I know you all have been missing the landbased fishing content, so here’s a late Christmas present! Also, the next vid might have been filmed at my favorite place (bonus points if you can guess that location)
Man if you want some MONSTER black drum Pensacola is your destination. We catch them so often as bycatch sheepshead fishing on the bridges that they're really just a nuisance here haha. The Pensacola Bay Bridge (3 Mile Bridge) is generally loaded with drum in the 30-40" range and beyond, and they're dumb easy to catch. Fiddlers, blue crab, shrimp, or oysters is what we generally get them on using sheepshead knocker jigs. And let me tell you, landing a 40" black drum from a kayak is absolutely wild. I dont know if kayak fishing interests you at all but if you're ever in the area and want to land some giants from a yak, I'd be happy to make it happen 🤙 Awesome video as always dude, keep up the great work
I am glad I found you through Victor’s yt channel. I love watching Victor and now I found You! By the way, I just love the concept Catch, Clean Cook! Love from Sabah, Malaysia! ❤️
Great video Ryan! Lots of great catching even with some crazy weather. That redfish was severely mangled. Congrats on the new sponsor & finally getting some scribes. 100K is right around the corner. I thought the pompano prep was outstanding & that pan sear on the drum was a great way to cook it. Thanks for sharing!!!
Another fantastic video, I was fishing the south side of the bridge a couple years ago a lot of weeds, suddenly a Sail fish came out of the water only yards away with weeds all over his head and spear heading towards the bridge, what a sight to see .
Great video, can't wait to get back to Florida. One thing I do is mix my fiddler or mud caps with my live shrimp amd that keeps the water clean for a couple days. Yes the crabs will live many people think they'll die.
Awesome video man. When baitfish are bad, I use the whole crab (5” or more in Texas) so I don’t get robbed as easily. Especially if I’m targeting the big black drum or bull reds. Just twist legs and pinchers off to get sent out better.
I may have to look at getting one of those rods for sure. I'm not a salt water fisherman I almost exclusively fish fresh water. I do fish for stripers behind a giant hydro dam and use light 1/4-1/2 ounce jig heads with super flukes. I need something that can cast something vary light as far as possible. I will definitely be picking up some of the braid I usually use 15# with a 20# shock. Can't wait to try them out and see if it's better than my current setup.
You mentioned getting a true giant one day, there’s a place on the west side near the big bend that you can sight cast giants tailing during the warmer months!
Great long video. I cook a lot of bbq. And have had to trim a ton on those folding tables, and at that height it will quickly wreck your back. If you take about a 19” piece of 1.5” pvc and slide it over the end of the legs.( 1 for each). It will raise your table up to a more comfortable height. Keep up the good work.
Haven’t had any wind knot issues personally. I’d say the abrasion resistance is on par with anything based on diameter. Meaning if you compare another braid that has the same exact diameter they’d have similar abrasion resistance. If you’re worried about abrasion don’t size down, just stay similar diameter and enjoy the improved strength.
Silk Ocean It is the best Fishing line I have ever tried, just getting twice the capacity with the same diameter from other brands, I am using P5 which are around 85lbs and the diameter is the same as a 40lb Power Pro. I will try this line with tuna in Cambutal, Panamá.
Growing up in Orlando in thew late 60's all through the mid 70's I have a real love hate relationship with Sebastien. I've caught giants and I've battled the jacks but we always came home with a butt ton of Mullet for smoking. If you want the big Black Drum head over to Tampa Bay and fish crabs when they come in to spawn. We've caught 80# ones on Gandy bridge. Lots of worms in them but that's tow truck fishing at it's best.
Both are good reels. The 10k Gosa is a low gear ratio, and the MQ 14k is a high gear ratio. BG MQ is a lil lighter I think, the gosa has a lil better drag and a better line roller design. It’s up to you, but I’ve also covered these two reel in a vid that you can find in this channel
Get you a few blue crabs (youtube how to crack and hook, simple). Toss out a crab. You'll catch the bigger Drum. That's how we do here in south Louisiana. If you have a lot of "bait stealers" hook a smaller whole crab (they eat whole crab), leave the shell on. let it sit. Don't set the hook till it runs. If the small fish are there, the bigger fish are too. *** posted this before I saw the end of the video. 👌
In the truest sense a hard core fisherman! Rain or cold will keep on fishing and Ryan is always looking for that monster fish in which you capture the total experience of a fisherman's dream 😎Best part is showing the skill of cooking his catch to perfection my mouth is still watering 😋Thanks for the tip on fishing line and know I won't be losing my fish by a broken line!
i noticed you caught a red and said its out of season ,,,, we don't have a season for red they are kept year round and i know what spot you are at i am 45 mins away from there red is 18in and up
Reds have been 18-27” slot since 1989, however in 2023 Florida was divided into zones, this particular zone you cannot keep reds at the moment. Thanks for watching my friend!
Agreed it’s super in the way. Last fall a hurricane damaged the metal grates and this is the “temporary” fix until the state gets around to fixing it. But who knows when that’ll be. (Probably after another hurricane season and more damage)
Enjoy your vids…Great work! I like the Old Glory and USMC display in your garage. Union stars like to be displayed on the left when hung vertically. Look forward to your future success. SF

