@@andyz_w3584 I think you can still use anamorphic lenses for flares and oval bokeh, + I think it would work great even with 2:1 cropping. I still love the classic ultrawide (+/- 21:9) aspect ratio, and I don't think it will stop being used. But 2:1 (smartphones and cinematic tv shows) and 3:2 (full frame, closer to a square) both make a lot of sense nowadays

hey man what do you think about this camera so far? I have OG pocket 6k and don't see any difference that would justify the "upgrade" and I don't want to lose prores, high frame rate, much better form factor and lighter weight
I think this is the beginning of a new BM and full frame series, I guess that subsequent versions will have higher frames and built-in ND filters, but this one is a breakthrough now and it's nice to work with BM graphics on full frame
@@nigerian-nightmare you don‘t need braw all the time, for example I record a lot of the videos for bloggers etc, where prores is much better as it saves space and less taxing on the computer in editing.
What happened to the shadows? I was expecting to see more details. Did you bring them all down or did the camera just not pick anything up in that range?

Very curious who's making the full frame sensor for this camera? Thought I heard it's the same sensor as one of the sony's, but most high-end pro-sumer sony's have 15stops of dynamic range.

W 0:55 jest mocny ghosting na chłopcu. Mam dokładnie ten sam problem z canonem c70 w połączeniu z adapterem rf-ef i mistem. Przy kontrastowym obrazku z kontrowym światłem niemal zawsze wywala ghosting i materiał jest nie do użycia. Przy natywnych szkłach nie ma problemu, tak samo przy zdjęciu mista nagrywając z adapterem problem znika. Odsunięcie mista od szkła też nie pomaga, jedyna opcja to pochylenie w jakąś stronę filtra, tak żeby odbić ten zdublowany obraz poza kadr. To jest moim zdaniem gruby problem o którym nikt nie mówi :/

Jak robiłem testy, to najlepiej było to widać nagrywając w dobrze wyciemnionym pomieszczeniu małe okno przez które wpada światło dziennie, wtedy się to okno dublowało i gdzieś w kadrze zawsze było jego odbicie.
An S1H with Pro Res Raw looks much better. Which means the S5II can look better... Why would you choose an awkward camera with poor battery and no ibis that can't take photos over a Panasonic? I would honestly like a reason.
@@csound55 I'm not. You are aware the S1H is nearly twice the price? of course it looks better. 12 Bit Pro Res Raw from the S1 platform is superior on paper and in practice in most situations. More dynamic range, and dual iso for low light situations. Most people just process it poorly while Resolve does the heavy lifting for black magic users. You are going to see when the side by side tests start coming out, or don't and continue to use a terrible black magic rig and deal with horrible ergonomics, shaky footage and poor battery life for no real advantage...
@@Nemastic Ergonomics? The expense and hassle of requiring an external recorder for a raw format with limited NLE options - for me cancels out that argument. What looks better comes down to personal preference - I prefer the image from the BM FF 6K camera to anything I've seen from the S1H.
@Nemastic Braw shot internally is miles better than recording externally regardless of the codec or flavor of raw. Sure, you can technically get a “superior image” if you want to shoot in ProRes RAW, but that in and of itself doesn’t make the image more cinematic. Your fanboyism is just dumb. Get over yourself.

Soon I will will be releasing proper PRR DNG comparisons using Resolve, which has only been possible for a few months thanks to Blackmagic purposefully refusing to support Pro res raw. Besides that with an external monitor a Panasonic set up still has leagues better flexibility in every situation. Not to mention the battery issue which requires a "Terrible black magic rig" which we have entire facebook groups dedicated to making fun of. So many beginner film makers get duped into believing a weird rectangle with poor mobility is the best option and their work suffers greatly because of it. There was a time when these cameras made sense but as of now that ship has sailed. 1. Worse image 2. Worse Ergonomics 3. Worse battery. Where is the advantage? I just don't see it.
Please Blackmagic, if you read this -- the form factor on this thing is killing us. The lack of ability to mount larger batteries, monitor, audio, etc. -- it's just not workable anymore for those of us who love BMD's color but can't show up to set looking like we just got our first DSLR. Create a box camera which we can customize and adapt and it'll crush the Komodo!

Sony exaggerate their dynamic range claims BTW. A7siii, fx3 have been tested and it's more like 12 stops useable.
