another thriller queen, we love to see it!! Fuuuuuckkkk im sooooo behind on my thrillers reads now smh dude the guest list is on my TBR, i just got it!! i'll let you know what i think haha OMG YES ANOTHER KARIN SLAUGHTER FAN GET ON THAT TRAIN!! i still gotta read swanson's newest book; so far NOTHING has topped his favorite one for me- the kind worth killing. i did not like the chain lol, it was like a movie more tbh. so many recs, THANKS:)
ellias ahhh thanks Ellias! 🥰 omg yes The Guest List is so good I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! And I agree The Kind Worth Killing is still my favorite Peter Swanson, it’s just so classic 😍
Also, I love Karin Slaughter! I read both Pretty Girls and The Good Daughter in 2018 and I’m so happy to see more booktubers reading her now. John Marrs’ books have been on my TBR for over a year but you reading them has pushed them to the top now 😍 I’m hesitant to read Darling Rose Gold because I’m afraid it’ll be similar to The Girls by Emma Cline, where it was basically a copycat of a well-known real-life tragedy and didn’t add anything creatively to the story. Otherwise, love your recommendations and can’t wait to read them all!
Darling Rose Gold sounds really interesting. It sounds like the whole Gypsy Rose thing if things had gone just a little differently and her mother had been arrested instead. Definitely gonna check that out sometime.
The One is so phenomenal . I love how if you read The Passengers after, the author brings up MatchDNA and things that happened in that book... John Marrs seems to be taking the Stephen King approach with his universe. I would highly suggest you read Confessions by Kanae Minato. It’s a short read but a very thought provoking thriller about revenge and the unintended consequences of our actions.
I gave Eight Perfect Murders a 3 star too. The premise of this book is awesome but by the end, I was more interested in reading the thriller books mentioned in this book rather than this book itself.
Thanks gabby for all your thriller recommendations. Through all your other thriller recommendations videos,I got into Lisa jewel,Peter Swanson, sharpi lapena john Marrs and Samantha downing!!! Dying to read the new books by Peter Swanson and Samantha downing. I really appreciate all your time reading books and your enthusiastic recommendations.....
I think you're channel is underrated. I love your channel. I think your recommendations work for me. And I have thoroughly enjoyed your recommended books. Thank you.
I read The Guest List because I saw you liked it. I read The Hunting Party last year and didn’t enjoy it, decided to give The Guest List a miss... but then I saw your Instagram and changed my mind. So glad I did, I loved it! 😍
So glad to hear this! I also wasn't a fan of The Hunting Party and because The Guest List sounds like the exact same story line, I was also going to pass on it. I've been hearing such good things about The Guest List but so far I hadn't heard anyone who had read both books say how it compared to The Hunting Party. Very glad to hear that it is better. Sounds like it may be worth giving it a try!
Thank you for all the amazing recommendations!! I’m torn between reading John Marrs or Karin Slaughter first. He started it also sounds perfect because I looooove stories involving road trips. Darling Rose Gold sounds like a bit from The sixth sense, that part was so creepy.
I have "The Guest List" as my BOTM. I can't wait to check it out. The book, "Darling Rose Gold," reminds me of an episode that was on Law and Order SVU, when a grandmother told her granddaughter she had cancer or leukemia but was never sick. && I have yet to read Long Bright River and Karin Slaughter books.
I keep seeing the Guest List and keep saying I'm going to pick it up but I haven't gotten around to it. The One is another one I am SUPER interested in picking up. I man I keep hearing it reminds people of Black Mirror and I LOVE that.
I read The One because of Lala and your recommendation. I loved it! The audio book was amazing. Sometimes, I had to stop what I was doing and take a moment to process what was happening. I was really invested in all of the characters (I like more plot driven stories).
I am currently reading Big Little Lies, and was loving how we don't know who died for most of the book and was already craving another book with that within it. I think I may pick up the Guest List now. It also checks off my Thriller trope checklist. :D
The One could have been a 5 star read...it just felt a bit longer than it should have been for me. Still a good read! (Christopher's storyline is my fave.)
