They never state it but I came to a realization recently. The Garleans would have received the bulk of their language and culture from Emet-Selch. After Zenos triggered the civil war by killing his father then obliterated his own capital with Anima his title was changed from "Yae" (member of the royal family) to "Viator" as a damnation of him and what he had done. This means that the strongest word for traitor in the Garlean language is the word for Traveler... Thanks Hades...
Zenos is my absolute favourite ff14 character and I'm genuinely so happy you took the time to make an essay on him and research his past as much as I did. I miiiight be a bit too smitten by him though, so I'm biased lol. For real though, thank you. This is going straight into my Zenos playlist. Subbed 3 mins in. You're amazing and I can't wait to watch more.
Seeing how many of the royal families act or behave, I doubt it. The children seemed to be isolated while growing up with their education. Cyd is the only one whose parents seemed to be caring. Tho Garlians seem to have a lot of emotional depth to them. They remind me of crabs. All hard and stiff on the outside and squishy 'n sweet on the inside.
This was very interesting, thank you! I've long struggled to understand Zenos, never liking him as a character, hating his roll at the end of Endwalker. Been watching videos like this to try to understand why the writers think we all need to get wet when he appears. Still don't really get it, but maybe someday.
Wasn't that a result of the experiments, especially from the fake echo? Looks like it is explained in the video as an aether crystal embeded into his own flesh.
He used crystals, something that had a very good chance of killing him, just to win. His golf bag serves the function of charging his blades with aether now.

Thank you very much!
I really enjoyed researching his early life, especially his teenage years and when he joined the army.
That glass breaking sound effect scared the sh** out of me.
Sorry bout that!
But yeah, theme of this video was me experimenting with sound effects :)
@@WyrmLimion No need to apologize, I thought it was good!
I do wonder if Zenos’ mother had survived if he would have been a more normal person
Mothers have a power not even they understand. I'm sure he would have learned compassion, considering ofc she was a compassionate woman herself.

@@bobcharlie2337 I never said perfectly normal just maybe a tad less psychotic
@@THEREALBLU13 Don't worry, I got that when you said," A more normal person."
Depends. What if his mother was like Athenea and Varis was the good father by comparison.
13:24 would be cool if one day the WoL learns the unyielding blade.

Amazing video, great job!
Appreciated Elisreya!
Do they explain how he’s able to manipulate aether, despite being a pure blood

@glennk0s this was before that.
@@madambutterfly1997 Before his sword training as a child?
Yeah he burys a crystal into his flesh

Thanks for video about my favourite character (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
Glad you liked it. Learning about hus younger years made me like Zenos all the more.
to me ff14 is boring w/o a good antagonist as zenos. if 7.0 doesnt up the ante im done with the mmo. the lul has been too long.
For me it's more about everything in between. Zenos is one of my favorite characters, but we don't always need an all powerful being looming over us.
You will be disappointed
7.0 will be a most likely chill story atc after the highs of Zenos.
The chill won't last. It gets crazy.
