Team worked SUPER hard on putting this video and timeline together! Hope you all enjoy!
First like and I did really enjoy this video!😅😅😅
We will(:
dude props your edıtıng guy needs a raıse
Awesome video, well done. Crown zenith/vstar is my personal favorite
Great video idea bro!!
My mom worked high up in a kiosk store that sold cards in the 90's in Norway and she got a first edition base set box as a sample. None of the other ceos had young kids when Pokemon first came out, so she took it. I vividly remember opening a box with my sister as a 5 year old. Over the years we always got the first new cards. First edition packs as rewards for cleaning our rooms, doing the dishes, etc.
The luck of a champion with richness man. Ik you were happy as hell.
Kudos to you for recognizing an awesome opportunity to recap the entire TCG when it really hadn't been done in this format by other RUclipsrs. As someone who was a kid when Base set hit, I imagine this would be even more interesting/useful for younger people who don't remember the early sets or eras.
I'm amazed that despite there being so many RUclips videos there's still stuff like this that's never been done before.
Great job. This is exactly the type of refresher I need coming back into Pokémon cards. 151 did such a great job with the nostalgia factor.
I went through my old Pokemon card collection that was just loose in a box, and found Shining Magikarp, Shining Tyranitar, and Shining Celebi. I'm not sure if it's worth grading them though, they're likely between lightly and moderately played. Still, it's been fun to try and get back into collecting.
There’s a big market for PSA 1s, could be worth looking into.
Gotta say, the editing work that you put into your videos are leagues above what other Pokemon RUclipsrs are doing. You definitely deserve more views on these videos 👍🏼.
What an epic video. And my favorite set is 151. I completely master set this to include every single promo, and even the overseas pokemon together stamped promo’s
I really love black and white era with the full art EX cards and the shinies even though the pull rates aren’t good. Also love the platinum era, ex era, and XY era
Personally, I think some of the older cards look cooler than modern day art cards.
100%
I usually don’t like your videos but this is well put together. Good research and production quality, good work!
Thanks for clearing up the Charizard rookie card. Been in many debates about it over the years
Amazing video man. Explained so well. Really put me on an emotional train of nostalgia. Well done to you and the team.
The diamond and pearl/ platinum era is by FAR my favourite. I discovered what Pokémon was just as gen 4 released and I remember being absolutely obsessed with the cards. Any chance I had I’d ask for Pokémon cards haha. Rising rivals and supreme victors are my faves from that era for sure, but mysterious treasures is close behind :)
Love this type of informative videos about the history pokemon!
Made me feel old with that opening statement
I really enjoyed this video thank you all for the hard work you guys do 😊
This was such a fun watch, great work fam 👌🏻
I hated Base Set 2 so much as a kid, I had all the cards I collected separate from all my jungle, base set, fossil, team rocket, gym heroes and gym legends cards
Great video and definitely super awesome history I didn't know about early Japanese cards.
I'm going to be honest, this was such an amazing video. I was so surprised on how much research your team and you must have had to do on all of this. You should definitely have more subscribers on this channel then pokémon Go with this type of content😊
This was honestly a really well put together video! I think you talked about every single set except for Detective Pikachu and that really early on "set" that I don't remember the name of but it was like Island themed if I'm not mistaken and maybe was only in Japanese?
WOW, this is one of the best pokemon tcg videos I have ever seen. So much effort went into this video. respect !
Finally! I’ve been searching for a video like this for years
Thank you for all your hard work in putting this together! Just a brilliant video!
This is a great video!! Definitely highlights how pokemon has grown throughout the years
Would love to see another video like this about the card game itself! All the tournaments and championships, as well as the exclusive cards that came from it
Nice video! A lot of info. Good job guys. I didn't start back to collecting until sw&sh but I like the sun&moon era
Very cool also love deep pocket monster
I've hated Burning Shadows since I started collecting, not really sure why. I'm KICKING myself for not buying a ridiculous amount of Unbroken Bonds and Unified Minds during quarantine. They were SO POPULAR I thought I'd always be able to get them, and then like a month later they were impossible and WAY PAST my price range online, as they still are. I missed out on Team up by like 6 months and I'm beyond pissed I'll never be able to afford that and have the joy of opening a booster box!
Man this was incredibly well done
In 2020, you have to remember, you had reseller’s following the vendors around at each store, which is why you never saw anything after a couple minutes of a restock!
I just pulled my old shoebox of pokemon cards out of a closet at my mom's the other weekend. I have a bunch of stuff from 1999, lots of holographics.. it's been a fun and exciting time looking at their values as listed on ebay, making decks of old cards and playing the TCG again. I'm back, baby!
Thanks 4 the summary of the Pokémon history bro 👌🏻
Awesome video! Just a quick thing, alt arts were introduced in Team Up along side the Tag-Team cards. Keep up the great work!
Super awesome video. Thanks for putting this together. Great job
GREAT WORK! I've been subscribed for over 10 years. I'm impressed watching your content as if it was me in my teenage years wow 🙏🏽 Thank you bro
you forget the fact silver tempest also broke the mould in being the first time a base form got a full art
Thoroughly enjoyed this video!
Great video! Super informative
My young self opened a pack back in 2015 or 2016 and I got a primal groundon and it got water damaged so yeah that sucks for me
gotta go with pokemon 151 along with legendary collection for the reverse holos
Thanks for this I learned a lot from it. I am a new collector and had never seen or heard of some of theses packs.
