Episode 1 of the Card Lounge Podcast is out: If you want to listen to genuine collectors discuss the hobby!
ruclips.net/video/69uXl3bN3Vc/видео.htmlsi=rPhyA5PvEjWVJ0sy
Honestly I don’t care about the price of the cards it could be the cheapest card but if I like it then that card is priceless to me
Real. But the cool cards are usually the more expensive
Its giving yugiohs grandpa in episode 1
This is the exact reason I wanna start collecting them
@@romant3080 fr
Thats Ninetails for me. IDK, slick looking fox. . . I smell what you’re steppin in.
One really important pointer I have is please just stick to official product. Do not buy “mystery packs” or “mystery slabs” from these third party companies. At the end of the day, nothing you pull will ever be to your benefit as these companies are there to make MONEY. Buy etbs, boxes, promos, any official product. Don’t fall into the trap and happy hunting
Not true. I've gotten alt arts out of the packs
Couldn't agree more!!! 👏
@@Whatsupwithjandbyou just got lucky luv
It really depends on who you buy from. Those seen at retail stores are absolute garbage and no one should spend a dime on them. However, the last mystery pack I bought was from Danny with his phanny packs and I got a shiny holo rare Charizard GX from Hidden Fates!!
@2girls_1up yup I agree I got a moonbron from a evolved skies pack
honestly this is the best generation to get back into pokemon card collecting! With the pull rates being the absolute best so far!
The pull rate isn’t great with 151 honestly! If u want decent pull rates I would recommend Crown Zenith
"Pull rates being the best so far"...? You obviously haven't opened many sets in the last 12 months then.
I hate this generation all these new sets suck these new pokemon are sucky
@@Barnyholmes I dont understand how people keep having bad experiences with 151 🤔Every time I open any 151 packs, I always get at least 1 hit every 3 packs
@@realbillymiller1011 I've actually been opening pack since mid pandemic 😅 and I'm comparing whole generations, not just individual sets. With scarlet and violet era you can find every set out on shelves, that provide amazing hits rates! Yes the later sets from the sword and shield era are still available and provide great hits rates. But with them being in a completely separate generation, you would get the feeling of missing out (i.e. FOMO) on the mid through earlier sets. Which most of those sets are not easily accessible and/or completely out of their price range.
thank you for being a Pokemon Creator who's not screaming
This xD
Agreed! I try to do the same lol
amen
@@adengillum6267 if that sub was you I appreciate it!

I started collected this month after buying the 151 etb for myself as a Christmas present just to "dip my toes back in" as I used to collect when the original base set was released. After not following Pokemon cards for 20 years, I have to say that as a beginner collector, right off the bat it feels good getting multiple cards with a foil/holo attribute to them in every booster pack! But it certainly feels even better when one of them happens to be a full art card! I'm definitely loving how much the cards have evolved since the last time I handled them, and I'm excited to see where this new hobby goes! Thanks for all the great videos, they're incredibly informative!
Same! Then I went for a UPC and din't regret it. Now I'm in
Same same! My buddies are all way more into it then myself, but I knew I wanted to start with the 151 (being a Gen 1’r). I never had money growing up so it’s nice to start later in life, takes me back to simpler times for sure. Good luck on your pulls Gentlemen!
We just have adult money now and can buy anything
I stopped the video and bought that trainer box the instant you showed that snorlax card. That is art. That is exactly why I want to get back into tcg.
Yeah the new art direction is why I got back into it myself, still love all my Black and White and XY cards but the art is much better now.
Snorlax is my favorite pokemon kinda sucks that this etb is like $90 now was hoping to get it for cheaper
@@Onyx_Dripp You could just buy the snorlax separately
Thank you for this video, I just got back into collecting because of 151. Have already made some great memories because of the community. Pulled the charizard yesterday and helped a little boy start his own 151 binder collection with all the bulk.
To those starting out the lingo and all the different rarity levels can be overwhelming.
Been a pokemon fan since 2000 never got into the tcg until today when my daughter got into it she binge watched the first season today and it sparked the drive in me to collect she was super excited . Watching videos like this helps because it’s overwhelming getting into it now with all the different sets and cards
That’s adorable!
Just dusted off my childhood collection (about 500ish, mostly cards from '06-'09) and I had so much fun sorting them all again! I've been slowly adding them to a deck tracker. I picked up a binder and added in all my favourites since they've been in a box for a decade or so. I fully intend to collect one of every pokemon, but I'll need way more storage space lol.
