- College highlights from Champ Bailey's days as a Georgia Bulldog. Bailey was the best cornerback in the country by the time he left, but he also made plays wide receiver, and as a returner. Honestly, he's probably the last true two-way player we've seen in major college football. I wish I could've got a few more of his defensive plays in here, but hopefully what I did get showcases just how great he was. I couple of the plays are a bit choppy, so apologies for that. This is one of the baddest dudes to ever put on a pair of cleats, so I hope you enjoy this reel!
Sadly I'm not old enough to have watched him play in college live, but it seems his impact on winning was immense. So many of these plays were field-flipping catches or pass break-ups on third down. Not to mention the turnovers, tackles behind the line of scrimmage, and his impact in the return game.
I've been trying to find Bailey's GA highlights for ages now, thanks for the upload - probably the last guy who could've played nfl football based on his merits on offense, defense, or special teams alone. So talented/versatile, some guys are just born to be athletes and he was one of the ultimate examples. At least the Redskins gave us an occasional taste of him at wideout, but once he got to Denver it was clear that a db of his caliber belonged on that side of the ball. Awesome footage!
Looks more like a receiver in this video. That’s crazy. He was a great athlete.
Two way player in college.
Champ Bailey is one of Football greatest players of all time !!!! Go Dawgs!!!!!!
It's crazy how these teams weren't better. So much talent
One of the all-time greats! I had the pleasure of randomly meeting him in Atlanta when he played for my Broncos. We talked for a few minutes. Very humble dude too.
THANK YOU. CHAMP IS A LEGEND . Fun to watch Kirby out there as well !
Champ bailey, Quincy Carter, kirby smart , Hines ward , Patrick pass, orlandis Gary, Larry brown (crim high school also thad parker who I watched personally play in high school explosive player, matt stinchcomb, boss bailey, Richard Seymour, and Marcus Stroud. My favorite Georgia team this is the team that forever links me to Georgia. #GODAWGS...
After Darrell Green, Deion Sanders, Rod Woodson, Charles Woodson, I can’t think of a more athletic or better corner in the last 40 years.
Charles Woodson was a contemporary comparison at the time in terms of two-way play. However, like Bailey, he never really got offense in the NFL.
I remember watching him as a kid when he was in high school. What a Georgia beast!
Had NO clue Champ was this talented. Travis Hunter is the latest version of Champ on the collegiate level.
On this clips I see Bailey, Olindis Gary, Stinkcomb, Hines Ward, Marcus Stroud, Richard Seymour, Quincy Carter. As well as Mike Bobo, Will Muschamp and current Coach Kirby Smart. And they hovered around 5 to 6 wins a season
Ray Goff was just that horrific of a Coach
That team had Kirby, Bobo and Muschamp 😂. His Brother Boss was a hell of a football player too
Wow look at that kid. Clear he has all the makings of a future nfl superstar
This is a sign I’m getting old as I remember him as a two way player in college, but he never got to play offense in the NFL.
He played offense in the NFL a few times.
I remember when the Redskins drafted him as a corner and that's all he ever played
Now we got Travis hunter
The Terminator #89
Man. UGA wasted some talent in those years
Phantom.😅😅
I knew he played receiver never knew he was this good.
Ghost from power played CB2 😳
Now find me some takeo spikes Auburn highlights!!!
#42 ???? Must’ve been a freshman
He abused that piss poor LSU defense.
Love seeing Coach Smart in these highlights
Can you please do plaxico burres or Eli Manning
Can u do charles Woodson
A missed tackle is a highlight? 🤨
Can u do Troy Polumalu?
Only reason Champ didn’t make more of a dent in the Heisman race is he didn’t have too many highlight reel plays in his Jr. year. Yeah he was the best DB in college that year, but Woodson made the “it” plays in his Heisman winning season. Champ just made great plays. But nothing stuck out to the voters. Obviously we know what happened in his pro career, but I thought it was interesting that he didn’t get more votes for the Heisman. That, and Georgia only got to the Peach Bowl.
it was mostly because we sucked back then :)
Do Charles Woodson Michigan
