The premise for Bunny actually really makes me think of Heathers! Especially that in the movie they're all called Heather just like in the book they all call each other Bunny
That's what I thought, but younger people may not be aware of Heathers.
I need to see Heathers!!! 😌
If I had to describe your channel in one word, it would be "Enthusiastic". Thanks for making me smile 😊
Yes I love her energy, and it really seems genuine 😍
@@berenicethegirl I know, right. Imagine how excited she'll be when she's covering Summerween. I hope you're taking part too 👻
@@mcdoobies7328 I never do readathons but maybe I should!!
Good Morning! Ok So in a really not creepy way... lol...I just wanted to say that I am a 53 year old lover of books and also a High School English teacher and I also teach a reader's workshop. You were one of the first book tubers I discovered many years ago... and I still get really happy when I get a notification that you posted a video. You have such an endearing quality and seem like a really kind, intelligent, chill, honest and earthy person. So from this old lady, I just wanted to send a hello and let you know how much I enjoy all the info and positive vibes you share with people. Thanks for being you! : )
Respected Sir/Madam,
Please replace the dramas of Shakespeare and GB Shaw from the High School Literature syllabus.. And introduce some of the books which Gabby mentions.
From an 18 year old boy who hated Shakespeare in high school days.
@@subhajitbag5592 while I don't have any say in the writing of the current curriculum, rest assured that times are changing and the topic of choice reading is one that I stand for strongly. I offer student choice in my classroom and it is making quite a difference in reading for pleasure and thereby student growth. I do believe that many educators are really trying to make a difference in what students read in school. I know I am and have been for several years now.
@@subhajitbag5592 no, don't be a baby. maybe you don't like classics, but they have a lot of literary merit and things you can learn from them that tie back to history, philosophy, politics, psychology... not saying you can't enjoy "popular" books, but they're a different kind of entertainment. imagine if you went to a Painting class and they only taught you comic art from the last 5 years. it's not bad, but you should first learn about other kind of paintings in that class in order to be able to analyse anything. you can read the books you like in your own time :)
Thank you so much!!! 🥰😌❤️
@@subhajitbag5592 it's rather that I think you're too young in high-school to really understand and appreciate Shakespeare
The movie “I’m Thinking of Ending Things” is coming to Netflix in September! I can’t wait! Love the book!
I'm so excited too! I'm gonna make my whole family watch it lol
Can’t wait!!! Jessie Buckley is a fantastic actress too!!
I’m soooo excited the trailer looks soooo good!!! 😍😍😍
What did y'all think about the ending? I looooved the book, it was so engaging and I read it in one sitting!! I didn't love the end though, it felt like a cop out.
@@toree902 I thought the ending was super emotional. It was my favorite part
I just finished reading Home Before Dark by Riley Sager last night (or should I say early this morning!), & it is the most chilling ghost story I’ve ever come upon! Full of incredible images & enthralling twists & turns, I read it all in one sitting. It’s a definite page turner you will not be able to put down! Thank you, Gabby, for all your suggestions. 📚👻
I'm really glad I found your channel. I'm going through a tough time rn and your channel has been like a little ray of sunshine.
As soon as I turn hulu on, that movie pops up. I loved The Unhoneymooners, so on Monday I'll be watching the movie.
I love your intro and outro to your videos! I am feeling those 80’s vibes hardcore!
Thanks for these recommendations I will definitely check out Palm Springs because I loved the Unhoneymooners. Great video! 🤗
Home Before Dark was so good! Still trying to get over it!
I loved the book home before dark legit bc it was like then haunting Hill house so good
I think that you really like Bunny. Lol, I feel like you’ve recommended this a bunch of times. I have added it to my tbr just because of your persistence. 👍
Loved this video!!!! Let's have more like it.
I'm reading The Unhoneymooners now and loving it! It also doesn't hurt I've been to Hawaii and can picture the atmosphere really well. And love the concept of this video!
