  • Today we look at the built-in SSH and SFTP functionality in ChromeOS Flex. Should also work on regular Chrome OS or any basic chromebook.

Thank you for this video, I wasn't aware of this feature.
To change the mount path, click the 3 dot menu shown at 1:10 in the video, then select "Edit SSH" then fill in your desired "Mountpath".
YMMV: I am using ChromeOS [beta] 120 with Linux enabled

Hey Brandon. If you set the mount point BEFORE you do the SFTP Mount it does the right thing. I haven't tested whether it retains the setting but it Does do the mount they way you expect.

Hello, thanks again. Really like your videos. By the way. I use Chrome OS Flex as daily, because its getting better and better. And I need Nearby Share. Will celebrate the day when it gets Android Apps Support. ;)

I have the linux env setup either way I can't ssh into the chromebook, that is what I'm looking to do. The linux terminal allows port forwarding but it get an ip from docker not DCHP.. The regular ssh terminal , termux , all have different IP's all appear to be behind NAT. I can't get to the chromebook as a client even using -J. In device information its giving an IP that is in range with the right subnet and it will not accept a connection to that IP with or without the forwarded port specified. Each time I search for the answer I get videos using chromeOS as a client, its running an openssh-server , why can't I get to it in anyway.

Hey Brandon, thank you for your videos. I was wondering if you had any insight on how to use the built-in vpn in Chrome OS Flex.

Hey Brandon-Did you ever resolve your Beelink mini PC issue? If you put an internal SSD into it and if it just seems to endlessly show their logo when trying to boot, I found, either (1) remove the SSD and it should boot up properly going forward, or (2) wait 20-30 min and it will boot with SSD- but eventually happens again. Bios issue? I have 2 Beelinks. After several weeks, having previously placed a 2TB Sandisk into one of them getting this result. Eventually went for option 1, got a different Mini for the SSD and redeployed the BeeLink. Hope this helps.

Using Fedora Media Writer (comes with the standard install) you should be able to download and write a Windows ISO to a USB drive