As someone who's gotten more into the hobby since 2020, I've definitely accumulated a pretty decent amount of cards. And I'm very happy with what I had the priveledge to add to my collection.😊 Speaking of amazing cards, I opened more Crown Zenith today. My local Walmart had one more booster bundle in stock and it was absolutely stacked! I pulled 2 more chase cards, which now means I'm only 4 more cards away from completing the set!
For anyone out there new to the hobby I definitely suggest Crown Zenith if you want to get spoiled with pulls!
Have you tried VSTAR Universe boxes as well?
Yeah! They are super good, and also you could do paradox rift, their super good
Id recommend starting by getting a high quality binder and also some normal sleves before picking up cards.
Could you recommend one binder please?
Could you recommend one binder please?
@PabloLopez-tz2zq I use palms off gaming ones but vault x are also very nice too
@@PabloLopez-tz2zqI’m getting into the hobby for the first time; I decided on a Vault X 4-Pocket to start off. I’ve also heard that Ultra Pro’s products are pretty good, too.
Vaults or palms off
I used to collect Pokémon cards as a kid because I’ve always preferred the card game but unfortunately as I’ve moved so much then, a bunch got damaged. Thank you for this video, it really helps me know where to start again ❤️
Totally agree! ETBs are the easiest way to start collecting. Not only do you get a promo but you also get additional goodies with it and the packs. Their price tag is also not that high compared to booster boxes, so it's overall a good "keep it sealed" item as well 🎉
You legit STARTED my 151 obsession (other account) and helped me decide to get Surging sparks... which is doing great for me! Thank you
I would have bought the 151 etb but, there was a paldea evolved etb for sale at 28 dollars and it was a fun set to open.
Amazing Cards!
Maushold it’s stunning!
I think this is the perfect starting video. Honestly listening to your intro reminded me why I love opening packs and being in the hobby.
This video is so helpful. Introduced my son to Pokémon last year. He’s now very into them but I had no idea where to begin on the cards. This video is great.
Im 36 and slowly getting interested in buying Pokemon cards. I've recently bought Yu-Gi-Oh legendary desks for the nostalgia but this 151 collection looks fun. Definitely brings back memories when i wanted to collect but didnt have too much money to spend. Now we have adult money haha. Lets see if i can still find these sets.
I just purchased this pack, i will pick it up on the weekend.
My step brother had pokemon cards when i was a kid but i never had my own set
I just went through my youtube watch history and this video started me on my pokemon card collecting journey. I'm only missing a dozen or so cards from the 151 master set now that its been 2 months. Thanks for this video!
It’s been another month now-how are you progressing?
I bought my first ETB back in December just to rip some packs open and forward to 3 weeks ago i got myself a binder and sleeves and start collecting 151 set my only problem is 151 is not popular where i live and expensive so it will be abit hard to complete the set but so far so much fun and satisfying experience cant wait to complete my whole 207 cards 😍
And to the newcomers starting their collections and depending on how many cards they want to collect. Imo, I may recommend getting a card binder that can hold 1k cards. If you want to be a hardcore new collector. But for casual collecting I may recommend a 4 or 9 page first
Hey just came across your video. I played MTG as a teen, but all my friends played Pokemon. Now that I'm almost 40 with a 5 and 6 year old daughter, I can't wait to play Pokemon with them. Thanks for the recommendation!
The easiest way to start is for sure the etb but buying new means you pay more. Soft sleeves are cheap, you can use dice as damage tokens, and you can pick up storage containers if you need them too. What I recommend is find the cards you like and buy them on a secondary market individually like tcg player. Most rare cards are still cheap, you will almost always loose money opening packs. Only open packs if you enjoy opening packs, there is no other reason to do it.
151 is one of my fav set. The artworks are stunning
First step is to take out a loan.
Pokemon cards are so expensive these days thanks to resellers and scalpers. The funny thing is, they drive the retail price up because of the high demand but the actual card values are going down because there are so many out there.
I think I have every ETB since Sword and Shield released. Such a fun item. Good value, I display them all even while opened, put the common cards in the boxes, use the sleeves for good cards then put in a binder.
I love the fact they i can avoid new Pokemon with this
best tip you'll ever hear for collecting is, buy the individual cards as they are much cheaper!! instead of buying a huge box with no guarantee of getting good cards if u but the card you want from online directly it will be much easier faster and cheaper for your collection
I wish someone told me this when I first started I would have almost everything 😂nothing beats the feeling of ripping packs everyone in the house out their phones down for those short few minutes 🎉
As someone who stopped playing/collecting In 2019, this was really informative, I just went and picked up 2 silver tempest trainer boxes... I think the cards in that set look cooler than the 151 cards ❤
That Blastoise EX edition and trainer Nessa helped me beat one of the most difficult electric decks I have ever had the privilege to play against. That Blastoise is like my baby in my water deck. Not unbearable but have at least three cards to get him back and a less strong Lumineon V to buy me time and a Cryoganol to build up energy in my water. That Blastoise EX though -- sent my water deck to a different level :').
