They started with comedy sketches satirizing extreme caricatures of common Brazilian personalities and situations. His previous series, Jorel's Brother, is not as deep as Wake Up Carlo, but is also more a kin to a Brazilian kid reality, with many cultural contextualized jokes and a very Recess mixed with Flapjack vibe. It was until recently available on Apple TV outside Brazil.

Started watching battle kitty because one of my friends started talking about it. It turned out to be a pretty funny, creative show, and kid cosmic is definitely one of my favorite shows aside from Hilda. The art, heartfelt messages, I love it so much.

@@SmashedTomatoes Unfortunately I don't think there are oficial subs (it would be difficult to translate some scenes) so you might need to look for fan subs. However there is an older Brazilian show called Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids that is subbed and dubbed. It is animated by the same studio but I believe it's made by completely different people.
Glad Dragons Rising is so high up! Also yes the reason why people say the old show ia better is no doubt nostalgia. Dragons Rising steps up the quality of the show in every aspect especilay in form of its long form storytelling. When you look at Ninjago 2011-2022 as one big story its realy a whole mess which you can realy tell when you reach its ending season Crystalized.

If you have the time and patience, please check it out! It doesn't have really a plot, but it's a ton of fun.

I hope that we see Carol more in season 2 (if we get a season 2). I would love for them to reunite with the Guabitos Collection! I wonder, in season 2, if they´ll tackle more dark topics. I actually agree that Mount Solage is kinda a bad parental figure. I mean, she probably has all of the babies on the island worried that they´ll be forgotten when there´s a way to get those people back. But does she tell them that? No! She waited 20 years to say that! Does she even talk about the people that randomly disappear? (Ex: Carol and Carlo) She also forgets where the babies our sometimes! (Ex: Madame Brugel) She may forgot, but if she could spot that Carlo and Berto were missing from the crowd, she could do the same thing with Madame Brugel! Anyway, I love the series!
A season 2 could go hard on exploring parental figures and the whole thing with tatiana turning into a baby again could come into play with it's own arc about nostalgia and the desire to go back to those simpler times. Definately will get up and clap if they don't cancel the show, but the viewership doesn't paint a very good picture, sadly.
I know I'm not the easiest to understand audibly, so even if the captions aren't perfect, I like providing them. Beyond that it's just great to have em in case someone who needs them wants to watch my stuff

I'm surprised you could get past the first episode of voltron because it was just kind of annoying and the ending joke was literally the worst placed fart joke I've seen in a show since Cleopatra in space tried to add fart jokes. Also while checking your other video I'm a bit disappointed you talked about Voltron and She-ra but not The epic tales of captain underpants as that was also originally made for netflix and while was made from hype from the movie has no ties to the movie. It's kind of it's own take with elements from both the books, movie and their own ideas. Season 2 I would highly recommend.
I could probably make a whole video exclussively on dreamworks animations that derive from films, like the captain underpants one you mention. There's 6 seasons of puss in boots, 8 seasons of spirit, 4 seasons of the croods, 6 of dragons, it's just a little too much of stuff that doesn't really have a plot. Even the captain underpants show would probably rank low since I enjoy more depth that it seems to have initially, but I thought that of many shows that ended up being extremely interesting and creative!

It can seem as a weak point for especially new viewers, but the original show after a while, particularly after s10, tended to have a bad habit of mentioning something and then never bringing it up again (me when i become a genocidal dictator for 60+ years against my will and my feelings about it are never brought up until 4 seasons later in a book 😭). But there's other tells such as the original production being on another site (close enough), or lack of availability on other regions, (Turbo fast isn't on netflix mexico, for example). Sonic prime is a SEGA property, but the show is produced by netflix. Note that I made it a rule to exclude film to show adaptions because I didn't want to watch 8 seasons of a show I'm probably going to be bored by, but that's probably a me thing.

