    Wow! The chicken look so yummy. Where can i buy sand ginger & sand ginger powder? I must ask my friends or wait till i come to Hong Kong to buy.

      In Los Angeles mom buys them frozen from the Chinese markets

      You can try to find the sand ginger & sand ginger powder in Chinatown shop (唐人街商店) or Asian shop(東南亞商店)/ Indonesia shop(印尼商店), wish you can find it❤️🌻🌻

    Sand ginger is so much more superior than regular ginger, I don’t know why we even use regular ginger

      regular ginger has a hot spicy aromatic odor which can be used to remove the smell and enhance the aroma of food, it almost can be use in all type of meat. The sand ginger remove the smell is weekless than regular ginger, sand ginger is fully match with chicken but not all type of meat. Thanks for watching!

      I thought it was blue ginger or galangal.

    When you pour the sauce into the chicken, I think you should strain the sand ginger otherwise it is not nice to eat the sand ginger or next time can add the sand ginger powder

      Most of Chinese like to eat chicken with sand ginger, we minced the sand ginger then eat with chicken together, especially in China Zhanjiang Province (湛江), they eat 1 chicken with a lot of raw sand ginger, thanks for watching!

      沙薑即是山柰, 但山柰這個名字香港人更少認識, 英文叫sand ginger、 aromatic ginger.

      It's a subtype of galangal, but not the same thing as the root known as "galangal" - true galangal is Alpinia galanga, whereas sand ginger is Kaempferia galanga. It's well known in Indonesia, where it's known as "kencur".
