Antonio or whoever can answer I wanted to buy the captain (Brady) from Thursday boots but with shipping and taxes it comes to 300€ is that overpaying or is it still a good deal
With a suit, Balmoral pattern cap-toed oxfords look so classic. As you've stated in regards to classic style, they've got staying power and if you're young and want to stand out a little, throw in some colored, waxed laces for flair. Whole cuts look nice and sleek, but I'd be afraid of them being trendy now and falling out of style tomorrow. Bluchers/derbies are too chunky, reminiscent of retail store employee required to wear "dress shoes" at work. Strapped shoes look out of place with a suit, like something a new finance grad or car salesman would buy because they look trendy. Take care of them right and your oxfords will stick around long enough for you to look back in 10 years and NOT say, "what was I thinking with that choice?" Rubber/Dainite soles are more comfortable and practical than Leather, which require some babying (care not to get them wet, wear out quickly walking on concrete) and offer no traction.
Man all those outfits looking sharp. I hear people always asking me if what I am wearing is uncomfortable like these ones, but on the contrary I am at my most comfortable
About a decade ago I went to a taylor, specialized in bespoke Italian style (Napels), in order to get myself my first custom made suit. First I felt a bit uncomfortable (i.e. really necessary spending the money?). But looking back I do think it was worth it, for always being one of the best dressed men in the room during special occasions. And now, at almost 50, it forces me to stay in shape as well, just in order to fitting the (almost) timeless, still very stylish custom made suit. 😎
Hey, I like what you said about being almost 50, and having that piece as an inspiration to stay in shape. I'm almost 50 myself, and, while I've never exactly dressed like a slob, I learned a lot about style by watching videos like this, and one thing that has stood out are the comments that say things like "Or you could work out, because any style looks good on a built body." During covid lockdowns, I got into a certain habit, because I didn't want to put on weight, and ended up losing ALL of the extra weight I was carrying. Makes the style knowledge look even better. Just wanted to say...we older dudes can look like a freaking million bucks, and even better when we stay in shape👍
Spot on!!! I’ve had a few suits and sport coats, and have always been told I was 46L. Former athlete at 6’2 225, 47” chest and 34” waist, let’s just say I had zero idea how poorly my suits and jackets were fitting me. I’ll be 49 in two months, and sometimes you just don’t know what you don’t know. Went to Suit Supply for a consultation. If you’re considering it, DO IT!!! Obv hard for me to go off the rack, so I went with the custom for a new navy blue blazer. My consultant put me in a 44R! Raise the armholes, lower the top button, the sides come in and show off my V shape. Felt like an idiot for not recognizing this long ago, but to your point it’s even more motivation to stay in shape. I’m getting a couple suits and more jackets, also custom dress shorts. I have like 30 Jos a bank shirts I need to get rid of because no way I’m wearing a bulky shirt anymore. It’s worth the money you’ll spend. I look at the items in my closet and some are a decade old. It’s a timeless look, and if you spend $1,000, $1,500, even $2,000, you’re going to have a quality piece for life. Plus a little extra motivation to stay in shape! 😁
This EDUCATION is PRICELESS to many men's success rate......for society and in the eyes of us....quality women......Thanks again, Antonio!!!! " as an adult man"..🤣🤣
I'm 17 years old and started wearing suits and overcoats almost a year ago. You helped me a lot getting into manswear and becoming a gentleman. Thank you a lot Antonio! 🙏
Barnie Stinon approved! All jokes aside this is one of your best videos. I am a recent amputee (leg) and haven't worn a suit in a while, and not sure if I will ever wear one again. Unfortunate, because I always liked to suit up. Hopefully, after I get a hang of using a prosthetic I can one day don a suit again. Wish me luck!
Fantastic content, as always. I recently lost a lot of weight, about 3 years ago. I really enjoy suits and sport jackets. It has been so much fun rebuilding my collection. I am in the fashion phase, after the first basic suit solid colors. I am having fun now with more patterns. I live in Clearwater Beach, Florida. I am from Chicago. The weight loss has been a blessing with the new suits, as I choose lighter materials for the weather. Thank you, for the enlightening content!🙏🏼☺️
You are accurate with the description of this Suitsupply location in Chicago! I purchased three spread collar egyptian cotton dress shirts and their seasonal orange double-breasted overcoat! I support your analysis of the location, being a Chicago citizen. I am amazed by the service and quality of materials in their suits options!
