Most people (except musicians) don't realize that guitar there has been played on so many hit records that were on the radio that they've listened to through out the 80s, and the 90s.
I like the way he gets a thick and warm sound out of his Strat, instead of those piercing highs that many Strat players are stuck into. His melodic playing is delicious. This is not a guitar tune, this is a piece of music.
That would be the Demeter mid- boost he had installed back in the 80s. Otherwise it would just be just a Seymour Duncan JB on the bridge, and Hot Stacks on the neck and mid. Which are great. But the mid-boost takes it to the next level.
Must be.... I'm a guitar guy and I've literally never heard of him. lol I'm pretty well impressed but I'd need to see some more, especially if he's got his own stuff.
You ever hear of GIANT Dann's band?Awesome stuff!! Rex Caroll another great guitarist- White Cross.Dan must like Roy Buchanan who wrote it for Jeff Beck!
I'm not sure if he's underrated. He's played on everything. Retracked an entire Megadeath album because they were drunk and it sounded terrible when they recorded it. I think he is just less known rather than underrated??
i know dan huff as a studio, producer and a session guitarist, but when i heard "free bird" of wynonna from skynyrd frynrd album, since then he was now on one of my favourite guitarist and i liked him more when i found out lately that he was behind the solo of "said i loved you but i lied" by michael bolton..
NICE JOB... THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SONGS SO PERFECTLY RECORDED THAT IT DEFIES REPRODUCTION... IMHO... I ALWAYS HOPED ANDY TIMMONS WOULD TAKE A SHOT AT IT... HE WON'T, FOR THE REASON CITED.
Alot of the time people vote for people because they like their music. How many times has Steve Lukather been included in those lists too. I can't ever remember seeing him on any of those lists.
It’s amazing how many people, who have done absolutely nothing, are on here talking smack about Dann. The internet is so ridiculously filled with delusional people. Unreal. Go back to the Gearpage.
uuum, this wasn't actually any good at all. Not even close to Jeff, nor Luke for that matter. DH should just do the shred thing, sorry, this ain't his bag. The pedal steel guy was more on the money. Dann didn't even follow the changes.
This is why you don't EVER mess with classics live.....don't do it Beck probably sounded this cheesy in the studio, but the engineers worked their magic.....listen to any classic hit......not good live, unless it's Judas Priest!!....spot on, note for note when Glenn was at the helm!!
Dann Huff. The greatest guitar player you've never heard of. Except for us lucky few!
Dan Huff is a Giant. Such an influence on me as a guitarist and producer. So much respect...
Pun intended?
Most people (except musicians) don't realize that guitar there has been played on so many hit records that were on the radio that they've listened to through out the 80s, and the 90s.
Dann Huff is Awesome, I love the orignal old style Floyd Rose bridges and his yellow Tyler guitar. It is my dream to own one.
Dan Huff is a phenomenal studio musician

Yes great here. When. He was big 80s. His guitar playing was a 10 but they over processed everybody then
Strat sound warm and thick. Watch Eric Johnson. Do you even play guitar? Yeah I doubt it
The originator of the song Jeff Beck, live at Ronnie Scott is a great listen

Love Dann! - He's in my top two... three... no, two... (!) 😁
GOD WHAT CONTROL,PHRASEING,TASTE,LOVE IT THE MOST.
Remember the Giant days as well as Delbert McClinton, Great Producer, and fantastic Voice, Frickin Monster of Guitar!!!!
Unknown to most but everyone has enjoyed his music.
Always loved Dan's solo on Meet Me Halfway-Kenny Loggins. Tasty stuff.
One of my all time FAVS of his!
Rick Beato interview Dan!
Sound great, Dan. Big fan🫡🇧🇳

Dann Huff is the most underrated guitarist of the world.

