Def some good points, gentlmen. Especially the other party overvaluing their card(s) or collection while undervaluing yours. I also frown on mark ups that are astronomically higher than the market dictates.

I don't generally trade unless it's with friends, it just seems so tedious. Also, like you said, I always have this feeling that my stuff is way more valuable than the stuff I am trading for.

Yeah, I pretty much do the same. Unless I trust you enough to do direct fnf to begin with, probably won’t do much trading.
And I’m the same way. Obviously my stuff is more valuable!.. even if I’m looking to get the stuff you have

The best trade I ever did was with a friend. I had bought a lot of Death Star II, and had spare Jedi Lukes and Emperors. I am more of a video game player, and he was more of a card game player. I traded some extras that I wouldn't need for games he wasn't going to be playing. We both won, getting something we wanted for something we didn't need.

That’s a great trade. I always worry about trading with friends and them feeling like I’m “ripping them off” so I tend to trade in favor of the other person just to avoid this uncomfortableness. Needless to say, I don’t do much of it any more as it then leaves me with that feeling!

An eBay one: when someone lists a very expensive card and doesn't take a picture of the back. Like if I'm going to spend more than a couple hundred dollars on a URF, I'm going to be pretty picky about condition and I need to see the back and they couldn't take another 20 seconds to make that happen?
TCG player is a little scary with not showing any photos, but thankfully Unlimited is so new it's not an issue. I don't think I could buy a Showcase on there though.
Haven't had any too crazy envelopes in the Unlimited buys I've done. That Shipping Shield product is pretty decent. Picked up some for my own selling.

Totally agree. The ease at which people think they can offload this stuff. Like one picture and I’m done, gimme $200 kthx. Like, can we get a little bit more love here?

always appreciate people that make "pull" tabs with the tape - otherwise sellers "idea" of condition seems to be my biggest issue 8P

C'mon man. Trust me, the random internet stranger with Friends and Family payment. You can trust me really! :/ Never fun. The conversation about trading really hits. I think TCG player made trading really arduous because everyone wants to "win the trade". Trading is not fun these days.

Win the trade… that’s a good way to put it. It also inherently implies that someone “loses” the trade. And it just sucks to do this battle back and forth on who is winning and losing. I ain’t got the time anymore.

@@boardmatt It's started when people were doing "pack to power" trades where they open a single booster and use only it's contents to "trade up" in every trade until they can get a piece of power 9. Fun idea, but requires lots of good will from tading partners.