Excellent advice as always Antonio. Over the past five years or so I’ve noticed I’ve made a transition into wearing the sport coat and odd trouser combination and I couldn’t be happier. Yes I still wear full suits but the versatility this gives me is unparalleled. I’ve also started dabbling in turtlenecks with the looks and I’m loving it.
Suit supply has revolutionized my style. My best dressed friend put me onto them last year. They are not cheap, but they aren't out of line either. $700 for a suit, $120 for shirts, $200 for trousers. But the quality and customer service rivals bespoke. Lifetime alterations too. Wish I would have known about them longer. I tried on their navy peacoat and it's easily the nicest best fitting coat I've ever worn. I need a coat for work that has to be black so I didn't get it but I literally think about it everyday, that is how good it is.
I feel woefully unprepared for suits after watching this, but at the same time, pretty thankful I found the channel. Not sure if I’ll ever be that fashionable but this just seem like cool stuff to learn just in case.
I started shopping at suit supply 5 years and I enjoy the shopping experience you get when you go to their stores. I'm 5'4" and I was told by my tailor to find a store that caters to short men because the off the rack will not do me justice as far as the fit. I recommend the custom program because you'll have more options when designing your suit and the fit will be better. I took inventory on my wardrobe and donated it to a worthy cause because the fit was not close to the items I got from suit supply.
I've watch you for years, but never commented. LOVE the brown apron derbies. And a great job representing Suit Supply. All your choices looked good, especially the fit you wore for the majority of the presentation.
Yes the derbies are awesome. I love the double breasted waistcoat/vest. It is such an underrated look on a three piece suit. And looks good on almost every body type.
I was born in Chicago, live near so I’m there almost every weekend, I just saw your channel a few days ago, dropped my cloths styled up, I’m a man now no longer a teen almost 22, suited up and hit the city last night with my boys, felt like a million bucks so many looks so many complaints had so much fun thank you!
I love Suit Supply, and it’s very appropriate they partner up with you! All around great place to get suits. I have to wear suits during the weekday (for work) and pretty much sweat by them.
This is the best video on RUclips right now when it comes to every single detail about suits. Very relaxing video with tons of different information for different kinds of people
Even though this video is sponsored to promote Suitsupply, but after visiting a Suitsupply store and buying one of their suits (I didn't watch this video until after my purchase) I have to agree Suitsupply is brilliant. Friendly staff who really know their stuff about suits, willing to help you find your measurements and adjustments and even advice on outfit combinations. Just wish they are near where I live as I had to head overseas to purchase the suit.
This is a lot of great advice. I'm a big fan of sport jackets, especially because of the extra variety you can get with them. It's fun to wear a sports jacket with odd trousers and an odd vest. I rarely wear full on suits because I'm the artist type who doesn't have an office job. I'm actually even considering going into the tailoring business, although that would be in years from now if so. As for the shoes, I think they work well for casual suits, sport jackets, etc, or as you say to wear to and from work in a more formal suit, but derby's are generally a bit more casual than oxfords. So I'd place them on roughly the same level of formality as loafers and dressier boots. One trick for making dress shoes more comfortable to wear if you need to walk a bit: get soft insoles, the ones you can buy separately and just put into any shoes. I bought a pair of insoles from the pharmacy, with all sorts of high tech gel padding and what not, that really make any shoes I wear a lot more comfortable. And it's completely invisible, so won't mess with the formality of your outfit. I walk and bike a lot, and wanted to look nice while doing it, so I figured it out.
Love that littlefinger reference. That monologue montage is hands down my absolute favorite scene from all of GOT. Scenes like that is what really put that series one step above all of the others. Such a great speech too.
Antonio… I’ve got a funeral/burial a wedding reception and a church service this weekend. I will be using the full breadth of being dressed up in various suit/ blazer combinations .
This has got to be the best video I’ve seen! This is really helpful. I’m starting to lean into wearing more suits in the office. The Derbies do look clunky but they’re functional and won’t have you on your ass in the winter.
For me...pleats and cuffs never go out of style! Don't think I even own a pair of flat front slacks! Love suspenders also! Everyone has their own style though. Enjoyed the video.
