I'm from the Netherlands: and so is Suit Supply. The "Jort" line is named after and inspired by Jort Kelder; who is a well known journalist: presenter of historical programs and etiquette authority in the Netherlands. He's credited with bringing the Italian sartorial tradition to the Netherlands in the late 1990's (which beforehand relied heavily on the German school of tailoring). This explains the lack of canvas and shoulder dimples of the Jort line.

I really enjoyed the light hearted editing on this. Can't help but laugh too at the thought of Raphael and Preston descending upon a Suit store with their most exacting requirements.. I bet the salesperson earned their dollars that day! 🤣
Really appreciate this review! I'm not sure that it's entirely fair to say that SuitSupply isn't worth it overall. Both Raphael and Preston seem to have body types that are a more difficult fit regardless of the store. I have 2 suits from SuitSupply, and I think that they're totally worth it with the in-store alterations; however, I totally see how they might not be worth it for anyone who can't get a good-enough fit. Still love the review and keep up the great work!
This video is just bad. Suit Supply offers "Custom Made" to match every body type and has a lot of value for the price. There is no comparable brand which offers the same quality in the same pricing range.

I have been a suit supply customer for 8 years. I work in the city of London and rotate between 3 suits a week. I just bought one suit from them today. The service is so good, they give you the idea of which one will fit your body and go with your skin ton ..ect.. The fabric feel really high quality and way better compare to the suits selling in Macys or Nordstrom.
Suitsupply definitely caters to a specific build with their "off the rack" offerings. I'm 5'9 165lbs with a slim but athletic build and have been extremely hit or miss with their different suit cuts. Generally, it seems that their suits(any cut) fit best for men with broad shoulders, a slim waist, and long arms. However, after purchasing a suit using their MTM process, I found the fit to be much better.
So I just received a second hand Havana style Suit Supply navy blazer and I have to admit I kind of love it. It’s half lined with a tight summer weave and though the fit may not be 100% perfect it’s still really good. I’m 5’2” and 130-135 lbs and the 36S jacket is very spot on. For $80 it was hard to go wrong.

Raphael, I really like your content. This video is the first video of yours I don't really agree with. In my opinion, Suitsupply is a truly outstanding brand even in comparison to traditional brands like Burberry. I have blazers from both brands and really like the Suitsupply one as much, or maybe even more than the one from Burberry. I see your argument with the fit issues, and I also see that I can't really relate to that, because I have a more slim and athletic figure. On the other hand I thing that for many men, suitsupply is a great brand overall. Update: Just tested Zegna blazer and while the fit was a little better on me, the fabric of the Suitsupply is a little better in my opinion. I would probably give a slight notch to the Zegna jacket, but I still do enjoy the Suitsupply blazer.
I agree. I am a suit snob, having 30 plus suits (including Zegna and MTM), and have to agree with Matej. Suit supply is great for the price. I recently purchased some of their linen suits in SB and DB and have to say that I am very impressed in terms of value for money. Do they have the best finishing or construction?, No. But let’s not forget, it’s not Kiton, Zegna etc. It’s a suit below $1000, seriously chill out.
I am lucky enough to live in Toronto where Spier and McKay is.... They are great, beautiful, very affordable and always has sale... The greatest thing about S&M is that their alterations are dirt cheap...
Preston, I thought your suit looked fine on you. I would like to see a comparison of this suit to a Spier & Mackay suit please. This online MTM stuff can get complicated. Great review and thanks to the both of you.
Preston, thanks for this. I am a similar build to you (175cm and roughly 59kg) and take 36-38 jacket with 28-30 waist. So, I have some of the same issues as you, particularly with the big drop and excess fabric. I prefer my suits to fit slimmer because anything regular cut usually looks like I’m wearing a tent. It’s nice to see a guy of a similar physique to me and with similar issues! It’s not just me. I guess it proves men, as well as women, come in all shapes and sizes!
I think you should make a video reviewing the brand "Pini parma" because it has a good options for pleated pants and it's supposed to be really good quality
Have you heard about Massimo Corrado?... he is the best regarding troursers specially those made to order which is almost the same price like those ready to wear. I've tried Pini and others. However Massimo Corrado is the winner.
wow, finally someone gave also metric info! Don't know why this is still rare. I would think that there are many Europeans etc. who watch youtube material from the U.S.
It’s important to always share that the review is always subjective. I’m 6’ 0 165 and I never have had to tailor any of my off the rack size 36 suits. I recently just experienced the custom program and had a Washington suit made and it again was perfect. Just depends on your build. Is it worth the price? Eh. Subjective as well. But great in-depth video, gents!