I went and bought a 151 booster box a few days ago to get started, and not even two packs in I pulled a Charizard ex. I think that’s a good sign I should keep pulling lmaooo. Went back to the store immediately and bought one of those hard acrylic card protectors 😭
This vid was like attending day 1 at pokemon card school. Not that thats a bad thing, this will be very useful for new collectors. 👍
0:45 bro really has the charizard unsleeved? (i know its temporary for the video, but even then, thats craaaaazy) :D
I stopped buying boosters and just buy the cards I want for my collection.
I am sick of having 1000 bulk cards for finding 5 cards I want that I can get even cheaper this way.
Opening boosters is of course more fun but you can save so much money.( depending on the cards you get)
If you have a local card stop in your location, you can trade in the bulk stuff
Do you have any other advice on starter boxes as this one is currently sold out 😢
I had the idea of starting the collection when I saw the alternates in this series!
Since each series doesn't necessarily have cards that interest me, I'm going to start with a pokemon version of the national pokedex in the art I prefer.
I just have to figure out how to protect the cards in terms of sleeves, there are so many of them.
Picked up an ETB this weekend on a whim. Pulled two ex’s, full art Blastoise and Giovanni’s Charisma, and the SIR Zapdos and Charizard. Couldn’t believe it.
I got 4 Pokemon 151 Ultra Premium Collection boxes. Now that I think about it, I should’ve just got me this elite box and save me some money. 😅 all well it was a great experience.
I started just now, i bought a booster box (It's on my local language but it's fine, english ones are pretty pricey) a binder and some packs sleeve, and a toploader too! (just in case i find a pokemon that i like very much)
Just recently got back into collecting this year bc of 151 had so much fun opening OG Pokémon cards
I am just getting back into the hobby! great intro video. I cant wait to start collecting all of my favorite tanky cards again.
Ive started back into it with shrouder fable😄 hoping to get some 151 aswell in new year
I want to start getting back into tcg and seeing the amazing art work again. I miss placed all my old evolution packs, black and white packs and a bunch more then I moved and lost them all. Thanks for the great video I’m definitely contemplating weather or not it’s worth starting to collect all over again :)
Great recommendations for people like myself trying to start collecting 🙌
I'm planning to start collecting with the new 2025 cards, especially the new Trainer Pokemon cards.
Thanks so much for this info! I grew up watching pokemon but I’m fan only of the original 150, so glad which ones I need to buy!
Thanks for this! I started my own binder collection!
Maybe a video on selling cards. How to package ect.
Guess I found this too late. I can't find a single pack of 151. supposedly they restocked at target, only for them to be instantly sold out. price has jumped too :(
Found your video and thought 151 set this is ideal for my daughter and I. Find it’s out of stock and only selling for two/three times the original price on eBay. Welcome to the world of Pokemon card collecting I guess 😢
I just bought 3 etb’s and an ultra premium to start collecting again. I just pulled the full art charizard!
yooo thank you for all the info all the time Jake!
For anyone starting out again: this is definitely not average pull rates. Opened 38 boosters with a friend the other day, got the same number of "valuable cards" as in this video...
It's still fun when you get one, but just keep in mind that most boosters you'll be disappointed and you won't even notice cards that are not holo (like the guy in the video).
Get 6 pulls, and a mis cut card. Two double yellow star trainers all from 9 pack of a elete trainer box, and then rest were holos!
I got back into with a 151 UPC. Mind u I stopped collecting in the Sun and Moon Era. These new sets are next level
you might want to update this for the prices, i just got into collecting them, and these boxes are outrageous in cost. so i started with some cheaper elite boxes that were in my price range, and also some ebaying. in total im about 300 dollars in. i found a gengar box for cheap, but i want to collect all the ghost type pokemon, their evolutions, holos, and versions. and my favorite nostalgic cards. phyduck, poliwhirl, squirttle, ect ect.
Honestly I just want those full art cards so I might pick single cards and maybe once in a while buy some booster box
The 151 binder pack is also quite good for beginners if you don’t have a binder yet. Also comes with 4 packs
Sleeve the card upside down so that it covers the top of the card when it's in the toploader.
Hey! Just recently got into collecting. How do you store your cards that you put in toploaders? Mine are currently just sitting inside an ETB.
