Bill Bailey is an amazing human being, truly talented… to learn new musical instruments is extraordinary and yet he remains so humble, kind, with astonishing wit and intellect and remains a thoroughly a lovely man. Thank you Bill.
I’m so happy to have been born at a time where I would have an easy way to become familiar with all sorts of people who would never have shown up on American television, and Bill Bailey is one of them. He’s funny, he’s a fabulous musician, and he’s chock full of interesting tidbits-a 21st century man-of-all-trades, as it were…
If you ever get the chance to watch a Bill Bailey stand-up show, go for it - his wit and talent make it such a fun event. My favourite jab of Bill’s at British politics: “it’s beige-mongering” 😆
I am lucky enough to have worked with & spent time with Bill. He is a ridiculously talented & genuinely lovely person who has ENDLESS amazing anecdotes.

And Bill Bailey is one of my favourites of all time, the way he "speaks"| with instruments is incredible. He is one in a million, saw him live, he is amazing and love everything he does. Thank you for this
Wow!!!!!!!!!!! Bill is super talented and funny; he owned Strictly and is a hell of a musician and storyteller. It may be said his appearance belies the incredible hidden depths. What a guy!!
So good to see Bill appropriately loved and embraced by the world! I've been a fan since the Cosmic Jam days and there is always that extra level of joy you have seeing a long time favourite comedian become so renowned!
One of my favorite Bill Bailey moments was when he crushed Piers Morgan. Piers made a joke that was a riff on something Eddie Izzard had said but no one laughed. Piers wondered out loud why his joke went flat but Eddie’s scored and Bill said, “Well, people like Eddie”.
I have been a fan of Bill Bailey’s for near 15 years. I learned of his genius from Black Books. A ridiculously hilarious British show. The man is just brilliant!
Im glad there were no more than 3 series. Trying desperately to eek out as much as possible from a quality idea generally ruins great shows. 3 series is the absolute limit I find, quality generally tails off after that with very few exceptions. @tinasjostrand2677
Bill ( or " Mark " ) is such a talented musician, pleased to hear that he received an honorary Doctorate from the University of Bath. His stories are always a treat to listen to.
My all time favourite Bill Bailey number is his « Belgian jazz » version of the Dr Who song. It’s hilarious, but also it’s so good I’d take a full show of him playing in that style!
The only moment I can think of that’s not in this compilation was when Bill was on the show with Stephen Fry and they read out tweets on twitter & I hope Miriam Margoyles gets one of these compilations soon
I'm wholeheartedly with you. It's much to far-fetched for anyone to dream up on their own. Unless, of course, it's Terry Pratchett, in which case all bets would be off, if he weren't already dead.
This is a great show, really! Graham Norton mixes and matches the best guests and gets everyone relaxed and talking to each other; and as Bill Bailey, he is real character!! truly the life of the party :) and an outstanding musician- always with a good story here and there.
What makes me laugh about the "Bill Bailey dead" story is that QI posted a video at about the same time as this video with a similar pose of Bailey as the thumbnail. Seeing the two right next to each other had me worried and I googled to make sure he didn't just die before watching them in case these were in tribute.

I would love to have 1/10 of Bill Bailey's skill, when it comes to playing musical instruments. He is what is known as 'pitch perfect!' A natural skill, that only occurs with 1 in 10,000 people, and it is a natural ability, and not something you can learn.
Besides being a multi talented, witty, very clever and a musical god................Bill is also immortal. As the clips change, so do the people, except Bill, he looks the same throughout. Must be all that circular breathing.
I bet you im the only person here who has sold a lump of beeswax to a didgeridoo player so he could make a mouthpiece . He brought it back to the shop and showed it to me after ! The circular breathing is amazing. No, I'm not australian , although the didgeridoo player was. This took place in Dublin ireland
So many. I saw him live last night on the Thoughtifier tour. He played an Irish reel on the saz, Anarchy in the UK on an African thumb piano. Brought a set of Bluetooth enabled "rock balls" which give off guitar or drum riffs when you bounce them. And the coup de grace was a huge "laser harp" which he played by putting hands into the laser beams. Then a tribute to Sean Lock on bagpipes at the end. You never know what he will bring out next, just brilliant 😄
Talking of over the top reactions from the police in central London: My rich mate lived in Knightsbridge just behind Harrods in a 5 story town house. Just for context, most of the other houses on the crescent were Embassies. His bedroom was on the top floor so one night he went for a spliff on the roof with his mate. While he was up there 2 swat team vans came from either end of the street, stopped outside his house and a bunch of swat team guys poured out the vans in all their gear and made their way up stairs while a police helicopter started circling overhead shining a spotlight thru the windows and stuff. In a panic he left his weed on the roof and made his was down the ladder back to his bedroom, the roof door slamming on his fingers. Some kind of Sargent appeared at his bedroom door asking him what he'd been up to. They searched the roof and told him an embassy worker across the street had seen a red glow on the roof and thought it was a snipers laser thing. They didn't mention the weed, apologized and suggested maybe not to go on the roof again for a "cigarette".

the Turkish instrument looks so like the mandolin ( and the mandola) which Bill played earlier. but its sound is totally different. do they use a different kind of string? amazing what mankind has developed - so the same, yet so different. the only music that has its very own sound like no other is from Tibet, India, China and Japan.

The goose story stands as one of the great stories told of all time. 🤣

But I wanted to hear end; did he save the goose?, did the secret police arrest it? where do you take an injured goose at 2am in the morning in London?
Some kind of goose malfeasance.
