Ford=winning...loving my '13 F250 CCLB 4x4 6.2L. Tests like this are what made me sure I made the right choice :)
It doesn't reall y matter. My truck will be the first one up the hill. bitch
No Ford = found on road dead
@@lionpoop9246 *First On Race Day
Cracked Heads, Every Valve Rattles, Oil Leaks, Eats Transmissions!
Dodge literally means to avoid... they don't even need an acronym lol
My 2000 F350 7.3 Diesel was 100% made in America with an international engine, and came with a UAW sticker on the windshield. That was about the last truck that was all made here.
Ford and GM. Co-Champions!! Why Not?
Because I would be stuck hating on dodge and that's to easy lol.
Because us honest Ford owners had to BAIL THEIR ASSES OUT WITH OUR FREAKIN' TAXES! ENJOY YOUR GM THAT WE BOUGHT YOU!
i wanna end TCS and go back to when driving was all about the driver and his car, not pressing buttons and relying on computers to drive for you.
Agreed
yep.
Take traction off.... it's still going to have computer input because they dont want cars to flip its s bad look on public perception
Ford, Chevy, Toyota to me it doesn't matter. I'm very grateful humans are even this intellectual and intelligent for all of this innovation. Truck lovers everywhere have to agree your brand wouldn't be where it was without the competition. Lets stop that hate and just be happy we get our trucks.
ford build quality and 7.3 diesel engine(they should make it again)+chevorlet's interior and mechanics=best truck earth has ever seen
I love videos like these, Its an honest comparison test to the best of the ability not a we are GM/Ford/Ram and look at the 3 things our truck is better at.
these guys have great un-bias reviews! I was impressed by the 6.2 in the ford
They have all the weight loaded in different areas on the trailer. Giving certain trucks more weight on the rear axle this increasing traction during takeoff
+Ryan Rechtzigel
Also, who knows how much they actually pressed on the gas ... this didn't seem to be a very scientifically accurate test to me XDDD
This is a real fair comparison not like some other where the sponsers truck wins all the time by half the time and double the speed
The new superduty has lived up to its legacy and its amazing how much it as been improved. It will be remembered for sure. The 6.2 is by far the best gas engine there. The best engine overall goes no doubt to the cummins powered ram. All great trucks and a testament to domestic cars. Good job guys
Best engine is the GMC 6.0L
@@Kevincheesepizza I've driven one a lot. I actually hate fords now, but its kinda a joke bc Im a chevy guy. I was less biased when I was younger go figure. I've a 4.3 vortec which is sbc architecture but they made a lot of improvements with the ls!!
Dodge step up your game!
the 3/4 ton diesels have the same identical engines as the 1 tons.. just in the case of this test, they are SRW and the 1 tons tested are dualies..
The 2014 Ram 1500 will have an optional 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel with 240HP/420 lb ft hooked up to an 8 speed auto. It will get about 30mpg on the highway, like the Jeep Grand Cherokee with the same engine.
Can you PLEASE do this same test with the new trucks, particularly the Ford F150 3.5TT ?
what were the guidelines of this test ?
1. pick your own throttle position
2. stay in first gear
3.hope the other driver does the same thing .
yup, that's how it's always been, and that's how it always will be
I don't care what people say my GMC Sierra 2500 is perfect for the job I do and I love it. Plus its american so extra plus that you cannot beat! I support any american made vehicle so all american trucks are my favorite.
@kcooley915 another way u can tell where a vehicle is made is by the serial number, (i don't know if this work on older vehicles) if the serial number begins with a 1, it is made in america, if it begins with a 2, it is made in canada, if it begins with a 3, it is made in mexico. this doesn't work with foreign cars
@dodgediesel441. The ford and chevy is running Higher rpm's because they are actually pulling heavy loads. While the dodge goes up with out the load cause it can't pull it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't even think GM even offers the 3/4 ton with the 6.2, only the 6.0. The 6.2 would be a nice offering but I'm sure GM did this so buyers that want/need more power have to opt for the Duramax, which is also a great engine.
all the brands look very sharp in this video... makes me wanna do some test driving
Got a brand new Silverado 2500HD gas. I like all the trucks here though
Now try the l5p (or in the future the 7th gen Duramax) vs current 🦂 vs current HO Cummins, plus gas L8T vs Godzilla vs HEMI 6.4.
That Ford is a beast
@goudeyman95
The 2007 shootout was done at Ford Proving Grounds. 2 Fords (f250 V10 and f450) won and 1 chevy won.
whats the difference between GMC and chevy?
so in 4x4 HOW MUCH DID THE FORD BEAT THE GM BY ? MORE THEN A SEC ?
Chevy always been the dominant truck here.