Thank you for the 2 free months! 😍 Also, great recs 👏
Bunny made me think of a cross between Heathers and The Craft
I just read home before dark last week and I absolutely loved it! And I also just watched the first episode of haunting of hill house and ahhh it was so good!😭 it totally gave me home before dark vibes! Can't wait to continue!😅
I’m so excited to read one to watch, it sounds so good!!!
The Sorry To Bother You twist is what finally convinced me to add Bunny to my TBR.
Haunting of Hill house is based on a book ironically.
So is Big Little Lies :D
@@koritsi2142 is a good book written by an Australian and is set in Sydney!
Okay now I have to read I'm Thinking of Ending Things. I looove Get Out so much. :) Thank youuu. 💚💚
Thank you for sharing brilliant choices you keep safe take care on your family 📚📚📚📖📖📖
I watched Palm Springs after you talked about in a vlog and I freaking loved it! The Unhoneymooners is a great recommendation for it!
Gabby I enjoyed Bunny good read. Thank you..
Another fantastic video.
Hello! I'd never heard of "One to watch". Thanks for adding to my tbr 😂😂😂😂 Great video, too!
Can I just say that the time I read "The Last Time I Lied" I was also watching AHS 1984 each week.,.. Fun times
I watched palm springs after watching this video and I really enjoyed it!
solid recommendations!
1) I love this! Have you ever considered doing tv/movie themed reading vlogs? (I.e. reading books like X)
2) "Stephen King writing on acid" sounds kind of redundant haha
3) have you read haunting of hill house? also A Head full of Ghosts by Paul Trembley
4) AHS: 1984 is similar to the Last Final Girls by Stephen Graham Jones. It isn't a camp story, but it is written in the style of a classic horror slasher film told like you are watching a movie.
Josh's Bookish Voyage I’ve considered doing a video ‘reading books inspired by black mirror or that have black mirror vibes’ haha but I never went through with it! /: but I love the idea of it. And no I haven’t read either of those yet! They’re both on my TBR though!
I definitely want to read Bunny and A Good Marriage! They both sound right up my street :)
The book Defending Jacob was so good....I couldn't put it down. I just have to finish the tv show, lol. Home Before Dark is one I want to read because it is similar to the Haunting of Hill House which was so good. Great video, makes me want to buy these books!!
I'm reading the Unhoneymooners now. Its so cute so far. Definitely need to check out that show though 👀
I love The Haunting of Hill House so can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Home Before Dark! I love your recommendations 🙂
AHS 1984 is 100% so similar to The Last Time I Lied and I gives me Final Girls vibes too! I have like 4 episodes left to finish that season. You are 100% right. So good! And One to Watch was The Bachelorette no doubt and I loved every second of the book. And now I feel like I need to watch The Haunting of Hill House because I loved Home Before Dark. I am obsessed with Riley Sager now because of you! Thank you for that lol
I'm always so upset when I see newly released books that I wanna read because I know that it's only gonna be a decent price for me to get all the way from Brazil in like centuries
You can get as a ebooks, they’re a lot cheaper.
omg me too 🥺 I get so sad adding all these 100+ reais books to my wishlist so I can remember them next year when the price gets lower lol
Yes haunting of the hill house and home before dark. I read it in one sitting
I LOVED AHS1984! It was so campy and fun and it had just enough gore and over-the-top kills to compensate for the ridiculous story 🤣 Hope you enjoy the rest of it! I really love it when Emma Roberts and Ryan Murphy team up-it’s always super fun!
yas Hunting of Hill house was so good. I must read Home Before Dark then
I don't watch The Bachelor/ette but I did love One to Watch!!
I do not watch scary/horror shows or movies but I just read my first Riley Sager, The Last Time I Lied, and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from him.
I haven't gotten to The Unhoneymooners yet 😪 I think next Feb I'm going to have to catch up on all the romance I am interested in, like the Bromance books! I want to watch Palm Springs for sure, as my husband and I both love Andy Samberg.
