      Not that I agree with the subscription, but if you've never been to a movie theater D-Box, I highly recommend trying it. Although not perfect, it's similar to a Universal Studios "Simulated Ride" where it'll tilt you to make it feel like you're going fast/falling/etc, and vibrate with each impact.
      Me and my GF tried it when GoTG3 came out, any time they were in a space ship, it would slowly circle around to make it feel like you were weightless in space. Any action movie is pure gold with these chairs in my opinion...but the "Gaming" chair I don't recommend, even though the regular chair is twice the price, it seems like it has more punch with way less noise.

      I haven't finished the vid yet but I watched Dave2D's vid. I think it adds more game support or something? Like custom motion/vibration models for different games and more specifically different cars (cuz this is basically a worse sim racing motion rig) Edit: still insane tho

      @@blindfire3167I'm more concerned that you're supposed to be paying a premium price tag for a supposedly premium gaming sim chair, when in reality you're getting a mediocre gaming chair and a mediocre gaming sim. You're way better off getting a good chair and a good sim instead, even if it is a bit more expensive.

    • @blindfire3167
      @blindfire3167 Год назад +4

      @@user-el5lt9sd5t Yeah I agree, the chair is just a "Well we made it cheaper and for gamers!" attempt but by making it cheaper they made it 3x worse than the theater seat they've been working on for over a decade now. Even bigger insult is actually charging a sub to USE it's precoded movie/games...which I get isn't exactly easy to do, but when the original theater seat costs like $4200+ (which I'll still recommend) you'd think all of that comes with it since you're paying over double what you'd get for this garbage "gaming chair" or AT LEAST allowing people to make their own profiles and share them...but of course, Businesses have to ruin everything "We need to make as much money as possible off people, nickel and dime everything so we (execs) can pocket the money and ruin the economy...but at least I'll have my 3rd yacht with my 8th golden toilet attached to it!"

With a cheap amp you might get away with approx. 100$ cost and can integrate it in your setup with rca. It might not be as advanced as this chair but it does not rattle, is easy to add to your rig and comes in at a much lower price.

  • @xanderwusky
    @xanderwusky Год назад +1

    The only significant use case for something like this imo is sim driving. It’s even a little more niche then that as competitive people wouldn’t use this.
    I really don’t know about the design though, high price aside. I already have my doubts on a lot of stuff.
    The wheel base looks very fragile with those weird hooks at the end. That shape will put a lot of stress on the bend. I thought they probably used metal but on the pictures it seems more like plastic (the shape would also be hard to make from metal). If it is plastic that’s not good, I can almost promise you it will break.
    What doesn’t help with that is the screw on part. Normally almost chairs have a gas spring. That doesn’t just make the height adjustable but also dampens the impact when you sit down. With the stew on base I assume there might still be a little play but it won’t do nearly as much. That means every time you sit down or adjust you hit those wheels pretty hard. (And the heavy chair doesn’t help either).
    The rod also looks fairly thin. Now this might be fine, steel is very strong but especially with the price and that it will need to handle a lot of shaking I think it could have been a little thicker.
    The real issue is the height adjustment though. What is this? A thread and a grub screw to set your height? I get you need more rigid then a gas spring to be able to carry over the vibration but this ain’t it. This entirely removes swivel from your chair and relies on the wheels to do that. Also I strongly doubt how well that grub screw will hold with all the shaking (which btw will also vibrate other screws lose). The grub screw will also damage the thread while doing so. It’s a bad solution.
    Also a subscription is ridiculous for a chair. Everything is trying to get you to spend a few bucks a month on it just so you won’t notice how much you spend on them. And by the sounds without the subscription the chair is useless.
    Imo if this is what they wanted to make they should have just gone all in on the sim racing aspect. Remove the wheels entirely and put it on a stable base. That removes the need for almost everything that sucks about this chair and might actually make it a good product (even if very niche).

    • @xanderwusky

    $2500 + $10 per month and they couldn't even be bothered to include features you find on some $100 chairs like good padding on the arm rests or any basic adjustment levers. This video is just more proof that when you buy a gaming chair, 90% to 95% of the price is paying for the word "gaming" to be slapped on the box somewhere. All it needs now is a faulty firmware update to brick it in after the warranty expires so they can say "you did something wrong when updating and the warranty is over, time for you to buy the newer model!"
    My $200 non-gaming chair may not have built in vibration, but it is magnitudes more comfortable and adjustable and I could easily add vibration if I wanted it by attaching a $50 bass shaker to it.

    For anyone that wants an actually useful version of this, search for a Drum Throne ButtKicker (that's the name brand but there are plenty of very good generics).
    It attaches to any seat and hooks up to an amp. It's been used in the Drumming world for years and years and I cant recommend them enough

    missed opportunity, engineers don't know what they're doing. they could have simply went to a bluetooth audio low latency connection and have a 2.1 speaker setup in the chair. this way you utilize the chair as speakers doing without the clutter of desktop speakers and subwoofer that is close and powerful that you feel it while being much cheaper

    I never would have thought that I'd replay Colton's laughter - true tears of joy could be seen on him xD
    ...BUT 10$?! Like 1$ could be justifiable as I get that they have to tailor each movie and game manually, although 1$ from userbase of 50000 users is still a joke for both parties involved. Or at least I hope that they are using like "the code" of the game and not just bass and treble.
    I was waiting when some company will make this haptic-vest or haptic-chair thing with maintained catalogue. However it turned out exactly how I expected. Paid subscription with outrageous price tag when you take into account >2000$ price of the chair and you have no guarantee that this thing won't get dropped after a year.
    It would be even funnier if some game identified it as a cheat :D
    I am all for "4D gaming" as we lost the jank and quirkiness in gaming. Only VR is the last hope of intriguing innovation, but that will IMHO never become nowhere as popular as companies hope so...

      ALL of the Dbox functions are hidden behind a $120usd yearly paywall. It's just a $2399USD chair if you don't pay up.

    as a sim racer myself you would never want to use a chair with wheels , on a steering wheel set up everytime you brake your gonna send yourself backwards , no consistancy and just looks like a gimmik chair for $$$$

    Imagine paying that much for the pleasure to own a chair that needs a monthly payment, a mediocre PC app, an account, a power cable, (wifi connection?), and it does not even work that well