@@shunkaidou69 it was also sold as interactive, which didn't go down the best with audiences because Netflix interactive stuff usually involves constantly doing stuff, I imagine many thought it was practically a videogame like Minecraft story mode. Sad to think one of the cooler aspects of the show may actually also be it's problem.
I remember when Acorda Carlo first dropped in the "upcoming shows" list on netflix, the only teaser that showed up was carlo dancing to the car beeps for twenty seconds straight. No character interactions, no context, nothing. It's a funny scene but it showed nothing about the show. i thought that was kinda funny
I thought that kinda stunk, if it was a teaser trailer, I'd be fine with it, but to this date they only have that teaser and the actual trailer, they didn't even upload any cool clips like the blaus song, the part where the cat guy escapes jail and faffs around, or any of the many other clipable scenes.

That's a single interactive special, and pinky malinky is also made by the same people I think? Either way, pinky malinky was pretty bad and I was glad to see battle kitty was better by a LONG SHOT, so I wasn't interested in we lost our human until I watched battle kitty, to I did like it's animation style.
I don't like Sonic Prime at all. It feels like it's treating me like a child, and not in an endearing way. The fact that it's supposed to be part of the main continuity makes me like it even less; it's even worse than Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World in my opinion.
I definately like it more than lost world and colors, but it doesn't feel right. Sonic X in general is a better show, and I'm tired of whoever is running the sonic writing and story because they consistently manage to blunder most aspects of the early and post production.
@@SmashedTomatoes I don't know what you mean by whoever is managing the writing and story because the 2010s games were all written by Ken Pontac and Warren Graff. Everything (except for Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Prime) since most of the IDW comics and Sonic Frontiers has been absolutely fantastic under the writing (though not perfect) of Ian Flynn, including the ongoing Dark Beginnings shorts for Sonic x Shadow Generations.
@@ProjectShadow50 I donno, excluding the IDW comics, I feel like whatever they have written feels constricted, it doesn't have that sense of awe and personality that the adventure era games had. Even frontiers, which is a stepup from 2010s, feels incredibly bland between the art direction and character writting. It feels like the broad strokes of what I'd expect from sonic, and the biggest giveaway is just the cutscenes in frontiers, they are almost all "sonic beats up a giant" or "talking". Must agree, they are getting better at it, but I hope we get a game with a story I can't summarize in less than 50 words the next time. Maybe shadow generations will give us something? I'm hopeful!

I didn't expect seen a RUclipsr talk about "Acorda, Carlo!", the reason for this cartoon isn't be so relevant or famous, probably the fact is a Brazilian cartoon, something who the must part the public who like cartoons ignores, which is a shame... In fact, even in Brazil this show isn't that popular in comparison with his famous ""brother""" cartoon: Irmão do Jorel (Jorel's Brother), both shows has the same creator, art directors, and same voice actors(in Brazil) too, also the same type of humor, but in different ways... @SmashedTomatoes the show name, is in portuguese (which is our official language), and all characters name are portuguese too and familiar, a exemplary is Alberto Boa Pessoa(Good Person), where here the world Pessoa means "People" but also is regular used as a nickname, a lot of the backgrounds are inspired and very accurate with a regular metropolis from here, also the group music who has the illegal radio station, play a genre call P-Funk, not punk, eho is mixed of Funk (a brazilian, or latin american type of music, regularly with lyrics focus only in s3x) and Punk (a type rock), The Brazil is very very culture, and in the 5 regions they're divided, the culture, diversity, accent, words and arquitures are different... basically, in outline, COME TO BRAZIL🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

I think much of you missed in wake up, carlo! Is just the brazillian point of view, even the forgetfullness play a part of this. People here often say we suffer from cronic aminesia because we keep repeating the same patterns, politically speaking. Also many of the villans is also a reflection of the brazilian politics mdkdjdldk ANYWAY for obvious reasons a show made by brazillians make more sense to brazillians, but im so glad for the positw review!!! It actually VERY difficult to work in animation around here, so its a shame its noy very popular
I mean, I'm sure everything from a place can be interpreted from the political perspective of the place, since the creators and what they have to say is mostly based on experience. I try to not look much into those aspects since it's always kinda vague weather the creators really intended it as critique, or if it's just a result of their enviroment. Working on animation is difficult anywhere, so I don't imagine stuff in brazil is any easier 0.o

It's just not very remarkable, tho I do like the universe and some episodes are pretty cleaverly written. Guess a few people on earth know what it is given it's got like 5 seasons.
I feel like it's a case of the existance of the barrier of entry, it's likely people don't feel confident in getting in there, but the lack of marketing probably does something too!
I talked about bee and puppycat in more detail when I covered it for the first video, the season not on netflix is retold in the first few episodes of the netflix show to make sense with the new plot in it, so I would say it's fair to call lazy in space it's own thing compared to the pilot season.

