What a singularly unhelpful video. I know how to charge it; I need to know what to do when it will not charge. Foolishly, I thought a video entitled "What to do if your Shark ION Robot will not charge" would be useful in this situation.
Hi Susan, thanks for reaching out to Shark Cleaning. We're sincerely sorry to hear about this situation with your unit not charging. @@SharkHome OK, so I went to the website. Can't get any assistance there without registering my vacuum. Can't register the vacuum because the site doesn't recognize the model number, which I am getting directly from the label on said vacuum. Finally found an e-mail address & sent a request for help to it on Friday. Have not heard back. Any suggestions?
Tip: if your robot is turned off AND the battery is completely dead, you will need to turn it on first, put it on the charger, then WAIT a few minutes before it will start to charge.
Seems like a bit of a design flaw. Someone just gave me one and when I put it on the charger nothing happens except the light on the charger turns OFF 😆 like how do I know wtf that’s supposed to mean?

Same, mine was stuck on one of those wall door stoppers and I guess it had hit the switch. Glad I came to this video because I figured the battery had went bad.
Well, this video was helpful. I didn’t know both the robot and the empty station have a power switch button 🤦🏾♀️ haven’t used my robot in a year and thought I’d check RUclips before throwing it away and low and behold my robot wasn’t working because it wasn’t on 😂
My Ion stopped working when cleaning, it had 1 charge light on so I pushed the Dock button and would not go back to dock, did nothing. I put it on dock to charge and the 1 charge light was on and dock was on and charge light did nothing stayed on 1 chg light all night with no charge. In the morning I switched on/off button 2-3 times and it started charging. I guess this reset the whole system! Give this a try, hope it helps.

Oh my goodness you just saved me throwing mine in the trash! I just bought this thing in August and it has worked without a flaw and then all of a sudden it was off and wouldn’t charge. No matter what I did with the charger, didn’t matter nothing would happen. I flipped it off and on a bunch of times And now it’s working like brand new again. Thank you thank you thank you!

I had the same issue here. It got stuck in my closet and by the time I found it, his battery was run down. I picked him up and put him in the dock, but right as I put him in the dock, all his lights turned off. I cleaned the connections, and made sure the dock was set up right. I was getting ready to give him the 1-foot drop when I read your message. I flipped the switch on/off like 3 times really quickly and the lights came back on, on the 3rd flip. You're a life saver!!! The Shark Cleaning representatives are useless
Here is what worked for me. Turned off power on both docking station and the robot. Took a damp paper towel and cleaned the robot's contacts, wiped the docking station of dust and grit. Interestingly there was a very small stone there that perhaps could have lifted the robot up off on the station's contacts. I also removed a 2" piece of uncooked spaghetti from the docking station's vacuum port. It could have perhaps kept the robot from full contact. I don't know which of these worked but upon turning them back on and putting the robot in a charging position, the blue lights came back on. Not just the red flashing battery symbol.
LOL never knew it had a switch on the side. Wasn't working for a week. Finally got off my ass and did some research and found this video. Damn switch somehow was turned off. :)
I was going insane cursing this thing out after breaking so soon after we got it... come to find out my wife had switched off the power button. Thanks for the quick video
If you pulled this up because your Shark's lights won't come on and you can't get it to charge. Here's what you do: flip the on/off switch like 3 times really quickly and the lights should come back on. It did for me. Good luck! btw. The Shark Cleaning representatives are useless
