Thanks to the previous EBay videos, I’ve purchased a Richard James suit, a Peter Johnston suit, an Armani suit, and a vintage Polo Ralph Lauren suit, a vintage Burberry trench coat, and some great ties. This channel has really helped me build my wardrobe at an affordable price
As a drummer, I really appreciate that the GG background music is a drummer keeping brush time. Also the clothing and style advice on this channel is one of the absolute best of the site. Bravi!
Hi Raphael, What an amazing video. Thanks for mentioning Hockerty and showing the features on our website. I have already shared the video internally because your opinion is highly valued by us.
I swear to god if u want to dress up as a young men (19) there is nothing that isnt covered in depth with Gentelmens Gazette. I really apreciate u guys for sharing ur experience and knowledge for free!
I think the service/knowledge of certain employees may vary but suitsupply in Stockholm has been my goto supplier for three years now. I took my measurements in the store, they are at my profile so now I create a design I like online, call the store, send any alterations from my profile to fit the style I want for that particular suit. Summer suits I want a more tapered fit, late autumn/winter suit I want a wider fit so I can wear my chelsea boots along with the suit etc, and I have always had great results by doing this.
today I have been browsing some MTM suit options online for the first time, I've never had anything MTM before, never mind online and this video comes out of nowhere, i feel blessed
I would like to start with SuitSupply because you still look better than other people and its not the most expensive but the problem is that I don't have them in my country😪
I just ordered a suit online from Spier & Macay. I went to a local tailor, had them do my measurements, then emailed S & Macay asking them about what size they would recommend. I also told them I have sloped shoulders and they recommended their Neopolitan cut suit. Once I receive it I will bring it to a local tailor to alter.
So far I’ve been very impressed with Spier and McKay’s quality vs price. I would honestly love to see them do a rundown of Spier and McKay, Pini Parma, Articles of Style...basically any value MTM option that isn’t Suit Supply
I would love to see a video where you guys do a video covering Articles of Style so we can receive Herr Schneider's take on their process and overall quality.
Keep up the good work Mr. Schneider. I like your presentation style very much; full of charm, informative, and with a touch of social warm. I like how you talk to your audiences. Mr. Centeno at RMRM, I couldn't stand watching him. Unlike you, Mr. Centeno talk at his audiences, I feel overwhelm/ under attack by his verbal bullets :) Also he always makes himself seem obviously like a man on a mission to sell you something (all that clothes and style yet the vibe is no different than a used car sale man, sad). Anyway, À votre santé and pleasant weekend ;)
I would love to hear your opinion about Pini Parma, they have of the rack suits, jackets...and a MTO program online. I have a few garments from them and they are really good for the money considering the details on them.
Hey Sven, what’s the the spread collar shirt you’re wearing? My favorite dress shirts are spread collar and the one you have is perfectly my style. So I’m curious where you purchase your shirts.
I live in Japan, making jackets that fit off the rack hard to come by. I have an average build, but Hulk shoulders compared to the average Japanese build, so I end up buying XL jackets and having the chest taken in and length reduced just to get the shoulders wide enough.
I have 1 tailored suit but sadly don't really have much of an opportunity to wear it much so it sits in the closet. I plan on purchasing a few sport coats and perhaps a linen blazer for hot weather. I think it would pair well with my linen shirts but anyways excellent content love the history as always!
@@ihavekalashnikovyoudomath9275 Completely forgot writing this comment but thanks for the input. I prefer a nice sport coat nowadays but I still have a Dark suit in my wardrobe whenever the occasion calls for it again if ever. Perhaps someday I'll invest in another. I also have a couple suit seperate jackets in Charcoal and Medium Grey Glen Plaid although I wish I would've gotten the charcoal as a full suit. I do have Wool Dress pants in Charcoal but they are lightweight so not really sure about pairing them together once in awhile.
I bought a made to measure suit from BD Tailormade and I love it. It was $150 for a three piece suit. Now I am in a tropical climate and I haven't found anyone who can do the same thing in light materials.
Great video! Another channel to check out is Vladimir Riche. This man is or at one time was a style consultant. He knows! Also, I enjoy all of the bloopers.
I think the biggest con is definitely being able to not feel the fabric I bought a suit off Amazon a long time ago for the purpose of a wedding and I paired a blue blazer that had a peak lapel that was black which I kind of liked even though you traditionally wear that with a tuxedo, With black pants that were Celvin Klein brand. Now it still looked OK but what happened was when I got the blazer in it was made from a fabric that was a bit more like those cloth bags that you would buy at the store to bring your groceries home in I still have it but I'm probably going to get rid of it when I have something to take its place, that's made from a better material that may be slightly more costly.
Im very curious to know which online sites are nice and how they rank between each other. Its almost impossible for normal person to be bothered to get accurate fits across all of the websites and test them all..
I would love to buy something from Fort Belvedere, but I live in Europe, in Prague. And if I order anything from you, I will have to pay 21 percent tax of the price extra. What a pity.
I would never by a suit online. My suits I want tailored to fit my frame. There is something to said for walking into a mens clothier and getting fitted
45-53cm at the shoulder!? So either when I lost weight from 106kg (234 lbs) to 74kg (163 lbs) in 2020 I also lost an extreme amount of weight at the shoulders (190cm (6ft 3in) body length at 43-44cm (17.3in) shoulder width), or became too athletic by running three to four times a week.
Unless you know your exact measurements and know the brands model's distinctions, go find a reputable haberdashery, if necessary go on a short vacation to do it, have fun. Online is a nightmare unless you watch the Gentlemen's Gazette videos
I do wonder sometimes, I have 4 suits that do not fit properly to me but not doesn't stretch my physical appearance horizontally, good quality suits, I don't mind the fit really, I mean it doesn't make me look sloppy. Should I alter the suits or just let it be? I'm very young and skinny, roughly 5'8, 16-year-old on April.
You have a very good chance of growing over the next few years. I'd leave things "be" until you've reached your full statute...which in my experience happens for men between 21 and 25.
I would never purchase a suit online. None of mine were. I like mine to properly tailored and fitted. A gentlemen should walk into a proper men's clothier get measured, fitted and tailored for suit. Never purchase off the rack.

