    Thank you,
I used this technique to make a cover for hot compresses (aka water bottle).
Where I can, place a wet wash cloth in microwave to heat up. Then into a PUL fabric pocket, finally into this flannel envelope pillow cover. Finally, place on my injured arm/ leg or back. To help me put warm compresses after my surgery and my three day drive back home.
Thank you again, for the missing piece to enable me to continue my warm compresses during my drive home after my surgery.

I just finished making my pillow. I made mine 21" x 9" and stitched a half inch in. This turned out nice for my back and was the perfect width for my driver's seat. I think I will make next one with a couple more inches in height. I ended up just stuffing mine with polyfill. These are really fun easy projects to help me get back into sewing more often.

I enjoyed your tutorial. To make any style of pillow, would you just add a 1/4" to the material? For example 18x18, cut your material 18 1/4x 18 1/4 or even 18 1/2?

What a great idea for a gift that "keeps on giving" when the giver of the initial pillow and cover send along another cover, say folded up in a simple large envelope for different seasons, the giftee's birthday, or "just because" (I had some extra fabric and wanted to share it). A quick solution for a present for almost any occasion - male or female.