Watching this while listening to Kings of Leon Pick up Truck
i look at this are real world testing, yes it isnt much but its shows what is really out there, all 3 get the job done, some get more traction then others.
i have bin in all 3 as 3/4 tons towing the same trailer on the sameday GM and ford were neck and neck really cummins you could tell the diff it had tons fo power in low gear's but after third gear she just struggled! BUT it always got the job done!
another REAL WORLD, non-manufacturer test showing that the 2011 GM's are the new diesel truck kings.
@AKAMUSICkeepit100
I agree, they need to bring backt the 5.7. I love mine
They should do a new video with the 7.3 Ford Godzilla.
@kenfo0 The test are suppose to use the trucks features.
"Oh hey Ford has TC, lets not use it and fail to test Ford fully."
Right. Look at the Dodge, it had no TC, and had the roughest start of the 3 trucks with trouble finding traction.
@WoZIMoo are the new ones bad? i've only ever ridden in 2005 chevorlets and older and they were always the best of their time, but maybe the other ones stepped up their game. maybe dodge got some better seats in theirs and maybe ford got their seating angles right, i don't know, the newest pickup i've been in is an '05
@DodgeRam2500omaha I see your point, but would you rather break an axle, or beat the Didge to the top? lol. I haven't tested a Ford myself, but I want to sooo bad. I got a 1993 and I LOVE It!
@CowsXonXcrack yeah cummins had 650 but now its 800, and traction was a problem so thats why it got last
In this test do u have to use first gear or leaving it in drive without overdrive engaged do the job?
@AKAMUSICkeepit100 GM is coming out with an entire new line of small block v8's in 2014! I cannot wait!!!
Nice video thanks
...well he gave Ford credit for some wins.
@sevenoh9 I speak of a ravamped version of the chevy 5.7 350 Vortec... & Even the old one isn't that far away from a dodge 5.7. My 96 Chevy 5.7 Vortec runs 260 HP & 360 lbf Torque stock.
Either way I've never heard of the Powerstroke (6.7) being built or assembled in either country.
rams don't have tcs? if so that would explain alot... what about abs?
FORD IS THE BEST AND BUILD EXTREMELY TOUGH TODAY
Would be fun to try this with the ol Lb7
at 1:25 watch the guy in the chev he puts on 4wd and the trailers are set up
differently
gmc's are consistently the best looking trucks
@sevenoh9 true, but Chevy could push out 350 HP in that 5.7 Vortec stock as well.
aren't the cummins engines only 6 cylinders?
How Much Weight Are They Pullin ????
You get the right drive-train and the name on the grille is secondary. There is no real difference between a Heavy-Spec Kenworth or Peterbuilt. The big 3 all make a great truck and if you could spec. your drive-train that would be totally awesome!
I like these videos. They aren't rigged like the HD to HD videos that GM put out. Different trucks did better in different scenarios. A silverado couldn't possibly win them all. (I'm a chevy guy.)
@ryandabeast1 Only one problem with the tests... This is the GM test hill....
Why would you do the test in 2WD at all?
@heresyournametagmark i guess you missed the last quote, ( just for fun we did the same runs in 4wd and the ford beat out the denali.) so the denali was not in 4wd. i will still buy a duramax over a powerstroke and a cummins over the powerstroke aswell.
I'm tired of fuckin clearing this up. But For those who didn't know, this was a bull shit test. The Axel Ratio Per-gear of the SD was lower than the Chevy, despite the fact that they had the same Rear axel ratio. Lower-gearing means more pulling thrust, but less speed. It's also going to give you longer reliability in the long run. The test was apples to oranges, It was a speed test, not a pulling power test. And For the Super Duty to be even it would need a 3.31 Rear axel ratio.
@TheDodgeFan96 why would i want a 10 year old truck or older?
Those 1 ton trucks have enough torque to pull twice that weight up the steep hill. I would like to see 24k pounds better, that will show which truck has better torque distribution throughout the gearing in the transmission.
wait, chevy still puts 4x4 in the trucks? I figured after all the steering problems due to the weak front end would have put an end the gm 4x4.
Where is the Tundra ?
@MrBigblock7 Whatever you say son. If the V10 is just dead weight then what does that make the 6.0 chevy and 5.7 hemi? As in the last 3/4 ton shootout they had, all that "dead weight" destroyed both those motors in the uphill pull. So I guess the 6.0 and 5.7 are even less than dead weight.
That GMC is looking tight, but that blue Dodge ram is just so majestic looking, you know? Idk, as a dodge man, i am liking the competitons stuff more and more, Ram has just got to throw the serious stuff in like Ford and GM, or else I'm switching. My dad had a dodge 2500, got rid of it couple yrs ago cuz of job. but now he's looking at a GM 2500 Duramax/Allison. All these trucks are nice, just preference really.
planning on upgrading to a 2010ish 3/4 after my 94 f250 finally dies. Only has 190k, so I've got a while. sigh... I want a shiny newer truck lol.
shiny new truck? what for? That old one is just as good.
