- In this video I’m gonna go over the possibilities of wire shark ion robotic vacuum is not charging. This can be a issue with these robots and it can be a headache to get them working right again so here we’re gonna talk about the charger the robot with her still got power or if it’s dead if it could be the battery if the green lights not working in many other things.

Seriously when you don’t turn it off… But it’s clearly in the off position. How in the world would you know there was a power switch on the side. He fix my damn robot in the first minute and I was two seconds from throwing it away. I had already ordered and replace the battery to no avail!

Holy crap! I had no idea the dock has a switch too!!! I was cleaning the filters last night & it was off!!!😧 We keep it plugged in. I knew the robot had a switch but not the dock! Smart thing must have turned itself off while I cleaned the filters. Thank you!! Very helpful!!!
my shark was completely dead, and yes power switch was on. I tried a reboot and nothing was working. I watched this video and scraped the metal charging pads and WOO HOO there's a power connection. it's not up and running again. simple! Thank you.
excellent, you diagnosed my problem. Bad as sounds I did not remember there being an On/Off button and apparently turned off when lifting. Took me a week to try and find out why it wasnt charging or sweeping, Your video exposed my ignorance but least its working..Thanks so much

my god. this comment. didnt even watch the video. for 6+ months (its low on the priority list lmao) i've been wondering wtf was up with this, ordered a wrong battery once, then ordered a right battery, realized it might be the remote, figured out the remote could turn on the lights and make it blink, then i was frustrated because i find the original battery still works... i come to this video see your comment and look on the thing for a switch. the god damn thing was off. ADD is a real pin in the ass.

Cool! Helped troubleshoot mine. I was about to dump it in the trash from frustration but I figured I’d try you tube…so once again if anything I got it to work again.

I have owned this thing for a couple years now. Never noticed a power switch button on the side. Almost trashed it. Step 1 on this video...I'm like... wait...what? I walk over to my vac....I'll be damned. There's the switch.....turned off. Flipped it. "Doo doo!" And all lights come on. After months of tinkering with it. My hand literally had to have touched it. Almost took it apart!!! LOL! THANK YOU!!!!

Holy crap I’ve had mine forever and never had problems! Couldn’t get it to turn on it was blinking red battery like it was dead, but charging didn’t help. Then realized the off switch had been hit and turned off! 🤦🏻♂️ thanks 😂

Thanks! Mine was dead & beforehand had a red light on top. It died without docking.
No on/off button found (off white model) I cleaned the brushes & the 2 metal contacts, set it back on base. It lit up, dumped & is now charging👍🏼

Thank you for reminding me that there was a power switch on my vacuum. I completely forgot about it and I was worried that my vacuum was broken. Nope, turns out the power switch just got flipped 😂😂😂

thank you for this video, but I have done everything you recommended. I have a shark ion 720C. I changed the battery, charged it for over 24hours, cleaned all filters, changed the brushes, cleaned the sensors and it shows full charge on the unit. It runs for 30 seconds, then it stops vacuuming and shows one blue bar on the charging bar and looks to dock. no other lights and no error codes or error beeps. What do you suggest I do next????

The freaking on/off switch smh mine quit working and thought it was toast but after watching your video I fixed it and found out for the first time there was a switch! That's why I the service industry you start with the most simplest solution first

This worked! My battery completely died. I got to to start charging wiggling back and forth.
Mine won't turn on when not on the charging pad, but when I manually put it on the pad the lights come on, it starts to empty its self but then shorts out/turns off, then lights come on, it attempts to empty again, and repeats this cycle again and again. I'm debating on buying a new battery but fear it'll be a waste of money, if it was a battery issue I feel it wouldn't come on at all. Should I try a new battery or is it possibly the motherboard? Hoping it's not...$700 for a vacuum that lasts under 2 years is so crappy lol

So. My robot "Wheelie" made his way outside and I had no idea. I was on the road for work that next day and of course it was raining at my house... Anyway. I found Wheelie at the bottom of the long ramp at my house. He was also tangled up in some Dewberry vines.😢 I took him in and opened him up and put him in front of a fan at an angle for 3 days. But I can't get him back to life. Do you have any ideas? I feel almost sick. I can't afford another Wheelie, and I do love that little robot. Thanks in advance if you know of a fix I could try 😊
Have a question I have a rv1001ae shark. It can find the dock it shows it is connected but I won't really charge it. The blue light doesn't flash to show it charging even though it's obviously low. It will try to work Crouse out 4 ft then show it's dead and return back to the base. And then nothing flashes to show it charging or maybe for a couple seconds. I've changed the battery but same thing it just won't charge it. I did just check all the contact points and springs are good also clean. What can I do

