, but nothing that could damage the family in any way" and he said that the shorts thing is kinda half true, on hot days you'd see guys in nice khakis shorts with boat shoes, just not cargo shorts or jorts. I'd link it if i could remember the guys name.
@@totalbliss1 Take a look at Johnny Franzese Jr.'s video on TV depictions. It's absolutely not true and definitely wouldn't have been true prior to the widespread availability of air conditioners. A mob boss is not going to wear long pants during the summer if it's that hot, especially, not at a pool party. That would be stupid.
My grandfather, Giovanni Antonio Coniglio Mitrano never wore shorts except when swimming. He also liked to out an orange slice in his mouth and make monster sounds lol
I like Raphael, but his channel is just not for younger people like me (I'm 16, maybe for people that are working and wearing suits and formal stuff a lot it is). Or atleast I feel like that. But the content he makes is still high quality and a lot of work so I respect him for that, also seems like nice guy.
You may only be 16....but if you selectively apply what you see on the Gentlemens Gazette channel.......(for example A Gentlemans Guide to Table Manners).....you will rise through the ranks of your peers.....to another level. It will make a hugh difference........ to your life outcome. It is not difficult to stand out......if you are prepared to put in the effort.

7:20 my heart just stopped for 2 seconds!! Oh, Lord. 7:30 ok, now, that’s a crossover I certainly wasn’t expecting!! Look at that, a gentleman being gentle to another gentleman. Because that’s what gentlemen do, right?. There’s hope, ladies. There’s hope. I loved this video. You’ve got a new female subscriber. 🌹🎩
Thank you for this review because I also love Gentleman's Gazette. Both of your channels have taught me so much about the "lost art" of men's etiquette. Much appreciated Antonio. So good to see you two together in this video, fucking awesome. I feel like information like this is all about what men need to learn and what fathers need to teach their sons!
Great fun video. Nice to see you boys playing nice. On a serious note, I think this idea of critiquing each others work, opinions and style is very helpful. Love your work.
Although the terminology "peasant" itself is probably insult in some cultures, to adopt the phrasing that "if u do xxx/be as xxx, u would make urself resemble a peasant", which is subjunctive and unspecified on its objective, is still not supposed to be insult.
Your sir .. you Honestly got me. I have never seen your channel before period, but now you have a new fan. I am new to the bespoke community and look forward to your gentleman's advice. Keep it the great work
I'm a subscriber and a Marine myself. But as a USMC flight Officer it would behoove you to know where Mallorca is and never defend someone who doesn't. Face it, if you are watching this, you have an internet connection and the greatest Atlas ever made. No excuses for failing geography anymore.
Raphael reminds me of a Very Proper Englishman who sips tea with his pinky extended and is into Polo and Futbol. You (Antonio) strikes me as a man who can very comfortably grab a frosty pitcher of beer while watching a Green Bay Packers game.
Hi Antonio - Great website and I fully agree with you and with Sven Raphael. I was "raised" as a Naval Officer (Naval Aviation) who incidentally enjoyed good and not so good times (combat) flying alongside or supporting you Marines. A lot of what you and Sven Raphael are educating the YT community with parallels what we were taught over and over at the Academy or Naval Officer Candidate Schools Command. I went through similar classes in Advanced Leadership School (Navy) prior to assignment to other nation (Liaison Officer) - After a 28 year career, I still carry the teaching I learned in my "young years". About the "big watch"... well, Aviators just love big watches despite what they say about Aviators with a big watches (which is not necessarily true by the way)! About the Windsor knot - we (Navy) were taught to make a "perfect" triangular Windsor knot with our Navy issue neckties for our Dress Blue uniforms. In the days of the long sleeve khaki shirts (on ship), he knot rules/styles were looser and the necktie end was usually tucked-in (they did not want clips around aircrafts!). Happy New Year - Semper Fi, Ciao, L
Butlers are generally very manly. But that's okay. Proper attire though is good to achieve. Bad formalwear is more of a livery thing, which is a good reason to stick to the dress code when going formal
I think why Sven mentions Mallorca is because he's German and its like the Spanish island where 90% of all Germans go party and just go there for drinking. It's like an outer German place every German knows and Sven is German so....