Made to measure or bespoke should definitely be the definite choice for a well-dressed gentleman, IMHO. Ironically, some off-the-rack items are more expensive than either of those options, may have lower quality and sometimes, a lousy fit. I was the type of guy regularly looking for decently priced high-end branded items for my wardrobe. But since last year, after having a local tailor make for me three jackets and three suits, I'm way over it. The suits are actually made of high-quality fabrics, one is Loro Piana, another Ermenegildo Zegna Cloth and the third, Taylor & Stewart wool and cashmere blend. All of them cost less than high-branded off-the-rack counterparts, around 1/3, and the fit is spot on. I will most likely not look at off-the-rack options unless it's something really outstanding. Tailored clothes may seem more expensive at first, but they're real investments that will last for years or even decades.
I wear sport jackets everyday. I go for bold patterns and colors and I get tons of compliments. Strangers always saying to me nice jacket! My daily outfit is dark blue jeans, sports jacket and cowboy boots. Daily someone says “nice suit”. I don’t correct them 😂.
you are amazing.....very clear set of tips and how they work to make a man feel confident in the classy way of living........i wish things were back to 50s and 60s where poeple cared more about thesee things........i contanbtly wear suites to the airport since we have to dress up when we are travelling and that makes people look and feel good.
Sports jacket FAN!! Sports jackets and coats allow me to do notary work and field inspections in the same day. I can take the jacket off and get active in a polo to perform the inspection, then put the jacket back on to do a sign/notarizing. In Florida, it's too impractical to do both in a suit and I'll sweat through and ruin a nice suit.
Like the derby for the winter. We get super cold, not many days with slush, great if you're parked in the underground which still gets cold, full of puddles and dirty.
25:51 there is a suit place in my city that make their own suits, and they also get accessories custom made for them from time time, including shoes, and they use the same soles, very stable and a lot less prone to slipping compared to a leather sole shoe
Hi Antonio, Enjoy your channel. Recently saw a young man wearing a suit jacket and did not remove the "X" threads that secure the jacket vent on the back. It was an instant flag for a rookie style mistake.
Yea im re-doing my wardrobe. Lost 10kg. Thanks for the advice. Just got a few side adjuster trousers, sport jackets and couple of 3 piece Still need more though. Probably need a total of 6 working suits. Think the derby too clunky and fashion forward. Dress boots 👢 be cooler....my 2 cents
nice video Antonio. great tips. however, i would like to point out that your pants length could be shorter. many times, there were 2 obvious breaks at the front, and sometimes the pants had a break at the back - definitely not flattering!
Love this. Shared it with my lady. Question though, we talk about quality, but we never talk about how to determine quality, cause let's be honest the salesman only sells quality (right!)...
In lighter colors and weights I like a one or two button modern cut style... For heavier (warmer) fabrics (I.E. the 'power suit') I like a 3 piece and three-button, structured style... This goes for my preferred kilt jacket cuts as well. Medium lapels on all... whether formal or casual.... OH and I love to see the third 'ticket pocket' coming back in vogue as of late!!
Only recently got these feeds - late to the party. Great content, Tony. My father shared the following with me. REPORTER: Yogi, you look really cool in a seersucker suit. BERRA: You don't look so hot, either. Your opening to this episode had me recall a fond memory. Thank you.
Hello Tesla. I enjoyed ur video and I have learned so MUCH! Thank U! Questions: What would u recommend for a 61 year young man who loves looking different and standout but doesn't want to look like his trying to look like a young man to much but yet loves looking stylish. I am 5/4 , I am retired enjoy entertaning and dinning out for brunch ect... I have a great shaped body for 61 .. I am now learning to become a pan flutist and almost ready to start playing like in elegant cafes ect.. soft lighting type of place . Am looking for an everyday look / gym look / and going out look playing music as I mentioned. I used to dress but after a long recovery ect.. I have lost my touch and didn't have a reason for dressing . But things are changing and moving along strongly and feeling good of who I am but need to Start dressing the part . Looking forward to hearing your you soon I hope . :) By the way I feel younger and look younger by 10 years . Thank U!!! H.
Hi, I'm a big sports jacket fan. I have 2 Ralph Lauren jackets in green and blue. I have a really nice Paul Smith one in beige a tighter fit but it looks amazing. I also have a Guess one too, but I bought a couple of cheaper ones that I thought were nice at the time but now I don't like them. So you live and you learn. Also I have short arms and I know the rule is it can't go past your shirt but on the Ralph Lauren ones they're a bit too long. They're surgeon cuffs so I haven't tried to adjust them. I think they still look good but I do feel slightly self conscious when wearing. Should I take it to a tailor and try to get it fixed? Thanks.
