"Its not an invasion if I invite you!" 🤣
During construction, the man who designed the Sydney Opera House became so fed up with cost-cutting changes to his designs that he quit midway and left Australia. To this day, 50 years after completion, he’s never been back to see the finished project. Talk about holding a grudge.
It was a Danish man who designed it, and he was treated very badly.
@@wendischofield4543It was a Danish man who design it. I know, cause it was EXPLICITLY said in the episode. Thank you for repeating it for no reason at all.
@@user-kt2hl5mf1t no reason to be unkind
@@user-kt2hl5mf1tYet you yourself have ALSO repeated it!
It is sad he’s never returned to see his achievement. It is one of the most iconic man made structures on Earth. The iconography is so brilliant it’s universally “shorthand” for Australia, no words necessary. Like the Statue of Liberty for the US or Parliment for the UK. Just the image of these structures says it all.
I’m sure he probably took some pride in its iconic status before he died.
If I could only watch one show for the rest of forever, Qi would be it.
Not ‘The Wombles’ ??!!
@@Torahboy1 the wombles frighten me 😂
While visiting a market in Goulimine in Morocco (on the edge of the Sahara), a very kind gentleman tried to sell me a camel. He explained all the finer points of his camels, and especially praised a white one from Mali. According to him, malinese camels can smell water from the greatest distance. This was indeed a lovely camel, but i had to decline, on the basis that I would probably not get her through customs, or onto a plane back to the UK. Still, I do feel a certain smugness, knowing about white Malinese camels.
Back when I was a middling stuntman and bad actor I always dreamed of becoming famous enough to be on QI.
Narrator: "He did not become famous enough to be on QI."
Can you just imagine being one of Alan Davis’ kids?
No thanks!
He must be a great dad
Men at work buzzer for the Auzzie contestant is Fantastic
"Who says it's a Camberwell Carrot?"
"I do. I invented it in Camberwell, and it looks like a carrot."
Desiree makes everything better
This show was the first time I'd seen her. Only ever heard her on the radio before.
My, isn't she an attractive lady. I had no idea.
Not that anyone should be judged on their looks / appearance but (as a straight lady)
I thought she was gorgeous. (I hope I've not caused any offence by my comments 😟)
🏴🧡🖖
@@brigidsingleton1596 She's also painfully unfunny. What she is doing here is anybody's guess.

Have you heard of "making up the numbers" ?!!
I've always thought it looks like a dish rack with dishes in it.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has two funicular railways to go up and down Mount Washington which overlooks the city skyline.
It would be kind of weird if the female tarantula that killed the male wasn't the last one that he mated with. 🕷️
Seattle is built on seven hills...
But some geologists claim this number is arbitrary, there being a good deal more going on with the terrain.
is not the Olympics the oldest sporting event? The originating Olympic Games are traditionally dated to 776 BC.
The funicular railway is in Bergen, not Oslo.
Unfortunately I am also, the younger brother. The younger brother of an older sister. She's a pain
They missed the opportunity to say the RED Panda is the correct answer, because they clearly knew the panel was thinking of the giant panda. (though the Lemur is more endangered than the red panda)
Swedish girls on ferries.
Anyone who thinks, Japanese tourist are polite has never been to Cambridge.
A bigamist has two spouses. If those war women married more than twice then they'd be polygamists.
I do enjoy QI but where on earth do they get their guests? Stephen Fry, Sandi Toksvig, Alan Davies & Bill Bailey are the only ones I've ever heard of before sering them on QI
Colin Lane is an Australian icon, search Lano and Woodly
Perhaps, in the future, they’ll run all their proposed guests past you to get your approval.
Desiree has been on Taskmaster, a ridiculously popular TV show. I think this may be a you problem
You may have heard of a couple of these;

Desiree Burch has appeared lots of times on the radio show "News Quiz" which is / was very funny - and used to be presented by Sandi Toksvig, and later, Miles Jupp.
So many adverts! Dirty thief
Love this show, love them all, sometimes Alan needs to just shut up. He has good comic timing in sitcoms, but here, no timing concept, he becomes tiresome
I've never seen someone break the momentum so much than desiree 🥱