I'm surprised you could get past the first episode of voltron because it was just kind of annoying and the ending joke was literally the worst placed fart joke I've seen in a show since Cleopatra in space tried to add fart jokes. Also while checking your other video I'm a bit disappointed you talked about Voltron and She-ra but not The epic tales of captain underpants as that was also originally made for netflix and while was made from hype from the movie has no ties to the movie. It's kind of it's own take with elements from both the books, movie and their own ideas. Season 2 I would highly recommend.
I could probably make a whole video exclussively on dreamworks animations that derive from films, like the captain underpants one you mention. There's 6 seasons of puss in boots, 8 seasons of spirit, 4 seasons of the croods, 6 of dragons, it's just a little too much of stuff that doesn't really have a plot. Even the captain underpants show would probably rank low since I enjoy more depth that it seems to have initially, but I thought that of many shows that ended up being extremely interesting and creative!
The Spirit show and Movie was my childhood. 😭 As a horse girl it was my go to show. Lol

and yeah, while i LOVE the original to bits and it has its incredible moments, alot of people dissing on the new show in comparison to the old one tends to be nostalgia baiters (the original show came out in 2011 and was targeted towards young boys, so you can imagine how insufferable the fanbase can be 😭). personally, the lows of the original show are VERY low, and much lower than the new one. obviously the new show hasnt had much of a chance to get that low yet, but with the stepping down of a certain producer and new head writers i'm much more confident and EXCITED for whats to come in comparison to how the original show left off)
A particular strength for this show personally as a fan coming from the previous one is them mentioning past events and whatnot. It can seem as a weak point for especially new viewers, but the original show after a while, particularly after s10, tended to have a bad habit of mentioning something and then never bringing it up again (me when i become a genocidal dictator for 60+ years against my will and my feelings about it are never brought up until 4 seasons later in a book 😭). Continuity?? IN MY LEGO SHOW?? holy moly

@@SquawkingtheTalk Biggest tell is that it has the netflix N in the promotional art. But there's other tells such as the original production being on another site (close enough), or lack of availability on other regions, (Turbo fast isn't on netflix mexico, for example).
Sonic prime is a SEGA property, but the show is produced by netflix.
Note that I made it a rule to exclude film to show adaptions because I didn't want to watch 8 seasons of a show I'm probably going to be bored by, but that's probably a me thing.

@@randomenafan8187 I watched wakfu season 4 in french and it's fantastic, a little rushed in the sense that it could have used 3-5 more episodes, but I still found it to be one of my favorites.

@@shunkaidou69 it was also sold as interactive, which didn't go down the best with audiences because Netflix interactive stuff usually involves constantly doing stuff, I imagine many thought it was practically a videogame like Minecraft story mode. Sad to think one of the cooler aspects of the show may actually also be it's problem.

I remember when Acorda Carlo first dropped in the "upcoming shows" list on netflix, the only teaser that showed up was carlo dancing to the car beeps for twenty seconds straight. No character interactions, no context, nothing. It's a funny scene but it showed nothing about the show. i thought that was kinda funny
I thought that kinda stunk, if it was a teaser trailer, I'd be fine with it, but to this date they only have that teaser and the actual trailer, they didn't even upload any cool clips like the blaus song, the part where the cat guy escapes jail and faffs around, or any of the many other clipable scenes.
I feel like I let my ears slip for just a moment, that's a whole sentence I've missed from this guy.

@@MatterOrNot well, the show was made off the toys and released in tandem so as to sell the toys better. The later movie and show do the same, so I donno if it's a butterfly effect.
There was another show made by the battle kitty creators I think,or maybe it was just a cameo,but it’s called “we lost our human” had lots of cameos,not sure if you watched it or not.
That's a single interactive special, and pinky malinky is also made by the same people I think? Either way, pinky malinky was pretty bad and I was glad to see battle kitty was better by a LONG SHOT, so I wasn't interested in we lost our human until I watched battle kitty, to I did like it's animation style.

