Hi Laura! I have used your instructions for this pillow cover many times. I made one today, used two different fabrics and it turned out so festive and bright!
Thank you, I used this technique to make a cover for hot compresses (aka water bottle). Where I can, place a wet wash cloth in microwave to heat up. Then into a PUL fabric pocket, finally into this flannel envelope pillow cover. Finally, place on my injured arm/ leg or back. To help me put warm compresses after my surgery and my three day drive back home. Thank you again, for the missing piece to enable me to continue my warm compresses during my drive home after my surgery.
Love this tutorial and have used it several times. The only thing I wish you could add is how to measure the pillow form so you know that your pillowcase will fit snuggly. Thanks, I love all your videos and have used many for making gifts. Just finished 6 of the quillow pattern for all my grandkids this year. Thanks
I just finished making my pillow. I made mine 21" x 9" and stitched a half inch in. This turned out nice for my back and was the perfect width for my driver's seat. I think I will make next one with a couple more inches in height. I ended up just stuffing mine with polyfill. These are really fun easy projects to help me get back into sewing more often.
I enjoyed your tutorial. To make any style of pillow, would you just add a 1/4" to the material? For example 18x18, cut your material 18 1/4x 18 1/4 or even 18 1/2?
I love your videos! I am going to make this Pillow back today. Please keep the videos coming. Wish I could spend a lot of time with you for you to teach me more about sewing. You are the best . Thank you
I just love your videos! I just made a pillow for my husband (just a small one for his recliner) and remembered your video on pillow backs. I just whipped it up, sew very easy! Thinking of doing the rest of my decorative pillows. ;)
I just spent hours looking for a way to make these for my granddaughters pillows. I didn’t like the flimsy backs on any of them. I know better, I should have just started with you!! (Of course, I wouldn’t have appreciated your video as much) it’s worth the extra fabric to make it look richer. Thank you again!
P. S. I made a bunch of tiny throw pillows for American Girl dolls for my granddaughter and her friends. They are nicer than store bought. Thank you so much . . . again!
I really like this! I want to make some satin pillowcases for my girls and I know there will be frequent washes. I have to make a note to try this method. Thanks for sharing!
I learned to sew and quilt with youtube videos. Before the internet people depended on in person classes and books, but having visual videos step by step instructions are amazing. You do such a great job on your tutorials and I really appreciate the quality and thought you put into each video. Keep it up!! I always go to your channel first to see if you have a tutorial on what I want to make.
Is there a formula you use to determine what size to cut your fabric for an existing pillow. I love your tutorials. Made your body pillow for my daughter over the weekend. Now I'm working on the fat quarter quilt blocks.
This is the best tutorial I've seen on this type pillow cover. :D I was just about to make some fall covers for my living area so these tips will definitely come in handy. Thanks!xoxoJanet
Thank You! Did an 18 X 18 & didn't add any extra & it worked but next one I will add the extra for the seam. Do I need a walking foot? My fabric seems to stretch, it's a little bigger or shorter than the other fabric.
When you measure the size of the pillow for the size of the fabric do you use the exact measurement? Only reason I ask is I tend to make it a half inch smaller so the pillow is a full tight fit. I love that material! Another great video!
What a great idea for a gift that "keeps on giving" when the giver of the initial pillow and cover send along another cover, say folded up in a simple large envelope for different seasons, the giftee's birthday, or "just because" (I had some extra fabric and wanted to share it). A quick solution for a present for almost any occasion - male or female.
Hi Laura how are you. Can you pl tell me how to prepare a pillow for a 4 year old child I would like to know the size, qty and quality of stuffing used, and what would be the size of the pillow cover and the quality of fabric to be use as I hv iv to gift it to her next week. Thanks Laura.i am planning to do a Mickey mouse applique also. So I hv to start now.
Best tutorial ever. Thanks
I love it! No velcro, no zipper, no gaps!
and quick and easy:) thanks for watching
Laura, your tutorial is wonderful, I made a baby pillow for my grandson 4 years ago and I made another one now to match the quilts I just made him.
My 13 year old daughter just made this by following the directions in this video and I'm soo proud of her. This video was really really helpful.
Hi Laura! I have used your instructions for this pillow cover many times. I made one today, used two different fabrics and it turned out so festive and bright!
Cut the fabric the same size as the pillow form for a good fit worked best for me.
Thanks, I was wondering about that. 🌺🌸
No guessing on the size to cut your fabric. Thank you so much.
Easiest method I have seen. Thank You!
Thank you,