Finally, I am one of the first to watch the video early! Raphael, Preston, Kyle: I love all of you individually for heavily assisting me in my journey down the classic trail. I have never felt more confident in my clothing style because you all helped me build my own individuality and learn that fitting in isn't necessary. Again, thank you and have a great week.
The only suit I have right now is from Suitsupply. I got it in a pinch and they did the alterations within an hour of purchase which really slimmed it down to my frame. The alterations accentuate my height and the material is light and fits well down even to the tapered leg in the pants. I am the average in between both of these gentlemen falling in at 6ft 185 in most months of the year. The jacket I have is also more casual and I am able to use it with different pants and as a blazer option if needed. Would I go back with more time available? Maybe, but I'm happy with the product I received. I would say if you are looking for a generic M-F "office" suit then this isn't the place for you. If you want a suit that pops then Suitsupply might be more in your lane. Good overall review and I didn't realize they did "custom" work as well.

I am from the Netherlands and I have purchased several suits from Suitsupply. Obviously always in store as this allowed proper fitting. My arms are a tad long, but customizing can be done quite easily. You can tell the difference between a low-cost suit and a high-end suit easily. I like to wear suspenders, ideally with buttons, which caused me to have their tailor sew in a few buttons for suspenders into a new suit. Don't do that. The buttons will be fine, but they will destroy the waistband of the trousers. The Jort collection by the way is named after a famous classy Dutch TV Host called Jort Kelder. He is actually seen in this video, as the man inspecting the sewing hall (with the suspenders, a distinctive style element he embraces). Thanks for the vid.
I have a suit from there and its 10/10, I've had suits tailered that cost double the price for a lesser quality fabric, the only thing I didnt like was the cost of the adjustments that wernt made clear
Firstly I loved the video - particular shout outs to the editing and Raphael's outfit breakdown. I've shopped with Suit Supply before (three off-the-racksuits, one pair of chinos, one pair smart wool trousers). Here are my thoughts: Suits: As you guys eluded to, Suit Supply only cater to a particular body type. Fortunately, I fit that mold (or at least did pre pandemic!). So the fit was great with only trouser length and tapering adjustments needed. I found the quality of the suit to be really good. Much better than TM Lewin or Charles Tyrwhitt where I used to shop before. I liked the in-store tailoring element. I found it odd that you couldn't mix and match trousers and jackets sizes like you can at other stores. Smart trousers: Great, no complaints. Fit with no adjustments needed. Chinos: Fit was fine but quality was really poor. Fabric felt plasticy and lots of threads coming loose after a few wears. So my personal review is mixed. If you fit their body profile then I think the suits are good quality for the price. But that's a big if! BD
My greatest experience has been walking into a mom and pops store, picking colors from fabric still bundled, getting my measurements taken and coming back in three days for a completely fitted suit.
Yes please review Spier. I’m a big fan of theirs since inception and they continue to grow and evolve at a sustainable rate. Would be interested in your teams POV.
I worked at Suitsupply, the collar pleat is the pleat that may show itself below the colar of your jacket. Sometimes the ipad calls it 'square back neck' as well. It's pretty embarrassing that no one in the store knew it!
I’ve got a SuSu lazio suit. My body type works well with their clothing. I buy a lot of their casual clothing as well. It’s a bit pricey but looks great.
Congrats ! Honesty and transperency are the main thing lacking on youtube . I personally dont fit either on the suitsupply spectrum and find the quality to be very average and think they are over priced . Way better fabrics out there even in the italian range like loro piana ( italian fabrics are not the best ) better fabrics for suits like Scabal or holland sherry and with regards to shirts Alumo . I really enjoyed the review , thanks alot and keep up the great work .
I like this review, really put them to the test. I think Preston's suit from SS looks good. Also likeable material. For the price, that's a good deal. Raphael needed more room in arms near shoulders, but their sizes required a suit by Omar the tent maker to do that, so the custom route would have actually been very interesting to see, could've been smashing. I test garments by how I feel when I take them off. If it's a relief, I get rid of them, if not, I keep them. I judge sleeves and jacket length by weather, if it's cold, they should be heavier material, and a bit longer, within reason, for me to feel warmer, if warm weather, they can be lighter weight and shorter and thus more comfortable. My Brooks Brothers full zip ribbed cotton sweater works 3 seasons, since it's about a half inch longer waist and sleeves, which seals out the cold a bit better, can actually feel it, than Polo, which I wear in warmer weather. Polo has the exact fit, looks great, but Brooks captured the comfort by just adding half an inch in both lengths. It's been said a Brooks Brothers shirt fits nobody, but Brooks is sometimes smarter than they look, evidently.