I don't like Sonic Prime at all. It feels like it's treating me like a child, and not in an endearing way. The fact that it's supposed to be part of the main continuity makes me like it even less; it's even worse than Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World in my opinion.
I definately like it more than lost world and colors, but it doesn't feel right. Sonic X in general is a better show, and I'm tired of whoever is running the sonic writing and story because they consistently manage to blunder most aspects of the early and post production.
@@SmashedTomatoes I don't know what you mean by whoever is managing the writing and story because the 2010s games were all written by Ken Pontac and Warren Graff. Everything (except for Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Prime) since most of the IDW comics and Sonic Frontiers has been absolutely fantastic under the writing (though not perfect) of Ian Flynn, including the ongoing Dark Beginnings shorts for Sonic x Shadow Generations.
@@ProjectShadow50 I donno, excluding the IDW comics, I feel like whatever they have written feels constricted, it doesn't have that sense of awe and personality that the adventure era games had. Even frontiers, which is a stepup from 2010s, feels incredibly bland between the art direction and character writting. It feels like the broad strokes of what I'd expect from sonic, and the biggest giveaway is just the cutscenes in frontiers, they are almost all "sonic beats up a giant" or "talking".
Must agree, they are getting better at it, but I hope we get a game with a story I can't summarize in less than 50 words the next time. Maybe shadow generations will give us something? I'm hopeful!
Ninjago my beloved, (I clicked because I saw Arin and yes i went directly to that part)
I've been seeing this thing since the pilots so yeah, I think all versions of the show have it charm and yeah old Ninjago had it´s problems but i love it as equally as the new version... anyways, Arin does learn spinjitzu and nothing, absolutely nothing goes wrong :))))

I didn't expect seen a RUclipsr talk about "Acorda, Carlo!", the reason for this cartoon isn't be so relevant or famous, probably the fact is a Brazilian cartoon, something who the must part the public who like cartoons ignores, which is a shame...
In fact, even in Brazil this show isn't that popular in comparison with his famous ""brother""" cartoon: Irmão do Jorel (Jorel's Brother), both shows has the same creator, art directors, and same voice actors(in Brazil) too, also the same type of humor, but in different ways... Irmão do Jorel, being more comedic and Acorda, Carlo more philosophy

@SmashedTomatoes the show name, is in portuguese (which is our official language), and all characters name are portuguese too and familiar, a exemplary is Alberto Boa Pessoa(Good Person), where here the world Pessoa means "People" but also is regular used as a nickname, a lot of the backgrounds are inspired and very accurate with a regular metropolis from here, also the group music who has the illegal radio station, play a genre call P-Funk, not punk, eho is mixed of Funk (a brazilian, or latin american type of music, regularly with lyrics focus only in s3x) and Punk (a type rock), The Brazil is very very culture, and in the 5 regions they're divided, the culture, diversity, accent, words and arquitures are different...

I mean, I was gearing up for something awful and thought my theories where correct early on, but as I watched I realized how actually great it was, not only was it good, it won me over, which is very hard to do!

I think much of you missed in wake up, carlo! Is just the brazillian point of view, even the forgetfullness play a part of this. People here often say we suffer from cronic aminesia because we keep repeating the same patterns, politically speaking. Also many of the villans is also a reflection of the brazilian politics mdkdjdldk ANYWAY for obvious reasons a show made by brazillians make more sense to brazillians, but im so glad for the positw review!!! It actually VERY difficult to work in animation around here, so its a shame its noy very popular
I mean, I'm sure everything from a place can be interpreted from the political perspective of the place, since the creators and what they have to say is mostly based on experience. I try to not look much into those aspects since it's always kinda vague weather the creators really intended it as critique, or if it's just a result of their enviroment.
Working on animation is difficult anywhere, so I don't imagine stuff in brazil is any easier 0.o

I talked about bee and puppycat in more detail when I covered it for the first video, the season not on netflix is retold in the first few episodes of the netflix show to make sense with the new plot in it, so I would say it's fair to call lazy in space it's own thing compared to the pilot season.