I loved Jane the Virgin so thank you for the rec!!! And now I’m going to make myself a grilled cheese sandwich 😊
Kimberly mcCreight is so underrated
So interesting about your grandmother being Hispanic, can you speak any Spanish or have it as a second language? I want to learn how to speak Spanish as a second language but I wish I had someone close to me who can speak Spanish to help me or to just have fun practicing the language!
Genna Wells no I took three years of Spanish in high school and I didn’t retain any of it 😭😫 my grandma died when I was 2 so unfortunately she wasn’t around long enough to teach me, my Dad never learned either for some reason 😫
loved Final Girls
Can you do this video with books that aren't so well known?
Hey Gabby, I am reading Night Swim by Megan Goldin too, i saw that u are currently reading it as well. I like so far, i hope u like it too.
I should be sleeping right now but Gabby uploaded so the sleep is cancelledttt
"i'm thinking of ending things" IS A BOOK?? wow no idea, i wanna watch the film because i'm a HUGE charlie kaufman fan, and i'm really excited for his adaptation.
That's cool, I didn't know you were part Mexican. Have you ever considered doing a book recommendation based on books that remind you of your family? I would love to read those books.
Sabrina's Spellbooks no I haven’t but that would be a cool idea for a video 🥰
YOU HAD ME AT MEAN GIRLS BUT WITH A CULT HELL YA !
it would be really lovely to see you give book recommendations based from the songs in folklore!!! hahahaah
Sel it’ll be the next video 🥰
the suspiria remake kinda feels like bunny as well
Its 1800 hours.. I was studying.. .. Gabby 's video comes out.. I leave my acads..and come watch this video. 😅❤.. She is such a bliss to watch.. Keep up the good work..Hope i see you getting a million subscribers 😊👍.. Love from India 🇮🇳
I haven’t read a Riley Sager book yet so which one would be good to start out with? Which one is your favorite ?
I’ve only read Lock Every Door and it was really good!
My personal favorites are Lock Every Door and Home Before Dark! 🥰 but they are all good!
I need some books to read like *the outerbanks* on netflix.
What about criminal minds ??
I read the book Home Before Dark and liked it
Have you watch Homecoming on Amazon Prime? Cause I really recommend you to
🤩
GABBY did u know that on Hulu home before dark is a series!! I had to tell u
If you liked the series You, you might like (IMO) If I Can't have you By Charlotte Levin
The moment when I realise I haven't read any of these books OR watched any of the shows/movies!! Today was the day I learnt I don't keep up with popular media hahaha
So I see what movie/TV show I would like to the book I loved. 😁📚❤
If you haven’t seen Heather’s, it’s soooo similar to bunny and it’s a cult classic!
Have you read the book Pretty Little Lies?
Bookish Raider nope!
@@gabbyreadshaven't read it either.
In the fridge the other night there was a chicken leg to nuke, which afterwards was difficult to eat sensibly. I decided to use a steak knife and fork but didn't do real well with it. So ofc I was transported way back in time to the night the rich girl I was dating took me home to meet her mom. She had prepared Cornish Hens, and I must have looked like an ape trying to pick the meat from the bones. We broke up. Meeting parents often is traumatic.
I'm not usually a fan of crime thrillers/courtroom dramas so I'm hesitant about A Good Marriage.
If you liked the movie Athlete A on Netflix you would like the book Break The Fall by Jennifer Iacopelli
AHS 1984 was good lot people hated it but like it
You're latina!?!? YESSSSSS
Home before dark is a series?!?
Styls M no, it’s a standalone book!
I wanted to love bunny. That premise is fascinating. The writing style is a huge turn off for me, unfortunately.
Juan Pablo was absolute trash! The bachelor/bachelorette is absolutely a guilty pleasure for me 😂. I have One to Watch but haven’t read it yet.
Jane from Jane the Virgin was Venezuelan, not Mexican.
I read I’m Thinking of Ending Things and couldn’t like it at all😐
Get Out and Mexican Gothic though???
CaraTheCanadian I know I wanted to use these two, but I feel like it’s kind of spoilery how they are connected so I couldn’t haha
