A lovely interview with a brilliant actress. I remember watching the 1968 'Romeo and Juliet' in English class and have loved it ever since. Rest in peace Olivia, the one and only Juliet ❤
This was fantastic to discover just after her passing. I was 15 when Romeo and Juliette came out and it did change my life, as she talked about in this interview. I became a lover of the arts, poetry, Shakespeare. This interview shows her inner and outer beauty never changed. I learned that she was a student of Swami Muktananda who I also am connected to through spiritual teachings. I hope many more people who treasure her will find this. I did not know about the book so hopefully I can get a copy. Thank you so much for this tribute to Olivia. What a beautiful, kind, fascinating talented, loving person we were blessed to get to know a little better.
I only just watched Romeo and Juliet after all these years, and I am 60! But is was fabulous, like a breath of fresh air! Olivia and Leonard were just wonderful in the film, I had to buy the DVD!
She changed my life also, at age 13. I fell in love with the movie, and began reading the play also, several times. I love how she is keeping the movie alive for the current generation, and us older folks.
The film in which she starred in 1968 was stunning as was she. I recall seeing it as a schoolgirl with my friends as we were so impressed. She was so stunning and I was so sad to hear of her passing. Rest in peace lovely lady.
Loved this interview. Olivia is such a treasure. She's been my favorite actor since 1968.I had the honor of finally meeting her and her husband at her book signing in 2018 in LA. Lovely people ❤️
Ohmygosh! She was phenomenal! You need to read Zeffirelli's autobiography where he speaks of the crucifixion scene in Jesus of Nazareth and what happened to Olivia in that scene...Powerful!!!🙏🏼
This was such an interesting, informative, and enjoyable interview. Thanks for posting! I enjoyed hearing about her passion for the potion scene in Romeo and Juliet. Very interesting hearing how the whole thing went down. You know….there’s a quote by Maya Angelou that says, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did (although that’s certainly not true in Olivia’s case), but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I think that’s certainly true, and that’s excellent news for Olivia, because she has always made people feel great…not only through acting and her movies, but also how she treats others. She is a genuinely good and sweet person, and I’ve always loved her. I’m sure many in the world would love to be able to tell her how much she’s meant to them. Bless her.
I saw the movie back in like 84. My son was just born and I was 21. Fell-in-love with it and started a very extensive collection on her, she's still my favorite actress. I even made an exact replica of the red dress she wore in R&J, complete with the cap. All beading on cap/sleeves done by hand. I'm 61 now, and too old to wear it, but in my 20's I did wear it to a Renaissance Festival. Everyone was asking to take pictures with me. I just love Olivia. A beautiful lady inside and out🥰
What a treasure and gift you are Olivia! I share your spiritual views! And what a privilege to see you on the internet 50+ years after the only ‘Romeo and Juliet’. I so hope before you & Leonard are gone someone gets some good quality video and sound of you & Romeo talking about everything together. Everything I see of you online is poor quality and bad sound. As I watched and listened to this I saw Juliet in and out of your mannerisms and expressions. Truly magical! And Franco was right, this film has the same powerful affect on me today at 71 as it did when I saw the film in 1968. ❤️
beautifull heart and soul as well as the most beautiful girl in the world. people use to say i looked like her and she was an idol for me. she was never acting juliet, she was her. it was written in the stars.

We speak a deformation of what you can call "Spanish" which in fact is "Castellano". She did not make it up, its just a way of call our language.

How deep is Olivia’s comment that although our age may change, the emotion we felt at the precise moment we first heard it, remains we us forever
🙏

I would be so lucky to age HALF as beautifully as she has, she's always been and remains one of the most beautiful women in the world
Romeo and Juliet golden gem 1968. You were also great in Black Christmas 1974 and Death on the Nile 1978
So inspiring to hear her! Still beautiful, inside and outside! Thank you!
Olivia, she is the real Juliet in the our time. I love very much for all performances in the movie. From Juliet until Mother Teresa.

Olivia moved to England from Argentina at the same age Anya Taylor Joy did. Curious coincidence
