I love how people are fully willing to pay more money, so something has a “Premium” feel while definitely not being actually premium for the price. Then all the accessories are overpriced and most of them should be included.
I get that they are propositioning this as a high end desk. Plus a lot of people who work from home can get thier company to just buy it for them and write it off. So if that's who they are targeting the price point probably works. But if you are going to sell a $2,500 desk, I don't think the default finish should be "Grey Plywood." Nothing screams fancy like plywood lmao.
I wish the 4-leg design was more common on height adjustable desks, but I understand that it makes the cost much higher. One just rarely gets the same stability at standing height with the "T" or "C" legs.
The first standing desk I have actually been interested in. Imagine integrating this with HomeAssistant so that when I'm on the way back from walking the dog it's already in standing mode. That would be fantastic.
Because there is a very specific market that only cares about throwing away money on pointless things when they are told they are "premium", and they have nailed that market with this desk. Basically its for Apple/Mac fanboys.
Easily done when people try to make a product "smart" or "gamer". Not a good sign at all for longevity if there is the need for an account, and firmware upgrades. There are products for which I understand it, but a desk. That is in my opinion getting silly.
I got some executive desks for our home PCs, from a store that caters specifically to corporate offices. They're not motorised but they are a decent size with 1" MDF all around, nutserts in all the right spots so you don't have to worry about drilling into wood or tearing it apart with woodscrews.. $190USD each I just.. cannot understand spending so much money on a desk, even if I were rich If you wanna go fancy, get a 2" butcher block cut to the right size, some sit/stand legs from your favourite company, metal rails from the hardware store in whatever side seems appropriate for cable channels and build it yourself.. Assuming your hardware store can cut the butcher block to size then the only tool you'll need is a drill, + measuring tape/pencils etc for planning Put some care into it, use good fixing hardware and coat/protect the butcher block when it's done - that thing will last for many years, well beyond the life of the motor/controller in the legs that's for sure.. and would cost like 1/6th of what this does
Then you saw you had to give up all sense of privacy and self-respect by connecting it to their server just to have your phone control it, with an account required that contains your real name and address and payment info, just so it can ask the server for permission to lower itself whenever the phone requests it, and you realise, it IS robbery, you don't even own the damn thing!
@@vocassen I mean I am on board with most of what you say but you clearly own it and can access pretty much all features without having the app or an account. Not all features probably but it's not like you lose the functionality of changing the height or the light if you dont have an account
@@Sadreath From their website it sounds like you loose all access to the app, and it also looks like you require the app to change the light color. Correct me if I'm wrong. And I consider stuff like setting correct sitting/standing presets an essential feature, lest you will sit there fumbling about every time to get the height just right
do not fully tighten the screws that hold the desktop to the frame until all the screws are started. if you shift it a bit left for instance, and wrench down the first few screws, you won't be able to jiggle the last screws into place. Get them all seated but loose, and then go tighten them around each corner for even tightening. Same principle as putting a wheel on a car.
Great video and a nice looking desk -- but WAY overpriced for what it is. The second you mentioned the desk has an app, I rolled my eyes -- and then for the first time in my life I saw a desk needing a firmware upgrade and I laughed. Account required to use the $2000 desk I just bought? Yeahno.
Colton if you're looking for the desk to buy, buy an Uplift desk. I had them recommended to me, and I've recommended them to others. Everyone loves them. Uplift, that's the brand.
Imagine, being tired after a long day of hard work. You put your laptop in the slot a little too far to the wrong side and there it goes. Straight through!
I bought a Flexispot E7 with an admittedly only 60x24" top for $470 and it not only goes higher but still feels crazy strong. I'm sure Beflo's desk has a tougher frame with that wrap-around rectangular design, but to me at least that's not worth $1500.
The idea is actually really cool. NOW MAKE IT BIGGER DAMMIT. 60" is NOT enough for a desk of this class. My desk is 78" wide and I'm STILL running out of space lol.