I'd like to recommend a book. Its actually a book that I read a long time ago. At first when I started reading it I kept putting it down to let it collect dust because honestly, I wasn't really that into reading. Although I did put it down I couple times it doesn't mean it's a bad book, I just had to find my interest in reading. BUT, I started reading it again at around 9:00 p.m and could NOT put it down after 3 hours. I finished it the next day once I woke up and the plot twist in this is CRAZY. Anyways the book is called Drift by Sharon Carter Roger's. The book follows a girl by the name of Baby Girl, who was kidnapped and then adopted by the crime syndicate "The Organization" finds a man on top a freshly filled-in grave, though he seems hopeless and torn apart by pain. The man noticed that Baby Girl can see him and is asked "Can you see me?". Baby Girl, saying yes, doesn't realize what this means, but it's very serious. The man is a drifter, a person that "god created in his spare time and then forgot on the fringes of reality". Drifters have tethers that can be attached to a specific person, and stay with that person until they die. Only that person can see him, nobody else can. It's been a while since I've read is so I cant quite say much except for that. But LISTEN. If you read this book I guarantee that itll be put into one of your thriller recommendations. I promise.
Great video Gabby, will have to check some of these out. I have The One on my Kindle but have never got round to picking it up but need to now after hearing you talking about it 😊
I've seen you rave about Pretty Girls & The Good Daughter in previous videos, so I'm going to start Pretty Girls today since I just finished The Brutal Truth (it's not a thriller, but still a great read for anyone who loves Devil Wears Prada). I LOVED The One... Such a great read... I couldn't stop reading!
Thanks for this! In have a a couple thriller recs by same author you may like (if you haven’t already read them) but the author is Rosamund Lupton and the two books by her (that totally blew my mind) are Sister and Afterwards. They were soooo good! The writing was amazing and I couldn’t put them down.
I bought Eight Perfect Murders the day it came out but I haven’t gotten to it yet. 😬 I also have Darling Rose Gold , The Guest List, & The Sun Down Motel so I’ll be reading all of these ASAP.
Not a thriller but an interesting read that you might like because it is about a girl who is into music and music and bands play a big part of this unusual story is Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore. It might be out of your comfort zone a little as spec, time travel type fiction but don't let that scare you away. I listened to the audio and it was well done.
The Guest List was AMAZING 🥺 I really enjoyed the Passengers so I definitely need to get around to picking up The One, I feel like his books just have the best premises! I have Eight Perfect Murders and Long Bright River on my shelf, need to get to them ✨ Especially LBR, it just sounds SO interesting
I love Karin Slaughter... shes one of my fav thriller authors! You've gotta check out both Chris Carter and Tara Moss as thrill writers too! Chris is so dark and writes about serial killers and Tara has a strong female lead character that seems to attract murderous characters to herself! Great!
In “The Passengers” by John Marrs he actually briefly works in a mention of that DNA matching science. (That you just mentioned about in his book “The One”.)
All the things you said you didn’t really like about Sun Down Motel were all the things I liked about it! Lol I loved that the niece was experiencing the same things and you’re left wondering if her neice will come to the same fate and it gave me chills that history was like repeating itself even though it was with a whole different generation!