Loving the content. I’m 5’8” with a stocky build … I’ve heard some say that the double breasted look in outerwear and suits isn’t good for my body type. Makes me look shorter. But I love the style and want to be ready when it really comes back. Thoughts?
These are really great tips, Antonio! In regard to shoes and boots, I'd recommend a pair of boots for the man who walks more than a mile to work, probably anywhere in the country. Obviously, the climate will dictate the best boot, but the key is having the arch support and the ankle support. For the man who uses a lot of public transit and isn't necessarily always walking, but needs a sturdy shoe, I know Alden makes some pretty good walking shoes in the $600 range. I'm not familiar enough with other companies' models to speak for any of them, however. I do know there are other options out there that are slightly more stylish than sneakers 😜
26:30 oh yeah, I'm a big sports jacket guy. I'm a suit guy too, but when I need to level up -- whether it's a collared shirt and jeans, or a long-sleeve button up and dress slacks -- that jacket adds a little panache to the outfit.
Opinion on light gray herringbone jacket with a white shirt and red v-neck sweater and red tie and tan chinos with and brown oxfords? I'm trying to find a better look for my sunday best
Would love to know the pattern and fabric in that suit around 5:12. The blue with black. If that's not a $1000 suit I'll go to the Houston location this week!
Hi Keri, I am a custom made specialist in Suitsupply Hasselt (Belgium)! I own a dark brown houndstooth suit from Marling & Evans. Definitely one of my favourites! Would love to be able to visit the mill in the future.
Hello RMRS I love your channel. I'm new in all about suits. My question is about the dress shirt. Cuff links or regular button and why? Thank you and blessings.
In my 60s---used to work in a high rise in the financial district in Chicago in the 90's/early 2000s--so was suited up daily. I had to build a wardrobe from scratch and wasn't that interested in clothes. Three points I learned: Stores/salesperson--When you are first shopping around talk to the sales guy. When you find a salesperson who is knowledgeable, if he/she keeps a book on you (cuttings/notes on everything you bought) and there is good price/value ratio--you are done store shopping. (Your sales person will end up pulling clothes they know you will like and will fill out your wardrobe--and will notify you of sales and/or private sales. Saves you time and money. They go to another store? Follow them if you can.) Tailors--hopefully the store tailor is fitting the suit--not the sales person. Has been there awhile and knows their business. Talk to him or her respectfully and understand they are professionals. Tip them--especially if they are doing something quick for you. Designers--When you find a designer who's fit matches your proportions (and who's look matches your need) go back to that designer. I'm short and had a 12" drop between shoulders and waist. I could walk into a Hugo Boss Single or Double breasted and it fit perfectly--only needed sleeves 1/4" off and trousers hemmed. I was in an elevator one day--alone with a woman I didn't know. The elevator stopped on her floor, she got out, but turned and stopped the elevator door from closing. She looked at me and said "I just have to tell you--you're the best dressed guy in this building." Talk about flattering!
No Suit Supply in my state. Would you recommend Men's Warehouse or should I order online if that's all I have? I went there once and got a suit once but I had no idea what I was doing at the time. Looking back, I don't think it was a good experience
At 175lbs with a 315lb squat, pleats are necessary. I've gotten slim fit pants in the past and always had to get a much bigger waist then have a tailor bring it in. Even still, way too restrictive on the legs

Always great having you my friend! You already know I love those Apron Derby’s for the Chicago Winters! Super stylish and super functional as well.

I enjoy that even after following RMRS for years there's still a lot to learn.
Love so many of the looks you had on. That white coat was beautiful on you and I really like the Derbys!
Like the derby for the winter. We get super cold, not many days with slush, great if you're parked in the underground which still gets cold, full of puddles and dirty.
My dad taught me how to fold the four corner pocket hankie, must be silk, real polished , classy look.
this is the most comprehensive suit vid ever. I've been watching your vids for a long time and this vid is a good refresher for everything
The shoes are a perfect look for the description
YES,
I like the derbys !
I have flat feet,
So something like this is perfect for
my feet !
DML.
nice video Antonio. great tips. however, i would like to point out that your pants length could be shorter. many times, there were 2 obvious breaks at the front, and sometimes the pants had a break at the back - definitely not flattering!
Love this. Shared it with my lady. Question though, we talk about quality, but we never talk about how to determine quality, cause let's be honest the salesman only sells quality (right!)...
Love a goog looking sport jacket! Just recently purchased a couple...a 2 button and 3 button. Ones a Herringbone twill...love it! Enjoy your videos!