This is a very nice tutorial. Pretty fabric. I used a clear snap for the back so it wouldn’t slip open
Laura you are such an excellent teacher. I always look to your tutorials first. We’re lucky to have you!

Thank you so much for this. It is exactly what I had in mind to make for my husband.
my pillow is 12" x 22" do you use those exact measurements with fabric to fit pillow?
Love that fabric, I want some!
Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna make one for my mother-in-law .she needs one to put behind her back in her recliner.

I really like this! I want to make some satin pillowcases for my girls and I know there will be frequent washes. I have to make a note to try this method. Thanks for sharing!

No, not that I know of. But I will put it on my list of videos to do:) thank you
@@SewVeryEasy Hi Did you ever post the formula. I am trying to make a cover for a pillow insert that is 36 inches wide and 28.5 inches tall.
Brilliant!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
thanks for watching
Great help. Thank you
great way for your cushion covers as well
yes thanks for commenting
Have you ever made a stay put pillow for a recliner or can suggest how to make one?
This is the best tutorial I've seen on this type pillow cover. :D I was just about to make some fall covers for my living area so these tips will definitely come in handy. Thanks!xoxoJanet
glad I was on time :) thank you
I love it. Thanks for sharing! It is very expensive to buy a pillow back in Hong Kong.

Laura thank you very much 🙏👏👏👏❤️
Thank you so much!!! Exactly what I was looking for!!!
Very nice I think even I can do it!! Thank you!
I know you can!:)
I love that idea, I can't believe I haven't seen it before.
glad you liked it:)
Love it! Thank you
I really love it thank you very much.
Great tutorial. This method is new to me but I will be trying it now. It's a pity the measurement was not mentioned.
Hi Laura. I would like to know that when we are using the second fabric which is double folded doesn't it become thick on one side.
Molto bello! Ideale per un regalo! ♥
thanks you:)
I want to add a cloth back to a croched pillow front. This is just what I want to do but have never sewn cloth to crochet. Any suggestions?
Love the simplicity!! Can I do the same method for an 18 X 18 pillow? Also would I add extra for the seam? half inch? Thank You
yes :)
Thank You! Did an 18 X 18 & didn't add any extra & it worked but next one I will add the extra for the seam. Do I need a walking foot? My fabric seems to stretch, it's a little bigger or shorter than the other fabric.
I'm new to sewing so please clarify, when you say "no sew method" you mean the case is not stitched to the pillow, hence removable?
When you measure the size of the pillow for the size of the fabric do you use the exact measurement? Only reason I ask is I tend to make it a half inch smaller so the pillow is a full tight fit. I love that material! Another great video!
You can do it both ways!
I love it love it love it thank you xxx

Hi Laura, would this work for a very small say 5x5 piece?
Excellent! Thank you SO much!! :)

What size do you cut the 3 pieces of fabric in relation to the size of your pillow? Advice please & thank you in advance.
I like to cut the fabric the same size as the pillow form
@@SewVeryEasy Thanks you for your prompt reply and ALL you share with us!
If my pillow is 18 x 18, what should my fabric measure as I cut it out?
I like to make them the same size, just add your seam allowance:)
@@SewVeryEasy Thank you!
Oh dear. Why was I thinking the fabric cut had to be 2” larger than the pillow!!?? (ex: 12” x 12” pillow needed 14” x 14” fabric pieces) 🤦🏻♀️
@@cynthiaclark7575 Me too??
What are the dimensions of the pillow?
Thank you so much.
Thanks a lot! 🌸🌸
very good thanks
Awesome!!!