You can buy a binder that can fit a top loader
Got back in last week. Hard to find 151 etb now. Still grabbing any 151 product I run into though to finish a set hopefully. Struggles real now that it’s not the latest set lol
I started with paldean fates 😊
I feel like the universe brought me back into collecting at the best time. It was right before 151 came out in Japan. Its ben really good to me too - 4 SAR Chirizards!!!!!
So as someone who collected back in the day and just started entering there old collection into an app, not gonna lie i got really excited again. So i would like to know when opening boosters the spectrum of how rare a card is from least to most rare if possible.
After you buy one of these boxes . what would you do next ? what do you buy ?
Thank you!! This was really informative!
Bought my first 151 product an etb and pulled the secret art charizard
10:10 dont single sleeve cards that are valuable and important to you, even with a top-loader. you're gonna regret the dust buildup later on.
just double sleeve them at least. and use a side-loading binder or a top-loader (stored somewhere out of the sunlight)
This is the set I would have gone for but its sold out and anyone selling it is is doing it at twice the price 😅
I'll have to find something else to be my first purchase
Just bought the upc plus 4 packs as my introduction to Pokémon cards (played the games as a kid but never grabbed a pack). First pack I open I receive the illustration rare charmander✨ couldn’t be more happy despite feeling my wallet getting lighter and lighter…😅
Cheer~~~bring or gather together (things, typically when scattered or widespread).😊
I opened so many cards on my channel and 151 is the best in my opinion.
In short, go buy stuff. (Preferably at or below retail)
The 151 idea is so cool I like the new ones but I’m definitely gonna start the 151 set for the og ones
I would be interested to learn about storing your cards
Wow i was debating whether it was the Mew 151 premium or this, i feel that this vid tipped the scales to this ETB :D Thank you
Hi! Haven’t boughten cards since probably 2002, as of Oct 2024 what’s the go to ETB or set I should buy to start fresh and get back in?
These ETB boxes are expensive now. Is there an other ETB you would recommend?
Bro that pokemon 151 is wild great content by the way.
does it matter what set i decide to choose or is there better ones than others.
Yeah like for me I want to get into it after watching your channel and coops collection etc and for me I’d be like woah a halo vaporean I’ll top load it.
I just think it’s cool. I’m not going to slab it but, like def a top loader
A while back I pulled a golden necrozma GX (100-200$) and I traded for a bunch of other crappy cards because I was new and didn’t know the value of it. I still regret it to this day😭😭😭
Hey guys, i just started collecting and my question is, what cards do you put in hard toploaders and what cards you dont? And those who go in the toploader, do you single or double sleeve it first?
Dont overspend on ripping packs. Perhaps buy one sealed product for a set youre interested to rip, and buy one to keep sealed. And then just chip away at singles when the costs come down. Do not overspend!!!
i pulled the charizard from my etb yesterday on my first pack too
the non sleeved charzards in the beginning
What is the soft sleeve brand you use? What fits closest to the themed ones so it doesn’t stick out? I’d like some clear ones to show the 2024 championships decorations on the back of the cards that I grabbed :)
A few years back I bought boxes that were pre done decks that you could just battle with right away. This was so much fun for quick play no stress thinking you've done a terrible job putting a deck together.
I don't remember what they are called though and I can only find content on things like this video, which is just packs and card volume. Can anyone help?
Why are none of those Chars sleeved lol
I want to get this etb but the prices are crazy now
How likely will this get another print? I’ve been umming and aaahhing about getting back into TCG for months and finally dropped £400 on every 151 product today (ETB, UPC, 10 mini tins, binder, poster set and the two EX boxes) and now I’m worried that I won’t be able to get to complete the master set if they stop becoming available this year. Stock here in the UK seems to be rare at the moment and now I’m scared I’ve wasted money starting this set!
Thinking about starting to collect again, have to start from zero because I sold everything I had 20 years ago for a STUP1D small price 🫣
I was a Pokemon fan during the kanto era, so gen 1 and 2 are what I know. I’m leaning towards starting with the 151 because of the gen 1 Pokemon but I see that that’s starting to get sold out everywhere. Do you recommend I start with the next new scarlet and violet prismatic evolution series? Or still go with the 151?
Would it be smart or recommended when starting to collect to focus on a specific set or get multiple sets?
I'm new to pokemon card collecting, how am I able to find the value for each pokemon card I pull? (what app, site or etc.)
I just got into these since I love the games, my boyfriend and I hit a toedscool full art holo and a secret rare fighting energy from the first couple scarlet violet packs we opened!
Is this box set something I can hold onto for 10 or 15 years and see the value go up?
What are the best modern day packs to buy to achieve the most expensive cards?
whats the difference with this one and the Ultra Premium Collection
Never picked up an ETB, but will for sure with temporal forces really excited for that set