This is so funny, I have just subscribed to both of you recently. When I saw this video pop up I thought "oh no they are getting into an internet beef" Glad to know you two are friends 😀. Great content on both channels!
I like his videos but my problem with him that I have is that he seems to confuse old and style sometimes. He will call something “dated” while wearing my great grandpas suit with massive lapels and pleated pants.
I agree but it is incredibly useful information. If you're a painter, it really makes you legit if you can paint realistically before you jump off into abstract art. If you're a musician, it really makes a difference if you know how to play Bach before you jump off into jazz. It just gives you those skills and the freedom to use them. Same here - if you know how to dress well in light of the history of men's fashion, if you're well-versed in what is tasteful and appropriate, it gives you the tools to be creative in a meaningful way. So Sven's stuff is invaluable. It doesn't mean everything he says is gospel truth. I really love the guy.
Yeah, but tbere is a difference. There are aspectsof fashion that can be classified as short-lived fads, and some fashion continues to improve the timeless classics that we all like.
Bro, the world is changing. Not everybody needs to live in this boring one-dimensional box. I've noticed that all of my fashion-forward clients love casual Fridays
Cargo shorts are practical, but you have to be in shape for them. People that are out of shape need to hide under clothes. Also, they help you stay cool and prevent you from sweating. Even the most "stylish" clothes are useless when they are uncomfortable and wet.
I think this is the big point that people need to remember. There is no such thing as "a man" when it comes to blanket rules. Men come in all kinds of ages, shapes, sizes and ethnicity. There isn't necessarily one rule that works across the board. The younger, slimmer, boyish-looking type of man may well get away with clothing more typically associated with kids, until he gets older. Should he *always* wear that? No, but you can't necessarily say that he can't *ever* wear it. I personally would look utterly ridiculous in any kind of skinny jeans - I've never tried them, but I have seen guys with my body shape who've tragically made that mistake. But I have to admit that some young dudes can look good in them if they are in shape. I'm not speaking of the super-skinny jeans that look painted-on though, haha; they tend to look feminine and even most women can't pull them off.
@@sweeperboy big chubby men look like they have sausages for legs with skinny jeans and very muscular men look far too uncomfortable in them, only skinny guys can pull them off
What made me laugh was that I have been to Majorca many years ago as a kid and I did buy a pair of (I won't even try to spell what Sven called them) Those shoes. LOL
Style is what you make out if it and tells your story. Keep in mind that these well dressed men have their own story and preference to tell by their wardrobe. I subscribed and lean more towards Raphael, however, I do subscribe to other well dressed and suave gentlemen such as Antonio. I take my style seriously and I would love to be able to go to Menfluential one day. Another great video Antonio.
You guys are awesome. This is one female that is perfectly happy to 'steer clear' of gentlemen's clubs. Men NEED their elders and peers to hone their skills. It's rather depressing seeing young men in skinny jeans, and even DRESSES at some award shows...hideous. Good show, thank you for your hard work. God bless.
@@TheCuriousFinch "Can" look amazing...is more like it. But it adds a feminine aspect to them. And there are just certain traits of being gender normative and masculine men thats just charming. It took me a while to even be comfortable even at the notion of men wearing makeup.
I think he is very snobby. He doesn't believe you can ever be casual and it's just ridiculous when he looks like a private school kiddy dressed by his mum. Cargo shorts "make you look like a douchebag" and socks "like a peasant" - what an absolute tool.

I love how it turns from"hey Raphael so you think is too gaudy??" Next minute "we're proper buddies"
I like the way they both met up caught me by surprise lol
Jose the real niga tho
"Square toed shoes are the devil!"