Well, thanks for the review. Two bodytypes that differ very much and are certainly not average. Iam a very regular customer of Suitsupply and have almost no big problems to fit in as good as possible in non-bespoke garments. Also iam very satisfied with their website, and offerings and possibilities. I have an athletic build, 1.86 mtr and around 77-80 kgs.
I would like to see a Spier & Mackay review. Thankyou for making this type of review, I was considering suit supply for my next suit and I appreciate your approach to revieving. I think incorperating a dress shirt section of a brand review would be a good addition if that brand offers shirts, like Spier.
Interesting to see GG's experience with Suitsupply. It would be interesting to see a review of Pini Parma. The styling looks more attractive to me, with pleated, high rise trousers, flannels and generally a more classic fit . Similar price point, but Made in Italy and with a more timeless look.
Great review video! This is a useful series for popular OTR brands. A similar review video for Spier & Mackay items would be awesome, particularly since they offer a "Neapolitan" style jacket. Would be good to know how it compares to true Neapolitan tailoring!
Thank you, gentlemen, for this in-depth review of suit supply. Living in Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island, I am fortunate enough to live close to a location in Canada. Also, I'm lucky enough to have the body type that works with OTR garments. But, after watching your video, and trusting your experience, I am still leaning toward an Oliver Wicks MTM suit. 🙂
Thanks for the review ! I actually went into a suit supply recently and was told upfront by a sales associate that suit supply off the rack is not an option because I have a 12 inch drop. He then said they offered made to measure and fully custom. Im glad I didn’t because I really don’t want a collar gap. I really wish suit supply did a better job explaining the difference between custom programs because they stated that they offer made to order, custom and fully custom made to measure.
Why this video did not come out sooner, your conclusion was spot on, matter of a fact i have to return a suit i order under their new made from scratch, it is more like MTO with some extra flare, in order for them to accommodate for my broad back/shoulder blades they increase the shoulders to a point that is not funny on top that they didn’t adjust sleeve length independently for each arm (slope on the left one).
I remember when we started carrying Suit Supply at Bloomingdale's: they actually do suits and sport coats in nice, traditional fabrics and colors that most manufacturers today seem to be staying away from. My only reservation is that their line is made in China.
Hey so just a quick hottake; I LOVE the idea of a more funny, light hearted video with outtakes. Although I think they hit maybe a bit too often. Well, maybe not too much, but too concentrated in short bursts. I like the direction, just not the execution. But I’d definitely say keep improving on the concept!
I am surprised many people haven't commented on the most surprising element of the video... I guess, they just did not watch it all the way. 😂

Burberry, Suitsupply ?🤔
I bought a suitsupply suit once. The fabric gets shiny very quickly
Please do Spier & Mackay next!
Likewise. Been interested in them recently.
I am lucky enough to live in Toronto where Spier and McKay is.... They are great, beautiful, very affordable and always has sale... The greatest thing about S&M is that their alterations are dirt cheap...
Speir and McKay review, please!
Spier and Mackay would be great. I love the two dress shirts I have from them
Preston, I thought your suit looked fine on you. I would like to see a comparison of this suit to a Spier & Mackay suit please. This online MTM stuff can get complicated. Great review and thanks to the both of you.
I appreciate the added levity.
PLEASE, KEEP THOSE BLOOPERS AND CUT-OFFS. makes the video more entertaining and makes you more relatable. Over all 10/10.
I like their new style of editing videos and adding a few bits of giggles here and there, it makes them feel more human.
I see you guys, or at least Raphael, have officially embraced the "Zoom Suit"
Agreed! I've had my eye on them
Have you heard about Massimo Corrado?... he is the best regarding troursers specially those made to order which is almost the same price like those ready to wear. I've tried Pini and others. However Massimo Corrado is the winner.
wow, finally someone gave also metric info! Don't know why this is still rare. I would think that there are many Europeans etc. who watch youtube material from the U.S.
'and 44 kilograms' spilled my coffee right there, that would be dangerously anorectic
tell me about it, spat out my tea!
Thank you for your support Joshua and for being a Patron, we appreciate it!
I own a Jort and love it! It has so many playful details. Great suit.
Me: I'm really digging Raphael's outfit
Raphael: I'm not wearing pants
Me:...I'm *really* digging Raphael's outfit
Jokes aside, I really appreciate this super in depth review...fantastic points made and hilarious cut-ins
The built in outtakes added a fun twist. Nice video, gents.