Y10Q Lol I agree and thats why im keeping it to at least 250k. It's a want thing, not a need. Still gonna get a newish one when the 94s done though.
that cant be right...thats the 2012 ranger and the 72 falcon..navistar is not ausy ... send me a link that says that
i want to see them.load the trailers utill.the trucks cant move
its gunny how much the ford squatted compared tothe chevy
you owe me 10 billion
Chuck Norris drives a Ram. Sadly, that is the only good reason I can think of for Ram ownership. The Ford and Chevy are both really nice, although if I were to get one, I would pick the Chevy. It is seriously sad how lagging the Ram is to the other two.
the ford spun in 2 wheel drive that's why in 4 wheel drive it couldn't be touched. the trailers wer loaded to help this so the ford would spin.
i am a GM guy through and through, i love the inter of a superduty, i also liek the 6.7 PSD great engine power wise, yes they drop valve's but meh? learning curve, the duramax is by far the best engine, cummins got there name of being good from the 12v and 24v engine's due to underpowered and over enginered if u change the oil and clean fuel they went for ever, the commin rail cummins well... if you could only see the shit i do with cummin's... would make you run expecfally the 6.7 cummins
How's that bailout doin?
G.M.C. and Chevrolet just spanked the butts of Ford and Dodge!
@stuntrider15 for the trans. and those years where the best for dodge beccuase it was when they had a special agreement with cummings that inly THEY can use thier motors so they were beter built for dodge
so the end of story is ford puts down so much power that it spins the back tires Loaded? I have a 2013 f350 4x4 dually with 4.30s but I have never tried this
@MadBassist2 Thank You!!!!
I own a 2012 Ford F-350 King Ranch with the 6.7 diesel. I love it and it's an awesome truck and does everything it is supposed to and then some. But I'm not a hater and will never claim, as a lot of people claim, that the others are "shit" because I happen to drive a Ford. I have news for you, people: ALL THESE TRUCKS ARE AWESOME AND TO SAY ONE IS SHIT COMPARED TO THE OTHER IS SHALLOW TO SAY THE LEAST.
@01152618 "go green" happend. People think V10s directly kill polar bears or something.
Ford's 2011 6.7L Powerstroke, 400hp and 800tq
the 2014 half tons from Gm are doing amazing and they have only bin out for 2 months, i work at a GM dealer, Gm WAS suffering at one point that was 2 years ago they are no longer having any major issues whatever the media is saying is wrong, Ford is not having issues eathor, so this arguement is pointless in my eyes.
CHEVY!!!! Put the 6.2 in the 2500 gas modles, youd get much better HP and Torque, and better towing outta it!!!
Where is this place?
@gochargersgo682 I presume it means a 4 cylinder engine???
@MercuryMorrison1 well it really wasnt an actual DRAG RACE, i mean come on, it was just to put them together to see who would make better move up top.
@frankiej510 yea mike roe tested the 2010 version not the new 2011 they knew that they wouldn't win so they used the 2010.
@01152618 i thought the 6.2 v8 wasent comeing out till 2011?
@Adamran123 Thats why Ford won right?
Lesson learned: buy a ford, and if you are towing 12k lbs up 16%, put it in 4 wheel drive. That's what I heard anyway
nathania14-if u look on the inside of the door on a dodge cummings ...it says made in mexico!look on the inside of a gmc and it says made in georgia.....do i need to say anymore
its all good!
just for fun watch it and look at how many times they spun out where the f350 is sitting. they must have done this 10 times before they shot it.
not quite. they have different engines available and different packages. from what ive seen the gmc's are more show and the chevy's are more go. because if you look at yukon compared with tahoe, and silverado compared with sierra. the chevy trucks have an optional z71 package, made for off road. while the gmc trucks have a denali package, made for on road. the chevy has a better engine and other bits for working and the gmc has better ride for on road comfort. (sorry to ramble a bit)
wish those duels were cheaper here in Australia, Import tax's are a bitch
I LOVVVE GMC'S
The only reason that Dodge did so bad was because that Cummins engine was probably ready to rip the rear end the fuck out. Other wise the all did great.
In terms of the gas trucks: I wonder how the results would be if GM still offered the Vortec 8100/Allison combo in their trucks. The Ford would have in on horsepower (since GM hasn't redesigned it), but has all that steady low end torque. It would be a little bit closer, but the Ford would still win. Love me some GM though :)
As of today, Chevy is 27 a share and ford is 13 a share, lol. So who is killing it?
@dublyooteeeff dude i couldnt agree more. I a ford guy, but the new look is trash. So im debating on what to get, good looks and great power, or great power and tacky looks.
I don't know about all of you but when I tow a trailer I don't want to be the fastest. I want the smoothest easiest to handle truck. When towing fastest doesn't mean shit. Not knocking any truck just saying that should not be your motive.