Hahahahaha
I know a dumbass who is a VP at a well-known cruise line. He was asked to an interview for a 1 million dollar position. This dude bought an off-the-rack suit, no tailoring and squared-toed shoes that were scuffed. They laughed him out, literally.
Believe it or not but the Templars actually band them also 😂
"A Don doesn't wear shorts."
- Carmine Lupertazzi

Did you spray him with DDT when he died in the tomato patch?
Found this channel from Gentlemem's Gazzete. Nice to have different if not oposing opinions.
Ha! Loved seeing you guys at the end!
I like Raphael, but his channel is just not for younger people like me (I'm 16, maybe for people that are working and wearing suits and formal stuff a lot it is). Or atleast I feel like that. But the content he makes is still high quality and a lot of work so I respect him for that, also seems like nice guy.
You are completely correct
Totally correcto, I love Raphaels content, im 26
You may only be 16....but if you selectively apply what you see on the Gentlemens Gazette channel.......(for example A Gentlemans Guide to Table Manners).....you will rise through the ranks of your peers.....to another level.
It will make a hugh difference........ to your life outcome.
It is not difficult to stand out......if you are prepared to put in the effort.
@@SuperSetright Sure makes sense, but I haven't really stuck around his channel so far.
Obviously things like table manners apply to everyone, but I didn't even know he made that video tbh and I meant overall the channel is not for me.
i'm 15 and i go to the high school with a semi suit , i have many shirts than polos and T-shirt
#1 and #2 on men's style on RUclips. Both bring something substantial to the table each time. Thanks to both for making me a better person.
...and lastly never wear a Vincero
7:20 my heart just stopped for 2 seconds!! Oh, Lord.
7:30 ok, now, that’s a crossover I certainly wasn’t expecting!!
Look at that, a gentleman being gentle to another gentleman. Because that’s what gentlemen do, right?. There’s hope, ladies. There’s hope.
I loved this video. You’ve got a new female subscriber. 🌹🎩
Gentleman's Gazette : "At the end of the day"
RMRS : "All of a sudden"
Thank you for this review because I also love Gentleman's Gazette. Both of your channels have taught me so much about the "lost art" of men's etiquette. Much appreciated Antonio. So good to see you two together in this video, fucking awesome. I feel like information like this is all about what men need to learn and what fathers need to teach their sons!
Great fun video. Nice to see you boys playing nice. On a serious note, I think this idea of critiquing each others work, opinions and style is very helpful. Love your work.
The way he used the word peasant perfect for a modern insult
It's quite common here in Europe, some (like us here in Hungary) can even use worker as an insult.
@@leventebardossy5962 In Poland too!
Keep it the great work
I came here to defend by my boy Sven, but I made a new friend! Great advice, and thoroughly did not expect the ending!
I didn't know you two knew each other until now!! Do more of these video they are great and the same for you Sven.
We've collaborated before in a different video but also, hang out in Atlanta for Menfluential.
top hats are cool they should make a comeback
Problem is that if they make a comeback, it will probably be stupid hipsters wearing them with torn jeans and sneakers

I love these crossover videos. Nice to see their off-screen persona.
I'm a subscriber and a Marine myself. But as a USMC flight Officer it would behoove you to know where Mallorca is and never defend someone who doesn't. Face it, if you are watching this, you have an internet connection and the greatest Atlas ever made. No excuses for failing geography anymore.
"99,99% of men don't know Mallorca"
So you assume that 99,99% of men don't know Rafael Nadal ?
whos that ?
Who?
"Unbelliebable" 😂
That hard cut to Raphael made my day. *laughter
TOP 10 Anime crossovers, did not see that coming lol
I’m glad I finished it because I thought you were attacking him hahaha. I happen to love the contents from both of your channels! Well done!
Oh my this is one of the best RUclips videos I’ve watched no kidding. I love the fact you included a clip with Raf.
This was like the equivalent of a gentleman's diss track
It's in Spain... all non Americans tend to know that
Ikr? Ask any German where Mallorca is and he can tell you that it is a iIsland of Spain.