Along with Carl Verhayen
Damn, sooo good! Most people have no idea about this iconic musician & producer.
Beautiful performance

Dan Huff never ceases to amazing - total phenom player! PS…. Is that Paul Franklin on pedal steel? With Bill Ward on drums, damn what a session.
Yep that Mr. Franklin.
Monstro toca muito e canta muito 🏆
True Gaint' Dan Huff! Nuff Said' 🎼🎸🇺🇸
The Master Huff !
This is SICK!!!
literally, vomitworthy..................
Great performance great chops great feel.
My favourite guitarist since I was a kid! So inspiring!
Great playing.
Give me a fucking break, he destroyed it..................
One of the best! Love his playing on the Scritti Politti albums
Paul Franklin playing Jeff Beck, too. Love it!
Great!
Awesome!!!!
You are so awesome.
Thanks...........
Dude!!!
One of the least known guitar monsters of all time.
Least known??? I think is one of the most famous session guitar players in the world....He, Mike Landau and Lukather...🙏
Great guitarist first heard him with GIANT. wonderful sound .
@@mariorojas3724 lukather is my favourite but there all brilliant really. Tommy denander is up there also .
@@mariorojas3724 Exactly. Most non-musicians don't even know what a session guitarist is..
....he's known pretty well in Nashville.....👌
Best viewed video of my evening. Guitar genius!
Phenomenal!
One of the great gutarist to ever play ,a lot of guitar players don't now who he is,check out his work you will love it
A stellar guitarist! 2:15 that's stage experience!

I saw Dann play this in the early 90s at the Ace of Clubs in Nashville and it was much better (it was with Giant though so they knew the structure)
💚🖤💚🖤 🇧🇷 Referência...
Fuck, that was beautiful. Not too many guitarists standing toe-to-toe with Jeff Beck.
He doesn't either
Wow. What else can be said.
I think my phone just melted.
Wow
Great version of this song. The guy playing steel looks familiar.
I want to take lessons from this man
Ich habe ihn Ende der 80‘er das erste Mal wahrgenommen. Durchschlagend! Ich erkenne Ihn am ersten Ton (Madonna, Pur Abenteuerland)
Ich verstehe nicht, Im from Ireland!!
Dann huff is my favorite guitar player
I like Dan Huff when with Michael W smith Albums 1990, 1995
Jeff Beck "The Best" But This Guy Does a Great Job,, I seen Jeff do this Many Times "Live" and is Unbeatable
Not my favorite jam for sure. But hey. It's Dann Huff. Anything with Dann.... I'm good. Great musician. Great song-writer. Great player.
You can tell Jeff was a huge influence on him
I just donated my guitar to Goodwill. Would you guys like the location? LOL
The 2 thumbs down are from Pearl Jam fans.
Now the total is - 4 morons.
5 morons now!!!😂
Did something bad happen between Pearl Jam and Dann? 😮
Yes the grunge movement 🪲🤢
Does anyone on the stage actually know where they are in the song?😊
Drummer screwed the pooch.
What a player wow. Equil to beck and then some. Brilliant!
No one is equal to Jeff Beck, he is unique, that's why guitarists try to copy him!
Bollocks....................
In ur mind only !!!
It's frustrating to see guitarists like The Edge and Pete Townshend on the 100 great guitarists list while guys like Dan remain unknown to many.
Alot of the time people vote for people because they like their music. How many times has Steve Lukather been included in those lists too. I can't ever remember seeing him on any of those lists.
Jeepers never heard this guy, vaguely recognize the name. Monster player
Holy Macarel!
Brilliant work. Sadly covering brilliant work..
Dan can Play and chew gum at the same time!!! :o) Such a great player!

Stevie Wonder wrote this song for Beck....nice version!!!!....I miss GIANT!!!!
Stevie wrote that song for his wife Syreeta Wright, not for Jeff Beck ! ruclips.net/video/UKt-zMH8c3c/видео.html ;)
he actually wrote it for his wife at the time SYREETA .
@@danriley903 Exactly what I wrote ;)
Seems to make even more musical sense than Beck's, which is saying something...
A good rendition but totally misses the point. Where is the girl on the bass.
Where is Tal?
What...
JB had space between the notes and dynamics.
DH is full on overdrive.
Really great player, but to me a cover of a Jeff Beck song just never seems right.
Looks like every bar has that annoying women shouting at the bar no matter who’s on stage.
Tried to like this JB song over the years.
Always found it too boring.
This song is all about dynamics. Not hearing that from Dann here.
At last.someone with ears.....................
