Bulgur, chick peas, and sesame are my three favorite staple foods, so I can never have too many ideas for them. Thank you so much. My favorite breakfast is mixing 3 tablespoons bulgur, 3 tablespoons rolled oats, a little salt, and 1 cup of milk together. Refrigerate overnight. I eat it cold in summer and heat it up in winter. A little tahini on top doesn't hurt either.
I discovered you when I had a Turkish exchange student (in the U.S.). I came too LOVE bulgur, and I have tons of it. Thank you for showing some more creative ways to use it!! I love your whole crew!
We always learn so much by watching your video demonstrations. The cinematography and production value are always very high and we even look forward to the Amazon commercial embedded within! Much love to you and your entire team.
Hi Refika , i just cane back from Antalya Turkey. Had a wonderful time with my wife and daughter.😊. While staying in the hotel, i as a vegan was eating Bulgar rice every evening. Was very delicious. And the chef always changed the recipe. So now back at home 😟. And very much want to make the Bulgar salads. Lookes delicious 😋. Thanks
Hello. I’m a Mexican food enthusiast and when I discovered your channel I was thrilled. Thank you for share all this recipes. I cooked bulgur and it is delicious. Also, I tried the eggplant dish and now I add yogurt to my food. I really appreciate the cultural information in each video. It is so interesting your city. It is great to meet you and your food world. You have a new friend crossing the Atlantic. My best regards
Refika is just BRILLIANT! these recipes are great, easy and super tasty. Please Refika think about a new recipe book with these fast ideas of Turkish gastronomy! Seni cok seviyorum ;)
Thanks for bringing Turkish cuisine to my kitchen in South Africa, and for making videos with heart! I will try a version of this! I actually comment here to ask you a question. I found a recipe online that in all probability is Turkish, but it is called something like “When I have little time, I cook this”. Basically, it is a pancake batter, baked in the oven (where it beautifully blisters up), then cream cheese is spread on it, and chives are added. It is then rolled up and eaten like a Swiss roll. Can you tell me the name, and maybe make a video with your version?
Thank you Refika! Now in Ukraine is also tomato season, so I'l make it exactly as you have been suggested. P.S: we want obergines recepies from you! It's obergine time!
Salams I am from Pakistan. Really enjoy your videos. Chef Rafika can you guide to buy the best air fryer please. I saw you using a Philips Air fryer. But then you said that an air fryer should be free of all non stick material. So please let me know which air fryer should I buy. Please name more than one company as maybe not all companies are available in my country Waiting for your reply Thank you
If anyone looks for REAL bulghur, they should look for either Siyez Wheat Bulghur or Karakılçık Wheat Bulghur. Bulghur is a method in which whole wheat is boiled, cracked in mills and dried. Bulghur is a perfect ingredient. If you haven't, you're missing out so much.
I use ground lupin instead but you can't have an allergy to peanuts if you eat lupin. Ground lupin (Carrington Farm's brand) is like a fine bulgur in texture and cooks quickly like bulgur.
Both bulgur and couscous are made from wheat, so these whole grains are often mixed in. Couscous is obtained by sprinkling water from durum variety, semolina, and then the resulting particles are subjected to heat treatment. The grain is then dried. The technology is somewhat reminiscent of pasta production. Bulgur is similar in manufacture to a semi-finished product. Wheat grains are practically made ready with preserved seed and husk. The grains are then dried, usually in the sun. Bulgur is usually ground, but you can find both coarse and medium grinds. Usually this grain is cleaned of bran. Bulgur has more calories than couscous. In addition, it surpasses couscous in properties (for example, the amount of fiber in bulgur is 4 times more than in couscous).
Bulgur is just broken &peeled seed pieces. Couscous is made of refined / processed seeds(flour). Btw Turkish kuskus is different from what you buy in the EU or US markets. Especially the homemade one .