This is fantastic
This was awesome!!!! Any set with Ampharos for me is the best!
Cool to look through the TCG history, not quite right about Battle Styles being the introduction of alt arts though. There were alternate arts in the tag team sets.
alt art V cards
@@hiph0p0p0tamus9That’s not what he said though. Also, yeah V cards started in Sword and Shield so it makes sense V alt arts would start there too.
We have Logan Paul to thank for scalpers.
How could you not mention detecive pikachu? That set is super important and iconic as it is still the only set to feature live-action pokemon.
question i see that in your thumbnail you seem to have a 5 by 4 card holder binder i would like to know which one it is if possible?
Seems like every card is Mystics' favorite card
I do be loving them all
No mention of the VS (versus series) only released in Japan in 2001. Would live to see you dive into that set.
Bro, I watch your videos all the time
One thing to note is that it was actually Dragons Exalted when the Dragon type was introduced.
Such a great video! Thanks a lot team Mystic🙌🏼💖
Great video, what a trip down memory lane... I remember buying base set packs with my weekly pocket money and trading at school with friends. Wish I had known how valuable they'd become and keep some sealed and treat my vintage cards better!
After gen 1 and beginning of gen 2 i was done getting cards, this is crazy how they kept making them but it got weireder and weirder.
The original cards were so nice and beautiful, not after that
My favourite eras are:
X&Y,sun and moon,sword and shield,scarlet and violet
But the no.1 is sword and shield and the favourite set is "team up" since it introduced tag team cards
It is so funny watching this and being like, hey I have that exact card. I started collecting during the Gen 4 days and I have so much nostalgia for those cards.
Amazing video really enjoyed it
We just pretending Power Keepers doesnt exist? 🤣
Cool rundown
Made my mom buy me a folder of Cards from a garage sale in like 2007 when I was a young boy. I had only played Gen 3 Emerald at that point so most of the Pokemon confused me(Mosely Gen 1&2 Mons) but owning it now it makes me happy even if i never used them
Miss the OG days🥲✔️
Definitely the base set I grew up with Pokémon from the beginning.
you missed Double Crisis from XY. Small subset that was super fun to collect and focused on team Magma and Aqua
What a great video, Thank you!
Anyone notice he forgot about XY DOUBLE CRISIS
You forgot one detective pikachu
Nice video! There are so many awesome sets and cards. Personally I’m most fond of the Ruby & Sapphire era and the Sword & Shield era (gallery & alt arts).
Diamond & Pearl and Black & White are probably my least favorite era’s.
Call of Legends is amazing though.
9:33 thats not true, delta species cards were first introduced in "ex delta species", many sets later
This was just amazing. Congrats 🙌
Nice video! I started collecting after the release of 151. Now I own 80-90% of the IR SIR Alt art haha. Missing the extremely expensive cards like Umbreon
favourite sets definetely all the wizard s sets. too many memories =)). Came back to pokemon just recently with paldean fates and i m enjoying so much! pulled the most insane pull of my life: 2 charizard ex from the same box (quaquaval EX box). it s so fun and love the community around of it
great video of Pokemon Knowledge and I am not even half way done
Pokemkn go was the set that go me seriously into completing sets😅
i was so happy when pokemon cards came to the united states. i would always ask my mom if i could buy a pack when i was a kid.
Fantastic vid Mystic
Great video!! Sun and Moon w/Shining legends as my favorite!! 🎉
I do like these types of videos that break up the same old/same old typical videos out today. Great editing! 💯
I really missed Fire Red - Leaf Green. One of the best sets of all time...
Bruhhh your content is next level!..
7:59 I’m so upset because one of my siblings got a hold of my shining mewtwo over summer visit and just a few years ago I saw this card trashed in my brothers room 🤦♂️ 😢
I like either the XY or Sun and Moon era the best. XY I like the Mega Exes and I think the breaks are overhated, Sun and Moon I like the rainbow rares and tag teams. For Sword and Shield it was hype but I personally wasnt too big of a fan of V's though I did like Vmaxes and I didn't really collect the Vstars since I stopped collecting cards at that point.
Amazing video bro! I collect Pokemon cards since 2000 and it has always been something special for me. This video of yours keeps motivating me to catch 'em all haha greetings from Spain!! 🎉🎉
Amazing video!
1:48 it's the alolen Exeggutor
@mysticrips what is your favorite sudowoodo card
Great video bro
I remember seeing someone with a binder of gen 2 pokemon before the games came out and was like wow
Awesome video
Watched this video thinking I would see and learn the history of the tcg game, rule changes and explanation of new type of cards as they were introduced (like supporters, ex cards etc.). Instead, it was just a list of which set had relevance based on how many rare charizard cards and shiny pokemon it had...
I would say Evolving Sky all eevelution alt art just love it. That’s it.
AMAZING VIDEO!!
I remember back in 01 I pulled a shining tryanitar and kabutop s didn't even know what I had I just call them a 3 star because it had 3 stars as the rarity 😂
Haha to go back to those times, it would be awesome.
what a good video! thank you!
How have you made this list ignoring the first Pokemon movie and all of the promo cards that came with it. It was huge!
I have a few really vintage ones and I wonder if they're worth anything
Great video!
I have loads of old cards how do I find out if they are worth anything thanks
Thanks for sharing !!!
Well, deep pocket monster was was talking about the very, very, very dangerous player of destroy cards
Amazing video my dawg