I have one that's a shark rv1101arus. It stays dead.
Once I manually dock it, it will vacuum out the trash and does good. But, it won't charge. The blue light comes on for a few seconds (flashing slowly) then goes blank. I have cleaned the charging pads and tried multiple times to place it on the docking station but it only vacuums it out then nothing.
I'm thinking it has a dead battery, but there's no other signs, i.e., flashing lights, etc, that differ from the blue one I mentioned.
Can you help please?
Clean the front sensors might not be lining up but more then likely the battery is failing causing a do not charge condition. Could also be a bad charger tho, I’ve been a few chargers over the years just stop sending the laser signal for docking

Hey Man! Got a rv2001 that worked fine with a battery charged by my 720_N but it won't charge the same battery by itself. I think the dock is fine since when it worked properly the bot found its way back. All the lights were blinking on and off simultaneously and the bot would randomly call out "Hello...let's get cleaning" but then the battery indicator would turn from white to red. Help!
I have all the lights blinking but not charging...once in a while it will appear as to charge but then goes back to flashing...

I have SharkVacMop, it goes into the dock and color change from green to blue on the docking station
I did some process of elimination.
I just got a replacement SharkVacMop, I use the new fully charge battery into the old SharkVacMop worked until the battery drain.
I used the new charging station and still won't charge, even though the app is saying charging.
I've clean the contact, reseat the battery, swap batter and charger.
Still same issues, it will dock but it won't charge even if the dock is changing to blue a ND app said it's charging.

I just want to thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed comments explaining your issue. Unfortunately sounds like it’s gonna be something to do with the motherboard in the charging system itself sounds like maybe a capacitor are MOSFET on the motherboard is gone bad the only thing that you could do is get another motherboard for it but unfortunately with the shark vacuum mop They’re really too new to find parts and if you find them they’re gonna be way too expensive I would personally contact shark and see if they’ll send a replacement for this unit if you didn’t already use the replacement for the new one. Wish I could help more unfortunately this is one of those hard issues to solve.
Just for fun you could take it apart if you’re not at a loss on this robot and see if maybe your wires came disconnected or maybe a part of the motherboard is burned up you can also check to see if you can see any damage to the terminals of the battery on the inside or if there’s any damage to the unit on the inside such as water

Okay, mine will dock itself just fine but for A WEEK now, my Shark robot has been docked and the charging lights flashing.... without ever getting full. I pull it OFF the charger, and the lights continue to flash like it's charging.... but it's off the charger. What is going on with my possessed robot vacuum?

I have a fairly new shark AI and the doc works light turns blue when the vacuum it’s on but once I turn on the vacuum while it’s on the doc it just blinks and you hear a little bit of ticking but nothing else. Do you think it’s dead forever ?
Hmm thats a interesting one, Do you have a warranty with this one. Shark is pretty good about replacing them if they are less then a year old.

Could be bad battery or bad charging processor on motherboard. Call and warranty it first

I have a RV850BRN no lights on the vaccuum turn on. I put it in the charger it beeps all day and it won't charge I ordered a after market battery installed it and it still does a beeping sound all day charger light is on the charger vaccuum won't charge. I threw it out and bought a new one that has a vacuum and mop 2 in 1 without the spinning brush and it works great because I don't have carpet I have bare floors. Less moving parts seems like the way to go. I have had it for awhile and it's been great.
I can’t believe how many people don’t know about the on/off switch lol, that’s usually my issue. I’ve replaced the charging base, and the internal battery, it still will not charge or even react to the clean, max, or dock buttons. I’ve used it less than 20 times. Got it as a gift 1 full year ago, but only ran it a hand full of times because. My son just preferred to use the regular vac. I have cleaned it and checked all the sensors etc. I’m so bummed, a complete waste of money for my mother in law!
Is there any way a AOSO charger base charge the Shark robo vacuum. Is there anyway to charge the shark without the base.?

I’m having a weird problem with my Shark AI. Somehow it completely discharged and would not charge on the dock so I removed the battery and charged manually. I put the battery back in and it made a successful vaccine run, and will successfully dock. The charge indicators come on but rather than charging, it is discharging. The % charge in the app indicates it’s discharging even though it’s claims it’s resting in the dock and charging. Any ideas?

I cleaned mine and the charger is working the green light it on but the shark is not charging. There is no light on the vacuum and I’ve played with it thinking maybe I dont have it on the base right. I also know there is a light on the vacuum it self. I’ve probably only used it about 12 times. I’m out of ideas on what to do.

What about the situation where the vacuum just drains batteries even when the power switch is off? Charged for a little on a new battery and then it killed the battery. Hardly used unfortunately.

