To me the expensive gym just isn’t worth it at all. Maybe it’s because I’m into powerlifting and there’s only one squat rack and bench, no deadlift platform, no chalk and it doesn’t seem like the type of gym where you can grunt. But for people who want a fancy place to train that’s clean, quiet and modern, I can definitely see it being appealing. Different needs and wants I guess
Yeah i do like the look of the place its very slick, but theres really not much going on. theres nobody there (which is good or bad depending on the person) and theres no music. Theres just no vibe. Also yeah the rows and rows of unused treadmills but 0 DL platforms. Its a posh gym theres no way around it
Depends. Some times it's better to go all out on certain things like computers that'll last you for decades or even life if you take care of it or bikes. Most of the time mid-range is usually best.
The odd barbells are body pump bars, it’s a a Les Mills class. Absolutely love your videos Will, you’re the only channel I’ve been watching for weeks. I’m almost through all your stuff. 💜
I love watching your videos. I live in Japan right now and the gyms here are way too expensive for monthly payments like Gold's Gym being $100-$150 dollars which doesn't include the cost to register for a card ($40) or all inclusive access depending on whether you want to go in the day or the night. There are cheaper ones, but I prefer a membership kind of deal. Anyways! Great content like always, definitely not down for the $265/month gym with one bench rack. That's wild. And you look amazing!
Wow. I pay )10 bucks a month for a stacked gym in the United States. I always thought it was silly when people say it’s expensive to stay in shape I guess in some places that’s definitely true. Sorry you got to pay so much just to get a lift in that sucks.
Will, I appreciate these types of videos, as I myself would never have the desire to step foot in an expensive gym. But, It's nice to have this visual comparison of the types of options available. I would definitely pick the cheaper gym, it may need a repair or two, but overall looked pretty nice and tons of equipment and classes, by the way those weird looking bars you saw are for a class called Body Pump by Les Mills and those are the brand name Les Mills bars and plates. I've been lifting for 20 years at home. All you need is a pullup bar attached to a door frame, a set of adjustable weight dumbbells, a bench and a punching bag. I never understood people spending time driving to a gym, share everyone's equipment and then drive home. Working out at home saves a lot of time !
for $270 month (which is £240 over here) I'd expect a fantastic pool and spa facilities. Oh, and def. more than one bench in a space like that. They should have 3 or 4 of them. Seems more cardio oriented
I've seen a few of your most expensive vs cheapest gyms and compared to some of the other ones you've reviewed. This gym just doesn't match the price tag any more then paying $11 dollars a taco and $16 dollars for guacamole. Even a celebrity owned restaurant like Danny Trejos seems to have more reasonable prices for the the food he serves at his restaurants.
The 24 hour fitness where I live is amazing. It’s considered a middle tier gym and everything would be in place. I like it. And I’ll take almost anything over planet fitness any day. At the membership is definitely $36 a month.
Yeah the one he went to is boujee compared to the one I used to go. The 24 hour I used to go to was like a small dirty rathole lol. Will just couldn't bring himself to go to a bad neighborhood. He just had to stay in boujee Hollywood, haha.
I went to a 24 hour fitness in San Diego while on vacation, gym was two stories and had everything I needed. The manager let me train for free and I had a great chest day. Fr tho some of the equipment was broken, the ropes were so fringed, and everything was misplaced.
FYI 1:45 these can be helpful for individuals in wheelchairs or who have no/limited movement of their lower extremity so they can still get cardio in and build their upper body.
With those 24 hour gyms, the Google time for when theyre open refers to STAFFED hours. A gym near me had the same thing, but it was always open in the hours it said it was closed. There just wasnt any staff there
Awesome topic! I was traveling a fair amount pre-pandemic, and I really enjoyed looking for a gym with plates, barbells and racks so I can get through some squats or deadlifts - sometimes that's hard to find. Some of my favorite places were really inexpensive (shout out to The Colosseum Gym in Columbia MD - $10 guest pass, super nice and they had everything). Once I shelled out to go to a really fancy place - then they told me I couldn't deadlift in my socks... I'm pretty sure putting chalk on my hands would have caused an incident. So yeah, price is not the factor to go by for finding a good gym...
Oh, yeah, and the cheap gym you reviewed looks great. I almost never see a front supported row machine and that one looked pretty good. Seal rows are the bomb though...
Honestly wouldn’t pay $265/mo for a gym with only one bench and one rack, whether there’s a member limit or not😅

I've been lifting for 20 years at home. All you need is a pullup bar attached to a door frame, a set of adjustable weight dumbbells, a bench and a punching bag. I never understood people spending time driving to a gym, share everyone's equipment and then drive home. Working out at home saves a lot of time !
This is like the fourth time he’s done this but I still enjoy it.
for $270 month (which is £240 over here) I'd expect a fantastic pool and spa facilities. Oh, and def. more than one bench in a space like that. They should have 3 or 4 of them. Seems more cardio oriented
3 or 4? 30 or 40 for $270 lol
What’s slow down in Italian??? *Makes aggressive hand gestures* Slow down!!!!
Nailed it.
The 24 hour fitness where I live is amazing. It’s considered a middle tier gym and everything would be in place. I like it. And I’ll take almost anything over planet fitness any day. At the membership is definitely $36 a month.
i wasn't expecting a taco review.. but now, i think this should be the new standard
Love your content so much Will, keep it up!
i love how the cheapest gym is still like 25 times better than most of the gyms I've been
Yeah the one he went to is boujee compared to the one I used to go. The 24 hour I used to go to was like a small dirty rathole lol. Will just couldn't bring himself to go to a bad neighborhood. He just had to stay in boujee Hollywood, haha.
13:15 the foreshadowing of the mpx is crazy
That arm machine at 1:30 is at my gym in Albania and is mostly used by people in a wheelchair who can't do cardio otherwise.
Hey Will- that isn’t the most expensive gym here anymore. It’s Heimat on LaBrea. $350 per month.
24 hr gym looked so damn amazing... 10 on 10 for just 20$ !!!!!!
Hey will I want to thank you for giving me so much motivation for the gym! ♥️
Will I love your work ethic it's out of this world 🌎
This was a fun video. Makes me sad to write this but the worst reviewed gym was better than any Gym I have worked out in. Love the content !
The editor is so on fire lately 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you bruv
You earned it - Will, your chest is SOOO strong