American here. I know my Spanish islands. I prefer Ibiza.
Alpargatas are pretty popular in Brazil as well. Havainas sells alpargatas here.
I know it as Chopin is my favorite composer.
Especially the Spanish. And since they are about 0.4% of the world's population, this guy's math is as off as his geography.
Raphael reminds me of a Very Proper Englishman who sips tea with his pinky extended and is into Polo and Futbol. You (Antonio) strikes me as a man who can very comfortably grab a frosty pitcher of beer while watching a Green Bay Packers game.
Maybe he's into polo but football is a sport anyone can play, so it's not really noble
You won't find many posh people at English football games hahahaha. Football is the working class game
Raphael is German
Smooth gentleman, into futbol? You must be thinking of cricket
Lmao I love this video, Raphael is so stylish+awesome :) love him. Antonio+Sven
You guys crack me up at the end. Love it! Big fan of both you.
Majorca, Spain? Dude that's the legend Raphael Nadals stomping grounds! The shoes, no clue whatsoever lol.
He looks like a butler
the great all mighty G a butler is technically a gentleman’s gentleman. So I think that’s what he was going for.
Butlers are generally very manly.
But that's okay.
Proper attire though is good to achieve.
Bad formalwear is more of a livery thing, which is a good reason to stick to the dress code when going formal
Talks like one too.
Joe Z.
Yes butlers maybe “manly” however when it comes to substance and style I believe a US Marine wins every time.
Semper Fi
Joe Zasada A man? I wouldn’t wish a butler job on my worst enemy.
Surprise ending was the best!
Antonio talks about the stylish man, Sven about the gentleman
I think why Sven mentions Mallorca is because he's German and its like the Spanish island where 90% of all Germans go party and just go there for drinking. It's like an outer German place every German knows and Sven is German so....
Tried wearing a waistcoat without my belt, now my knees wear my trousers. thanks for the tip!
exactly
“Agreed, square toe shoes are the devil” lmao
This is so funny, I have just subscribed to both of you recently. When I saw this video pop up I thought "oh no they are getting into an internet beef" Glad to know you two are friends 😀. Great content on both channels!
Lol, loved this video, the ending is awesome, didn't expect that. Greatjob Antonio 👍🏼
It was a pleasant surprise to know that you two are friends. Very nice.
This is a fun video! Nice work both of you 😁
I like his videos but my problem with him that I have is that he seems to confuse old and style sometimes.
I think he knows the current styles well but has a personal taste for vintage clothing. If needed i think he will dress to the occassion.
Yeah, but tbere is a difference. There are aspectsof fashion that can be classified as short-lived fads, and some fashion continues to improve the timeless classics that we all like.
His tie game is in poor taste and doesn't match colours well either
Lovely video! Really good to see a response video that’s not just an endless parade of hair splitting nonsense. Credit where credit is due!
Thank you for fighting against "casual Fridays", terminal sloppiness and the infantilisation of men's style! Keep fighting the good fight!
Bro, the world is changing. Not everybody needs to live in this boring one-dimensional box. I've noticed that all of my fashion-forward clients love casual Fridays
Yeah, fuck casual Fridays. Femboy Fridays is where it's at.
The codpiece is the pinnacle of men’s fashion.
Obviously sarcasm.
In France, we also have alpargatas, but they're called "espadrilles". It was a workman's shoe until the mid 20th century.
He should have given Miami Vice as reference and Yves Saint Laurent
Thank You for the Video 😀
You guys are awesome. This is one female that is perfectly happy to 'steer clear' of gentlemen's clubs. Men NEED their elders and peers to hone their skills. It's rather depressing seeing young men in skinny jeans, and even DRESSES at some award shows...hideous. Good show, thank you for your hard work. God bless.
Personally I think that men look amazing in dresses.
@@TheCuriousFinch
"Can" look amazing...is more like it.
It appears you have not watched many of our videos. I think you'd enjoy this one ruclips.net/video/Ti74fKhkCP0/видео.html
