Hi Laura! One of the reasons I appreciate your videos and books so much is that you select timeless items to create. This tutorial is 9yrs old (at the time I’m commenting) yet you could have made it a few hours ago. Your consistency is top tier. Thank you for your dedication to producing high quality videos. Whenever I need a clear explanation of a technique, I check your channel first. ❤❤❤
Hello Laura! I'm a fourteen years old who loves sewing. I made this bag for my brother who plays guitar he uses it to store his pics and his guitar tuner. Thanks for the easy pattern!
Another great sewing tutorial! My 8th grade sewing teacher would be amazed! The dress I made was so bad, that I was the only one that didn't have to wear it to school! (Thank goodness I aced cooking! Lol). You have taught me so much. I'm upgrading to a fancier sewing machine soon!
OMG!!! Why didn't I look here first! My daughter wanted one of these and iI searched all over and they were all imported! I did not want to go that route. TA DA!!! here they are and as simple as can be! Thank you Laura! You will always be my favorite go to gal!
as a sewer who struggles to follow patterns. i can follow you so easy without confusion. i am brain injured plus dislexia and irlings syndrome now i follow your simple ways to sew and look professional thank you so much.. a diamond shinning brightly over the confusion.
Ohhh my gosh!! As a brand new, teaching myself sewer, I have found your instructions soo easy to follow and I have already made two of these. I just love how easy, quick and, unbelievably cute these are!! What a great little bag for traveling or anything else. Thank you so much for sharing your instructions!!
I have made at least 8 and it’s second nature now! I love them for knitting projects 😁 I also made one for each of my young granddaughters and they thought it was the best gift ever! 💕🥰 Thank you so much❣️
I have been watching you a while as you know. As I come across yet another tutorial and over the years you have never changed! THANK YOU! You explain so well and also show your caring ways.
I’ve made at least 6 of your easy scrub caps. Then as I was viewing your other tutorials I came across this one. It starts out the same way as the scrub cap! I’m cheering inside “yay! I can do this!” Thank you for building my skills and confidence as a sewist. You are an awesome teacher. 👏🏼
I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. That tip about ironing on the seam when turning it right side out was so great! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that before! Thank you!
I received one of these as a gift and loved it, so when I started sewing searched for a tutorial to make one - this is definitely the best !. Thank you so much.
This is the easiest pattern I have ever used. I previewed several RUclips videos from different people before I chose this one. I taught it a few years ago at one of my local quilt groups and I’m teaching it again next month at another quilt group.
A great practical cute gift idea and a usesful bag for myself when need a smaller the pockets are a great idea love this addition that does not take away from bag design great love it!!!!!!!
Made my 1st one today! Super easy & so cute! These r great for when u don't want to lug u r big purse around & the pull ribbon slips right over u hand for keeping it secured in u r possession. U r tutorials r so easy to follow & u r explanations r very clear. Anyone could sew following u r tutorials!
just seeing this video! My sister sent to me through Pinterest. AI LOVE THESE !! Easy peasy too! I added a small button on each side at the front where the flaps meet near the center. Merely for decorations! Thank you for this gift bag 'recipe'!
Very cute and easy to make for a beginner like myself. I made one to match my Renaissance dress and it looks amazing!Your instructions are very easy to follow. Thanks for sharing!
One of the best tutorials I have watched, really great ideas. Using the iron to flatted out the seams is a great idea and gives a more professional look. Thanks so much for your time!
This tutorial is excellent. You are a great teacher. I have been sewing a long time, and I think these are so well done, and you make them look so easy. I will make at least a few of them. Thank you for this great idea.
Love this bag Laura. Am very slow to grasp things though, so will be watching again another time. I need to try more things ! Not done much sewing for many years, a little rusty doesn't cover it ! Thankyou for sharing.
Thanks for a great tutorial to make this drawstring bag. I whipped up two this afternoon. They turned out great. I'll be proud to give as gifts. Keep up the great how-to videos.
Huh so cute and yet so quick and easy - really think I might be able to do this...in like 4x as long as it took you but if it comes out half as good I will be super happy - thank you!!!
I really enjoy your tutorials! Thank you for sharing them. Also, I like that you are not trying to sell products. All the tutorials I have subscribed to eventually start selling stuff or doing projects for which you need special tools (that, of course, they sell...). Again, thank you!
They are cute, neat, very easy, helps to use up those squares, makes nice bags great gift idea project, the best part I like is you only used two pieces of material and ribbon strips!!!!
This was such a fun project I am very new to sewing, thank you for the easy directions, I love the pockets and how finished and nice this looks! I made my first bad and will give it to my 2 yr old granddaughter it's a perfect size for her to carry all her lil toys in 😊
I absolutely love this tutorial & the results! I have completed 2 with 4 that I will probably complete tomorrow for gifts for baby shower games! Thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial!
New at sewing, just made this bag, its not perfect didn't quite sew it straight, but with practice I will improve. Easy to follow instructions for a novice like me. Thank you.
i can't wait to make these and use them for my knitting projects, i am going to try and make different sizes. thanks for your easy video. i'm guessing the square measurements need to be equal all around.
Just found your channel and I love your videos! Very concise with very good instructions. I’m working on this bag now. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
This past weekend I saw one of the Members in the Spinning Guild I belong to with a bag like this she had made and forwarded the link to me. This is such a darling bag, Laura. I have tons of fabric than I know what to do with. Making these will be fun to give out as gifts exchanges.
this is the cutest drawstring bag tutorial I've seen. I'm a brand new sewer (along with my young daughters) and I feel like this is a project we could all do! I'm a little confused on the pulling the ribbon through part but I think when I try to construct it I'll understand. Thanks so much.
shewritesbooks Thanks for watching, and when you get there if it doesn't make sense let me know and I will walk you through it:D This will be a fun sewing day for the both of you
My ADD/Dyslexic brain just said I would be using my seam ripper as much as the sewing machine. The fat quarters in the room went "Oh my gosh that is sew cute". Wait, so, sew, sow ...... Challenge accepted! Between you voice and instructions, my brain just loves you!!
This is great! Just finished my first...but because I kept getting interrupted I missed sewing the line straight through the Center! So now my pockets are flapping around loose. Going to turn wrong-side out and try and sew that line somehow.....but hey, I guess it’s true we learn more through our mistakes! Next time, I really need to jot basic instructions down first. Thx for your video! 😊
This is definitely one of the best videos and so easy to follow. I have a question though, is it possible to make a larger bag and how would one determine the size of the material needed? I would really appreciate if anyone could answer this. Thank you
These bags are so sweet! But I had big problems after boxing the ends, trying to turn the bag right side out and getting it right for the bottom corners so think I'll have to take the boxing stitches out.