Oooh i always get excited when u post these recommendations!!⭐ I loved The guest list,Karen slaughter is A!! Mazing!! Rose Gold was a great suggestion by you, this book was a page turner! He started it and Little secrets just went on my tbr!!😀just picked up some horror books lol just felt like spook up a bit!!👻👻 Rosemary's baby, Violet, and the kill Creek and the Grip of it!!. Gabby you look so pretty hardly see you in makeup.. Happy Reading stay Safe..❤
I just read, Eight Perfect Murders and The Sun Down Motel. I agree about EPM, It was a huge disappointment to me. However, I thought that The Sun Down Motel was so good! There were SOME moments when I was getting a little bored meaning I was hoping for it to speed up a bit and I hoped for a somewhat different ending, but man that one spooked me good and I rarely get spooked. I am sure you know the parts I am talking about. I am interested and in reading, The One after this video though. OH! I read The Good Daughter but I didn't care for it although I agree that it is VERY DARK and I was shocked by it but I enjoyed the writing. I think maybe I got out of the mood for a bit which may be the reason i was like "meh" and I've had Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter on my list for a while as well so I am glad to hear you may have liked it a bit more. but The One is going on my tbr! thank you!
I just stumbled upon your channel. These sound like good books! Have you read “You” by Caroline Kepnes? It’s one of my favorites! The second one in the series is pretty good too.
Hello Gab! You're my absolute go-to when it comes to thriller recommendation, i've loved every single one i'd read so far, (ex. lock every door, anonymous girl, turn of the key, big little lies etc). May I ask if you re-read your favorite thrillers, knowing that you already know the plot twists and endings? I read thrillers through scribd on audio, and i want to be mindful on what books (thrillers, mystery to be specific) to buy physical copies. I really want to know your take on it. Love from Philippines ♥️ Stay safe!
Mia Delavin thank you!! And I very rarely will reread thrillers but I have for some of my all time favorite like Gone Girl and You by Caroline Kepnes! It just depends but sometimes I do get the urge to reread
I have all of these books except Little Secrets. Does that mean I have a thriller addiction? Why yes, yes it does. I loved Pretty Girls. I agree with you about Darling Rose Gold, The Other People, and The Chain. The endings were not my favorite and some of the things didn’t need to happen for them to be good books. Especially the beach stuff in The Other People. I was like why even include that. The Chain should have ended at the first part and it would have been hands down a five star.
Awe I’m disappointed that the sundown motel was a lower rated read, it’s sounds so good! I’ll probably still give it a shot though. Have you ever read Kill Creek? I haven’t read it either so was hoping you would have some insight because the premise sounds awesome.

OhhGlam92 hahaha yeah usually when I say cheesy I just mean the ending was a little over the top and too dramatic for my taste, or it was too cliche and predictable haha
Casually writes down every single one of these

OMG YES ANOTHER KARIN SLAUGHTER FAN GET ON THAT TRAIN!!
i still gotta read swanson's newest book; so far NOTHING has topped his favorite one for me- the kind worth killing.
i did not like the chain lol, it was like a movie more tbh.

We Be Book'N aw thanks 🥺❤️😘
You give the absolute best thriller recommendations!
I like how you provide your feedback on books that you've rated 3 stars but still provided what you liked about it.
The chain didn’t blow my mind but I loved it based on the plot alone-so original!
I gave Eight Perfect Murders a 3 star too. The premise of this book is awesome but by the end, I was more interested in reading the thriller books mentioned in this book rather than this book itself.
i’d recommend The fourth monkey by J. D. Barker. It’s also dark and graphic but it’s really fast paced and exciting. love your videos
Thanks gabby for all your thriller recommendations. Through all your other thriller recommendations videos,I got into Lisa jewel,Peter Swanson, sharpi lapena john Marrs and Samantha downing!!! Fun fact, 8 perfect murders is called Rules for Perfect Murders in Australia. Also does anyone know if Book of the Month ships to Australia?
Jess Thomas that’s cool, and no unfortunately book of the month is USA only /:
Totally agree with Eight Perfect Murders, I love Peter Swanson so much but This one was my least fav 😭
My Dark Vanessa is really good. I don’t know if it’s technically a thriller though 🤔
Tima Fore I cant wait to read My Dark Vanessa! I just purchased it last week and waiting til I finished Long Bright River to start it
Melissa Cook It’s so good! It does get a little disturbing at times but the writing had me hooked!

The Guest List sounds just like Foley's other novel The Hunting Party.
