    Is it required to put it in a dehydrator? Or is it also possible to get same result by drying under the sun for several days?

      Depends on the ambient conditions (high humidity area/ winter time) but it is possible to dry in open air yes.

    2. What kind of physical properties will change if you add agar instead of gelatin?

      1- pectin makes it easier to handle, but its difficult to show the difference on video. You can make the recipe without pectin if need be.
      2- if you use agar you'll get a nice bioplastic also, but the sealing method might not work. I have to make some more tests on that myself.

    Hi there! If one doesnt have a dehydrator, Is it best dried in open air, if so how long do you think it would take?
    Second, can it be oven dried? If so what tempt can be used and how many minutes?

      Depending on humidity levels where you live, it might get dry in 3 days. I haven't tried the oven, but I'm guessing it'll introduce bubbles in the material.

    I do have questions again, sorry😭. Do you think that if I use gelatin and agar-based bioplastics as food packaging for items like bread, beans, vegetables, and fruits, the foods will stay fresh similar to traditional plastics? Uh if yes how long you think it will be?

    I need your help, when I make the bioplastic and when I remove it from the mold it wrinkles. What can I do for this?

      Hmm... difficult to say without more information, maybe you're removing it from the mould too soon?

      I prepare it at the Laboratory level, so I can't leave it at room temperature for 3 days. Use a drying oven at 35°C. The bioplastic wrinkles and becomes very thin. I don't know what to do to improve the appearance. Please help me@@giestas

      a drying oven is perfect, so that shouldn't be the problem. Is there a chance you didn't add enough glycerin?

    Is there any kind of pectin? There are various pectin that shows whenever i search for it. Are you using a citrus pectin or what????????????????????????????

    I'm wondering, if I took away the pectin, and replaced the gelatin with agar, would I make the same sort of packaging-like material that's crinkly but strong, but formulated with agar instead?

      The resulting bioplastic will be more flimsy (it's difficult to show the difference on camera).

      No, it doesn't behave like heat shrink wrap, but that would be an interesting use case.

    Would this bioplastic eventually collect bacteria if food was stored inside it? Since agar and gelatine are the same jellies used in petri dishes

      Difficult to say exactly how long, but it's a surprisingly long time.

      If you don't mind it being from animal origin, maybe gelatin can behave a bit more similar to the type of packaging you want.
