No disrespect to Dann Huff but if someone liked this one over original, clearly have problems in the head or just another hiphoper ! Even after being great guitarist himself, Dann acknowledged the workmanship of John Sykes heavily and calmly rejected the whitesnake joining offer and told them to bring Sykes back!
This version sucks

There is no mistaking that's Danns playing. The way his bend and wide vibrato sings is very different to Sykes. This is 100% without a doubt Dann Huff.

This is just too 80's pop sounding. Too many keyboards that were typical of pop songs of the era. Terrible when compared to the original.
Yeah, Sykes gave that version of the song the heaviness it needed imo.

It was the record company's idea to do a version for radio that sounded "more like Journey". Luckily radio mostly played the album version

Anyone read the Keith Olsen interview(Producer of 1987)he says Sykes playing was so bad on a lot of the songs that Dann Huff was brought in to clean up the solos!!

And yet, you can hear Blue Murder's debut album and tell how the phrasing, bends, vibrato and chops are all John Sykes. Even Vandenberg said it on an interview, Sykes recorded and wrote everything. Only a non guitar player or someone without good hearing would say it aint Sykes all over that album. Dan Huff is a great guitar player tho, but even he told Coverdale: "What you need is to bring John Sykes back". Keith just wants to make John Sykes as a fraud, but yet Dan and Vandenberg had already told everything we had to know.

Fantastic solo by Dann Huff but Vandenberg's solo on the album version is perfection. Both are much better than the '82 version.

In this version it is in fact Dan Huff playing. The 1987 record version (with keyboard intro) it is Sykes.

Hi! I actually prefer this version of the song. Although things have changed in Whitesnake and I love what Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach are playing.
