There is no mistaking that's Danns playing. The way his bend and wide vibrato sings is very different to Sykes. This is 100% without a doubt Dann Huff.
Fantastic classic rock perfection is Whitesnake !!! Also , check out , " Doesn't Matter Where Or When ," an original rocking song and video on my site . Thanks . Adam Holtz
No disrespect to Dann Huff but if someone liked this one over original, clearly have problems in the head or just another hiphoper ! Even after being great guitarist himself, Dann acknowledged the workmanship of John Sykes heavily and calmly rejected the whitesnake joining offer and told them to bring Sykes back!
Anyone read the Keith Olsen interview(Producer of 1987)he says Sykes playing was so bad on a lot of the songs that Dann Huff was brought in to clean up the solos!!
And yet, you can hear Blue Murder's debut album and tell how the phrasing, bends, vibrato and chops are all John Sykes. Even Vandenberg said it on an interview, Sykes recorded and wrote everything. Only a non guitar player or someone without good hearing would say it aint Sykes all over that album. Dan Huff is a great guitar player tho, but even he told Coverdale: "What you need is to bring John Sykes back". Keith just wants to make John Sykes as a fraud, but yet Dan and Vandenberg had already told everything we had to know.

...nothing beats the original..but this is a great version too :) 80's rock!
Definitly...my favorite version too!!!!I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!
Hi! I actually prefer this version of the song. Although things have changed in Whitesnake and I love what Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach are playing.
The solo on the 1987 album for this song was played by Adrian Vandenberg.
I like all three versions.
I like this the best
Dann Huff from GIANT on guitar!
somebody says Dann Huff plays in this version of this hit.. what do you know guys?
In this version it is in fact Dan Huff playing. The 1987 record version (with keyboard intro) it is Sykes.
Bubbatha Ohio Thank you!
Bubbatha Ohio i hope i'm not too late.. the record version solo was adrian vandenberg. That is the only song he played and the rest was Sykes.
1987 radio-mix version
David Coverdale - lead vocals; Dann Huff - guitar; Mark Andes - bass; Denny Carmassi - drums; Don Airey,Bill Cuomo- keyboards
Definitely Huff... the best imho.
Best Version :)
Beste versie van dit nummer

excelente versión de este tema, mejor que el video oficial.
Yup! :)
Is that Dann Huff playing the solo?
ink yep
Wish Dan would have replicated or “improved” (if possible) Vandenberg’s solo - Huff’s version feels lazy....
@@thinktwice888-p4d Ahh I can't believe I made that comment 11 years ago! There's a blast from the past.
ink ha ha - yeah, funny when that shit happens eh - always with old skool tunes too.
Here I g0:00 again ;)
Fantastic solo by Dann Huff but Vandenberg's solo on the album version is perfection. Both are much better than the '82 version.
sound needs remastering but great song i allways sing to it

@@madden7732 Well said M.
This is just too 80's pop sounding. Too many keyboards that were typical of pop songs of the era. Terrible when compared to the original.
Yeah, Sykes gave that version of the song the heaviness it needed imo.
@@madden7732 absolutely agree
Didn't know this existed. Horrible. Almost sickening.
It was the record company's idea to do a version for radio that sounded "more like Journey". Luckily radio mostly played the album version
Way to butcher that song...ugh
This version sucks