Mine only charges to 2 lines never the 3 and then only cleans for about a minute and goes back to charger. Does this mean my battery's too old to charge fully? I did all the tips you suggested.
New battery will fix that
When I put mine on the charger it pops up the schedule button then disappears and nothing happens.
Interesting video relating to my problem, your docking station operates lsimilar to my original RV850 where as the Green LED does not turn BLue when the robot docks!
I have two RV850 robots with one of the original docking stations as mentioned above, they both will dock to. It has no Model # but the transformer is a DK18-190060H-U . Interesting note that the Green LED doesn't go to Blue when the robots dock!?!? I purchased a second docking station XSKRVDOCK that the Shark CS told me would work...Either one of my RV850 will dock to it ! I used my camera to check the IR signal on the docks and the robots, they all are working. Now for the frequency I don't know. I recently purchased a RV750 and it will dock to both of my RV850 stations? So why doesn't this one docking station XSKRVDOCK NOT worrk? If I force the RV850 on the Green LED goes to Blue and it will charge the robot and my APP will show it charging. Any advice would be appreciated! Thx!
That dock is for the 871 series and rv700 which use different frequency the rv750 can use both docks.

Thank you so much for this video. I have done everything here to diagnose my problem, which is no matter what, it will not dock. New battery, everything cleaned, charger springs work. Other vac. works on the charger. If I plug the charger directly into the vacuum, nothing happens. No lights, no sound. Any thoughts?

@@nicolenov1895 I took it apart and when I put it back together it started charging? But now I have a whole other problem, when I set it back down on the floor the wheel broke the internal plug for the wheel off so now I have to order a wheel Assy. Lol

My shark won’t charge or power on at all. The power switch is on. It’s docked manually. Dock light is blue while it’s docked, not green, but the vacuum won’t do anything at all. No lights or sounds. Help!

Does it still have power? If not could be a bad battery. If it has a error need to see what the error says.

I turned off my robot because my cat wouldn't leave it alone. It was off for about 24 hours. It had plenty of charge when I turned it off. I turned it back on and no lights will come on at all. I've cleaned all the pads and sensors, etc, made sure it is sitting on the charger properly because the charging light went from green to blue, but the shark still won't light up. It is powered on, sitting on the charger but no lights at all. Is the battery so drained that it won't charge up ...ever? Should I invest in a new battery? It's about 4 years old. Also, I run it every day, but can't understand why it suddenly won't show any lights or charge. Thanks.
Update, I checked the battery and I guess it was loose because as soon as I pushed it back in to the plug and turned it on, it worked!

My rv750 won't turn on at all, no lights, no movement, nothing. Totally dead. Swapped in another battery and still nothing. Power switch is on, light on base station is on, still nothing. Tried plugging charging adapter directly to unit, and you guessed it, nothing.... Any idea what's going on?
Tear it apart and see if a wire is broken or disconnected sounds like motherboard went bad or charging system has a bad part stopping current from passing

Clean contacts on charger and robot. Might be a motherboard issue or wiring issue if that doesn’t fix it

I put my shark in storage (it was safe inside it’s box and wrapping.) for 4 months. When I got it back out and tried to set it up the docks green light will start blue when I place it but after a few seconds change to flashing between blue and green. The robot is completely dead from sitting in storage. I’ve tried cleaning contacts, wheels, brushes and checking bumpers. I’m not sure what to do.
New battery probably or it could have corroded the motherboard connections

@@SmittysWorld okay so I pulled out my volt meter. The battery is only pulling about 4 volts and it’s spotty. So I’m definitely ordering a new one.
I ordered a new battery and it turned on immediately and started running. But when placed in the charger the dock flashes just like with the old battery.

My shark hasn’t been used In two years it’s completely dead. My charge station works and it turns green ive been trying for two hours to get it to turn on ( no blue color light ) for literally a split second I bumped it in a diff position and it turned blue the light for a split second but since then I can’t get it too turn on. Any ideas ?

My ion 759 when on station to charge it then when turned on flashes one red light once then three blue three times then shuts off

I replaced my battery and it still seems to think the battery is dead. The red "battery dead light" comes on for a couple seconds then fades. I'm assuming the new battery would come charged and it would at least work until the new battery died. Any ideas on what to try next??
So not all the time do the batteries have a full charge, But I would point more to the motherboard having some issues at this point.
@Smitty's World I have the model with the vacuum canister on the base. When I changed the battery and put it on the base it emptied the dust container which it wasn't doing before but still not charging. I can't get to the motherboard because I need a T-15 screw driver. If I can get to the motherboard would there be something obvious or is it pointless. The machine is only like 2 or 3 years old.
Mine won’t charge past 90% even overnight. I have a regular one and the vac mop and both only charge to 90. They are less than a year old-the vac mop is less than 6 months. Is this just normal, gradual wear on the battery or should do something? If it’s normal I won’t worry I’ll just replace battery later on when necessary

I followed everything, but when I put the Vac on the charger there is no lights, no activity at all, the light is either blue or green on the charger, but no matter what it will not charge.

My iRobot keeps saying it’s near a cliff and it isn’t. It won’t run because of this. It keeps saying error number 7.. I just found out today that you little grandson accidentally spilled after on it. What should I do?
Call shark see if they will replace it this error can get expensive to fix new sensors or even new motherboard shark will sometimes replace for cost of shipping

My shark dislodged the dust bin and I struggle to make it connect. Is there a sensor I’m missing?