Misread the subtitle as "Take measurements and buy whiskey".
Gets my vote.
If measurements change too much, slow down on the whisky.
I love when you guys leave the bloopers on your videos, it gives them a more natural vibe, and do not seem artificially perfect.
Thanks for mentioning my channel! And thanks for this great guide. The perfect video to point the next beginners to.

A 40 minute Gentleman's Gazette video ? We are not worthy.

The Belch was hilarious 😆
Just in time for the stimulus checks. Thank you, I needed this.
Thanks for the shoutout! Greatly appreciated!
I noticed in the town I live in there are many men starting to wear flat caps and vintage style Winter coats are also more common, neat!
Thank you 👍
I got all my Fort Belvedere socks online 😁
I'm venturing into the adventure of measurements, tailors, and Ebay jackets now 🤔
Fantastic! A timeless video to rewatch before shopping.

Love the videos by the way.
Can you review the MTM brand Collaro Co. They have an excellent MTM trousers and shirts for a relatively affordable price.
Thanks Raphael! I am 18 y/o and looking to build a classic wardroab, strating with an sportcoat

I too enjoy my Isaia. Raphael's got some good tastes, as expected. I would love your opinions on it as it's hard to get info on them.
Can you do a review on Hockerty custom suits?
Are there any suits made strictly with organic material (cotton , wool etc...) ?
I am allergic to non organic material.
Do you have any recommendations for where to buy a Tweed suit either in stores or online in the US?

What are your thoughts on a good compromise being to buy a slightly larger suit off the shelf and then getting a good tailor to basically Bespoke it?
That’s not what bespoke is. That’s tailoring

This is what's great about being an atomic vintage dresser, items weren't especially well fitted between 1957 and 1962, makes things a lot easier.

Where can i buy a suit under $50?
Excellent
No, you were right: there's the adjective "snuggly" (ie cuddly) and the adverb "snugly" (in a snug manner).
Yes, I would like to see an comprehension review of $400 dollars to $1000 dollars online suit makers.
This is the type of video you gotta watch at least 3-4 times to avoid returns
Anyone else see the thumbnail and know that this was his fresco suit from eBay a few years ago?
It is impossible to buy a suit on line, too many problems with this idea.

I don't think I would want to buy suits or sport jackets online. I would prefer an in store experience with another person (when it's safe to do so)
Will be better you just go straight to the point

dont get plaids when your skinny like me tho, that would make my pants look like clownpants
Yah, spending 100 hours shopping for a suit would be ridiculous! I could make a suit in less than 100 hours.