Would definitely like to see a Spier & Mackay review
I have a suit from there and its 10/10, I've had suits tailered that cost double the price for a lesser quality fabric, the only thing I didnt like was the cost of the adjustments that wernt made clear
Enjoyed that you left in the blopers/errors. Made it more personal and engaging
I have hyperhydrosis too! I wear Thompson T-shirts under my clothes, it’s great I’ve never sweat through a shirt ever again
I love men wearing suits! So more info on men's suits, the better. Would love to get a video on white linnen suits for summer/warm country occasions.
I’m really digging Preston’s tie & knot in this video. That green is amazing 👌🏽
The random outtakes really make these videos.
Firstly I loved the video - particular shout outs to the editing and Raphael's outfit breakdown. I've shopped with Suit Supply before (three off-the-racksuits, one pair of chinos, one pair smart wool trousers). Here are my thoughts:
Suits: As you guys eluded to, Suit Supply only cater to a particular body type.
BD
Spier and Mckay are amazing. Please review them.
It looks amazing on Preston! the slimmer longer look looks very nice on him honestly
My greatest experience has been walking into a mom and pops store, picking colors from fabric still bundled, getting my measurements taken and coming back in three days for a completely fitted suit.
I’m glad you reviewed this company because like Raphael I have large thighs, relative to my waist. In addition, I have large calves.
All your videos inform me and lower my blood pressure. Thank you!
I love your error skits. They make you look so genuine. Great job.
Yes please review Spier. I’m a big fan of theirs since inception and they continue to grow and evolve at a sustainable rate. Would be interested in your teams POV.
Finally, i need this video cause im 15 and am graduating from my swedish highschool, And i want to find myself a quality 3 piece tweed suit.
First suit doesn't really need to be over 500 bucks
I would suggest you take a look at tailorstore .Se
I have good experience from their customize option.
Spier and mackay seem to be the best value in my opinion
@@thatxonexguy5438 thank you for the tip i shall look into it
@@seeker2219 thank you for the recommendation i will look into it
I worked at Suitsupply, the collar pleat is the pleat that may show itself below the colar of your jacket.

Looking forward to the Spier and Mackay review!
Thank you GG, I love Suitsupply, but I mostly buy knits, blouses and pants so...
This new kind of video is really amazing !!! It was hilarious ^^
Loving the way these are cut with bloopers.
I likes this new format. Much more fun to watch
Watched probably a dozen videos in the past week from you all... FWIW, Preston's suit is the flyest I've seen to my unrefined sensibility 💪🏾😅
Good luck you guys are almost a one million subscribers!
I would like to see a Spier & Mackay review. Thankyou for making this type of review, I was considering suit supply for my next suit and I appreciate your approach to revieving. I think incorperating a dress shirt section of a brand review would be a good addition if that brand offers shirts, like Spier.
Bravo for the thorough review! Thank you, gentlemen. And yes, I would like for you to review Spier & MacKay suits.
This was a really good, honest suitsupply review.
@@niekfw7413 probably a patreon.
thanks for ur comment their prices are interesting!
the editing has gotten far more complex and funny since I last watched. always come back to your videos when i have an event coming up
I would really like to see an is it worth it on Turnbull and Asser shirts and ties.
The mysterious ‘collar pleat’ is to remove the ripples below the collar causing by a ‘square back neck’
Mystery solved
Thanks for the review ! I actually went into a suit supply recently and was told upfront by a sales associate that suit supply off the rack is not an option because I have a 12 inch drop. He then said they offered made to measure and fully custom. Im glad I didn’t because I really don’t want a collar gap. I really wish suit supply did a better job explaining the difference between custom programs because they stated that they offer made to order, custom and fully custom made to measure.
Dude was trying to upsell you hard lol. They are able to swap out trouser sizes on certain lines of suits
I really appreciate the bloopers. Keep them coming
I remember when we started carrying Suit Supply at Bloomingdale's: they actually do suits and sport coats in nice, traditional fabrics and colors that most manufacturers today seem to be staying away from. My only reservation is that their line is made in China.
Great video guys. I'd also be interested in your opinions of Spier and Makay and Pini Parma.
Hey so just a quick hottake;
I LOVE the idea of a more funny, light hearted video with outtakes.
Although I think they hit maybe a bit too often.
Well, maybe not too much, but too concentrated in short bursts.
I like the direction, just not the execution.
But I’d definitely say keep improving on the concept!