Flew in from Texas to visit Juno pier without a rod 😢😅 being a spectator wasn’t cool I wanted to throw a lure so bad lol
They rent rods at Juno. And I’ve seen the biggest and best fish caught on them!
5:52 u see me walk past 😂
That zombie red fish was a survivor! Love the content!
Dude I couldn’t believe how spunky it was too, literally jumped out of my hands 😅
Great to have you back inshore (state side). Missed your wit and quality videos.
More vids coming soon!
Fire content as usual, big fan of inshore land based Ryan. Also, that Florida GT hoodie is pretty cool 😂😅
Made this one just for you my guy 😂

At all looks 👌 good 👍 Ryan
You and Victor releasing videos within 30 minutes of each other!? Not too sure if that’s on purpose, but smart idea! Hook us in back to back!

Sebastion Inlet. I will be there in a couple days. Unfortunately on a weekend, and no mullet are running. Should be fun anyway.
Mic is really good
Love to see the sebastian videos again
We get the giant drum in Tampa every season. Pretty fun to hook up on a few once a year for something different lol
I need one in my life
@@RyanMorie around august it’s probably the most predictable fish to target here. Few of my buddy’s are captains if you ever wanted to go that rout!
I’d take that instead of the New Hampshire snow any day 😂

Wonder what the Silk Ocean line will be like long term. Seems awesome! Will it wind knot easy? Is abrasion on par with others?

Meaning if you compare another braid that has the same exact diameter they’d have similar abrasion resistance. You should try Dania peir. Full of Mack’s and kings.

I absolutely love your videos. Gonna check out these rods! Which would you recommend for a good pier rod for throwing bigger top water lures for BFT
good job frend..
I want to fish the mullet run this year. How tall should my rod be and what pound line should I use with how many yards of it?
Ryan in Scotland this called a "we soft day"
I’m a soft fisherman
For a fish like a drum that can live in both salt and freshwater is it safe to rinse it with freshwater or does it compromise the quality?
What's bro where did you buy the bait at? Shrimp are very big and healthy???
I’m from cape May nj we have a 2 month period may and June we catch them spawning and average fish is 50lb-70lb we catch them up to 90-100lbs
That’s so sick

Derek Gee is the goat
What about hooking the shrimp under the chin instead of under the horn?
I do that too sometimes, feel like they rip off easier, but they probably swim better that way
What leader knots do I use for 30lb braid n mono
Use the FG Knots

Hey I fish at nav are pier and I was wondering if you could tell me if a shimano saragos 10k or a bgmq 14k would be better for a all around pier reel

Hi Ryan New subscriber here.
Was that Sebastian pier?
Were is this pier?
Why not use a whole live blue crab? That’s how I caught all my biggest black drum. My biggest is 39 inches
Did you know if you split the skull down the middle behind each eyeball there's a pearl
How deep is the ocean at the end of the pier?
Like 10-20 feet depending on where you check