Thnks for video. Im just about to get my first purchase of professional suits. Nice timing
Brilliant as always...Worthy half and hour on RUclips for the whole week...Btw, it is very unforunate for not having Suitsupply in Turkiye
Antonio great video full of useful information
I love the sports jacket and the blue/black suit plenty of ideas
I want that olive green suit with the vest! 🔥
The Derbys looks fine! 👍
I definitely need to get a new dark colored suite .
Only recently got these feeds - late to the party. Great content, Tony. My father shared the following with me. REPORTER: Yogi, you look really cool in a seersucker suit. BERRA: You don't look so hot, either. Your opening to this episode had me recall a fond memory. Thank you.
Great video. Love to see and understand suiting types and styles.
7:40 Yes. Agreed. No more skinny jeans.
Solid solid solid info Antonio. One of your masterpiece videos. Great work.
Should I get antaeus channel or armani intensenly with you ? My last EDP was Tom ford extreme, please help me decide thanks
Great vid! 👍
Hello Tesla. I enjoyed ur video and I have learned so MUCH! Thank U! Love the rollneck and tweed jacket my go to!
Apron derby’s for sure. Midwest winters can get intense. 🇺🇸
Great video guys really informative and great for guys looking for suits
Thanks.
Second vid of yours I’ve watched. Solid content and well done. Thank you.
Loving the content. I’m 5’8” with a stocky build … I’ve heard some say that the double breasted look in outerwear and suits isn’t good for my body type. Makes me look shorter. But I love the style and want to be ready when it really comes back. Thoughts?
Hey Antonio! Really enjoyed this video!!
I absolutely love a great fitting sport coat. You can do so much with them.
My brother-in-law once asked if m6 suit was custom.
I answered no + asked why?
He said, became the fit was so good.
LOL 😆
"Timestamps:" -- VERY GOOD! Cheers!
The Chelseas work wonders in Montreal winter, as long as it's not suede.
I love sport coats too, my friends make fun of me but then they show up wearing one because they know I will be!
Now im my 40's I'm more of a sports jacket/ Blazer fan!👌🏻
Great video Antonio! I also love the sport jacket you were wearing throughout the video, is it from Suit Supply as well?
26:30 oh yeah, I'm a big sports jacket guy. I'm a suit guy too, but when I need to level up -- whether it's a collared shirt and jeans, or a long-sleeve button up and dress slacks -- that jacket adds a little panache to the outfit.
Thank you Antonio! Years and years learning from you.
Always love your content. Looking forward to the next video.
Hi Antonio, did you get your pocket square from Fort Belvedere? It looks very much like one of theirs.
Opinion on light gray herringbone jacket with a white shirt and red v-neck sweater and red tie and tan chinos with and brown oxfords? I'm trying to find a better look for my sunday best
I like sports jacket too
But I’m a bigger fan on the 3 piece suits
Have 2 of each and seems like is enough for me.
Would love to know the pattern and fabric in that suit around 5:12. The blue with black. If that's not a $1000 suit I'll go to the Houston location this week!
What a great video, I manage a small mill in England that makes cloth for Suitsupply. (Marling & Evans Ltd)
Hi Keri, I am a custom made specialist in Suitsupply Hasselt (Belgium)! I own a dark brown houndstooth suit from Marling & Evans. Definitely one of my favourites! Would love to be able to visit the mill in the future.
stay with fitted suit. The length on the blazer can't be too long. Pant must be tapper (No loose fit)
Antonio great suit video. You've got great taste and style on men's fashion. Keep those videos rollin' your channel.
I appreciate that!
Three points I learned:
Stores/salesperson--When you are first shopping around talk to the sales guy. Follow them if you can.)
Tailors--hopefully the store tailor is fitting the suit--not the sales person.
This was amazing info.
New subscriber. Thank you for the videos and the content of your channel
Great 👍 tips, with all respect you look sharp in a suit 👌 the shoes are sharp.
Where can I find that nice white coat he had on in one of those videos
No Suit Supply in my state. Would you recommend Men's Warehouse or should I order online if that's all I have? I went there once and got a suit once but I had no idea what I was doing at the time. Looking back, I don't think it was a good experience
All about the sports coat
At 175lbs with a 315lb squat, pleats are necessary. I've gotten slim fit pants in the past and always had to get a much bigger waist then have a tailor bring it in. Even still, way too restrictive on the legs
OMG what a store. Wish I could shop there in person. :)