If you wanna go fancy, get a 2" butcher block cut to the right size, some sit/stand legs from your favourite company, metal rails from the hardware store in whatever side seems appropriate for cable channels and build it yourself.. Assuming your hardware store can cut the butcher block to size then the only tool you'll need is a drill, + measuring tape/pencils etc for planning
Put some care into it, use good fixing hardware and coat/protect the butcher block when it's done - that thing will last for many years, well beyond the life of the motor/controller in the legs that's for sure.. and would cost like 1/6th of what this does
First I thought the desk was highway robbery. Than I saw the accessory cost and the desk seemed downright reasonable
And I consider stuff like setting correct sitting/standing presets an essential feature, lest you will sit there fumbling about every time to get the height just right
@@vocassenyou can just use Bluetooth with the desk
Colton nail it in this video! Very funny and very informative at the same time! 🎉
You know you're a dad when you watch people building desks for fun
I'm not a dad but I'm watching this for fun in the middle of the night lol
do not fully tighten the screws that hold the desktop to the frame until all the screws are started. if you shift it a bit left for instance, and wrench down the first few screws, you won't be able to jiggle the last screws into place.
Yeahno.
Nobody said you HAVE to use the app
When putting anything together you put in all the screws before you tighten them, it help to line them all up.
everything is too good for him 😢
It's LMG telling Colton he needs a new desk . . .
Glad you guys could hire a freelancer to review stuff.
I frigging love Colton, his energy is just perfect!!
Can we have more videos with Colton please? He's such a good host (better than Linus imo)
I like the subtle nod to jet lag
$2500 and it doesn't even do high power type A and C
Finally a nice desk with integrated controls instead of those ugly panels that just hang from the desk and it's big. Best standing desk I've seen.
props to the editor for this episode, well for all of them, but this one was great
I love Colton, please don't get fired again :(
Math with Colton was the best bit ever
Colton if you're looking for the desk to buy, buy an Uplift desk. I had them recommended to me, and I've recommended them to others. Everyone loves them. Uplift, that's the brand.
I like his chaotic vibe
Yvonne’s hair looked great in this 🔥 nice desk too, definitely the grey and a more minimal set of accessories would be cool
I want more "Math with Colton". I learned a lot!!!!
Cant wait for the day when my desk doesnt update its firmware and im unable to use it. We truly live in the best timeline.
What I learned from this video is, "Colton is here for it."
Wait so does the old set still exist? Why did they switch sets
Imagine, being tired after a long day of hard work. You put your laptop in the slot a little too far to the wrong side and there it goes. Straight through!
Love the edits on this one!
My man dropped the desk and said there is a crack 🥺
I bought a Flexispot E7 with an admittedly only 60x24" top for $470 and it not only goes higher but still feels crazy strong. I'm sure Beflo's desk has a tougher frame with that wrap-around rectangular design, but to me at least that's not worth $1500.
this camera movement did a number on my vertigo, actually had to hide the video to be able to even listen. Gimbal or tripod time lol
Love how Colton lights up when he hears Yvonne say he's an executive.
I was not expecting a sweetwater sponsership on an LTT video. Sweetwater rocks. The desk looks pretty good too.
There's never a 2m option when I look! But I like it. About 1k too much for me, but its nice
Coltons an executive?... Colton I'll be your friend
Isn't Colton due for an AMD Ultimate Tech Upgrade? (and maybe the other people who got their builds during the first part of the series like Emily?)
The idea is actually really cool. NOW MAKE IT BIGGER DAMMIT. 60" is NOT enough for a desk of this class. My desk is 78" wide and I'm STILL running out of space lol.
Colton really should host more videos
That's really hard to do when you're fired.
17:29 How does it feel to be promoted so suddenly?
Colton saying "I'm an executive?" killed me
Normally colton gets fired, in this video he got a promotion!
3:46 a LTT screwdriver zoom in 😍
