i love your channel so much! the simplicity of the video makes it so satisfying to watch and i love the way you keep evolving your projects. i am currently researching about bioplastics for a contest and your videos have been so helpful! much love from germany and keep up the great work! :)
Hi, this is so cool and I’m exploring bioplastics for my class right now. I was wondering if you dehydrate the mixture right away or wait for it to set and then dehydrate it?
@@giestas I did a test with letting it set first and then putting it in to dehydrate and it looks like it just ended up melting down back to a liquid anyways so there is no need to set it beforehand.
@@giestas yea, thank you for responding! I gained so much inspiration from your exploration on bioplastics. I’m currently making a project with the gelatin material and I have an idea to use these to make seed packets that can be entirely planted on their own which will reduce waste from paper used for seed packets. :)
we are currently working on a research project and came across your content today. we couldn't find a related study that produced homemade bioplastic bags. they always used machines on doing their bags. anyway, i wanted to ask if it's possible to use the heat seal in a bioplastic made out of sweet potato starch?
Hi thanks for the great content, I followed your recipe but the sheet was sticking to itself when I try to heat seal the sides, I would really appreciate any feedback and insight on that?
I need a clarification gelatin flim its only maintain the shape in cold temperature but in room temperature gelatin becomes watery solution what can i do with that, can you please tell how your gelatin flim is stable in room temperature 🤞
@giestas im currently working on my school project about edible packaging, it would be very helpful if you have any sources of information about it. thankyou!
I would have thought you had hundreds of thousands of followers. Really great content!

Thanks :) It seems like the result is the same either way.

@@wontawn.crochets exactly! the only advantage is that it's easier to move it around once it's set.

I haven't tried sweet potato starch, so I can't say. I tried potato starch and it doesn't seem to behave like the gelatin one...
This is amazing!
is it also possible to heat-seal other bioplastics like the ones made from starch or agar-agar?
At first try it, doesn't seem so, but I'll have to make more tests.
How long is the dehydrate and temp on this? That’s crystal clear!!
Did you put all of the hydrated gelatin?
can i dehydrate the gelatin moisture without the machine? can i just leave it out in room temp and leave it hardened?
Yes!
amazing!! ❤

Mine is also a bit sticky, but I find it helps the assembly process. If it's too much, try assembling right after dehydration.
Can I put salt in bioplastic? Like salty bioplastic,Does it still work?
Thank you❤
Good question! I never tried it 🤔
Now I understand the edibility but my question is how do you add your brand name and info
Omds stor! Muita fama sem ter que se render ao TikTok haha. Admirável
Por acaso estava a pensar experimentar o tiktok, mas não tenho o CD para instalar, nem na fnac havia :|
Looks great! What about the shelf life of the packaging material?
It's difficult to test that, since it involves a lot of waiting. But the oil packet lasts for a surprisingly long time.
Too good
can this gelatin bioplastic make it like a bag that can carry things and also can disslove in water / good for our nature /thanks :))
Yes.
was it good? I’m surprised the gelatin went in as well!
You can't taste the gelatin really. It's good compared to commercial instant noodles, compared to proper ramen, it is what it is :)
Is it possible to pack water ?
Nope: ruclips.net/video/SvzxgKT9akU/видео.html

I can say sorry, I never had that issue :/
It's melt in hot water. But is it water proof like plastic or it's melt in normal water? Is it good to carry anything in rain?
Good question, I'd have to test that.
@@giestasdid you find out yet???
that is soooo cool
what type of honey?
What types are there?
@@giestastoo much, can i know more specific.. what type of honey you use
which brand or something
@@aqilakasya8752 I used a honey from a local producer, doesn't even have a brand. The consistency is medium, not too liquid.
does it stick to the mould when peeling ?
is it safe?
I can't give a scientific answer to that question, but... I'm still alive :)
