For those having difficulty with the audio, the closed captions really help a lot. I've hiked from Low Gap Shelter to Tray Mountain Shelter and remember how hard those last few miles felts, a lot of big climbs. Not surprised at the mouse in your tent at Low Gap. I stayed in the shelter and while packing up in the dark, I turned around and found a bold little fellow going after my food bag. You're doing great!
Super inspired by you real, honest emotions.. thank you for sharing the emotional part of the journey, as well as the views. Planning my first hike now.. keep on keepin on!
Every spring I search RUclips and hope that I will find somebody who's thru-hike I want to follow. I've never found someone so early that has captured my interest. I wish you nothing but success, and I envy you for your journey. Stay safe, stay focused, and you will succeed. Here in Pennsylvania, our state flower is the Mountain Laurel. It should be in bloom by the time you get here.
You're doing amazing and cant thank you enough for sharing your hike, views and comments. It's so nice to hear that hikers are encouraging each other. So awesome
That wind made it sound like a chilly morning! I love how you wake up and just get after the hike for the day! Those icicles were super cool! Love following your journey!
You're doing awesome.. Pounding out some descent milage right out the gate.. It's been awhile for me, so thank you for sharing your adventure... I miss it out there so much.. I'll be with you til the end of your journey... Safe Travels and happy vibes! 🖤
it's fun to see the hogpen gap trail . i have been on that one a lot in the 70s. i always wanted two pepsi's from the cleveland ga gas station on way back from low gap. good luck to you
Thank you for sharing! You’re videos are encouraging for me as a hiker who hopes to do the AT next year, I really appreciate you sharing your journey. Safe travels and stay strong!
Way to go girl! I live in the beautiful state of New Hampshire and right now I’m lying in bed with a heating sheet on top and one on the bottom. So I am “toasty warm“. I really enjoy the scenery and the fact that you’re taking time to stop and show scenery that would not be visible in the summer due to the “ Green tunnel“. You’re covering a lot of mileage each day and I’m wondering what kind of “ wilderness/hiking background“ do you have?
Great job out there, keep it up. You're doing great for starting so early. I did a flip flop last year - it was a blast. Your conditions are tough, but you will persevere. Keep on hammering and pressing north.
@@rebeccastephens6684 Sure Rebecca, I started on March 18 2021 from Linden VA and went north to Katahdin. I then went down to GA and hiked north from Amicalola Falls State Park back up to Linden VA. I finished on Sept 19 2021. Some have classified this as a northbound flip-flop wrap around hike.....I just ref to it as a non-traditional flip-flop. Good luck with your journey, be safe and reach out again if I can be of further assistance.
Been watching your videos from when you first announced. Your first four days are inspiring, keep up your trek, you will do well. One small note volume when you are speaking is some what low, but you will adjust, thanks for sharing your adventure !
360 here :) 1:01 throttle, thank you so much for the trail name I will accept it :-) you are such an amazing lady you are knocking this out. Just to reiterate what she is saying, it is extremely windy that day 30+ mph winds and the day after they were flash floods everywhere I had gotten off the trail at Unicoi because I had twisted my ankle really bad more about that later. Throttle pass such an amazing spirit about her rate for her all the way to Maine :) also the CC really helps stand what she is saying due to the Highwinds, close caption is great it picks up everything
@@KNAOutdoors2022 Need to go see the doctor today, still tender to the touch and a number of people have all said 360 is my name so I’ll take it :-) thank you so much
If there is a mouse in your tent you are entitled to be loud! I hope he didn't chew a hole to get in. Nice job staying with it after a rough night. You made the right decision to bring micro spikes (I remember your video where you were trying to decide), looks like they are a must.
If I was a bettin' man, I'd be betting that you will do just fine. Enjoy every moment of your adventure, even the sucky parts. They will have value you won't understand until later.
Good thing u have micro spikes, and, yah, I had a mouse crawl into my mouth when I was on the trail, anyways, keep posting, ur inspiring to get in shape and hit the trail....the good thing about starting during the winter, is that u don't have worry about mosquitoes and bugs
Another great video! I think Rebecca/Skittles (PCT, CDT) had some audio issues at one point last year and I believe it turned out to be her case interfering with her phone microphone. Something to consider - I can’t remember if you’re filming on your phone or a GoPro.
Agreeing with the other comments here, the audio is definitely challenging when there's any wind at all. Your camera seems to pick up your footsteps and air movements more than your voice. Are you using a GoPro? I've heard that's a common issue with them. We're enjoying your journey thus far though, hopefully can get the audio issues ironed out along the way. The winter & cold weather hiking is gorgeous!
Just started following you. I’m enjoying the hiking through your videos. Looking for others to follow for 2022. Anybody have any suggestions? Thank you!
From the looks of the Rhodendron leaves, it was COLD, especially with the wind. You are doing great. I noticed that when you are walking without your tracking poles, they are attached to your pack and under your arms where you can get to them quite easily. How do you have them attached?
I've been wondering that too about the poles. I'm thinking maybe wedged between the pack strap and body somehow. I'd also be curious to know if the poles are collapsed or extended while in the stowed position. I like that they're out of the way but easily accessible.
I’m enjoying your videos but like many have said the Audio is terrible. We can’t heat you. Possibley you are covering the mic while holding your phone? Be safe and enjoy your journey
Very nice videos. I'm curious about one thing. You seem to be using a tarp for a tent and it's open at the bottom. Aren't you concerned about snow and rain blowing in, plus the wind? When it warms up, everything outside can come inside. Insects, mice, snakes may be chasing rodents over the top of you as they hunt around the shelters at night. I know you thought this out and would love to know your reasoning. Hope you have time to answer. I wish you great success on the AT and look forward to watching you take that last step on Khatadin.
@@KNAOutdoors2022 My mistake, then. In the first video, it looked open on the bottom. Thanks for the info. We're all pulling for you. Sounds like you have an amazing family.
Never keep any food in your tent. Be sure to wash your hands after eating. The scent of food will attract mice and bears! Check for any holes the mice may have chewed through your tent and mend them. Be careful. I wish you well.

Your doing great - well done. Looks chilly!
Those icicles were really beautiful! I just think you’re amazing, to be out there spiking it through the snow and ice, on your own.💪🏻
The isolation must be difficult for you. You have all of nature, everyday to keep you company. Keep going.

Glad to see others are saying that your audio is inaudible. I hope you can correct it because I am enjoying watching your journey.🤗

Well it looks like you're about 60 miles or so in to the hike. You still had a few views on this day too. You're doing great!
It was 18 degrees the night I was up there with blowing wind. Had one kid leave the shelter because he was not prepared for the cold.
I remember Tray. It kicked my butt lol
Hah, my son will be inviting the mice into our tent. Good to see what the trail conditions are like first hand. Hike on!

I would have made all kinds of noise if I found a mouse in my tent!
Yikes, did the mouse chew thru to get in your tent?
Didn’t have it zipped completely closed.
