Love this video! I made 16 gift bags for our 2 grandchildren allowing them one to open on each night of Hanukkah.
What a lovely idea
Thats awesome and great idea
Nice!
How long it took you to finish all 16 bags ?
@@vass5024 - I sewed them over about a week ago- an hour here and there.
The helper come after the work done! Luckily to cute to fired!
What an adorable kitty! I love that he’s right there with you. So sweet.
These would be great filled with Valentine's Day goodies!
Very cute and simply adored your kitty for all the help he rendered . Thank you
Thank you. I’m gonna make some little ice packet bags to hold the ice packs at the hospital . I’m using the hospital gowns that have ripped and are called rejects . Sometimes the laundry sends them back with a knot that just won’t quit . I think it’ll be cute to make the Icepak bag cover to protect the patients skin. ❤
I've watched a few tutorials for little bags, as each Christmas I find I've forgotten the instructions from last year. Your tutorial was beautifully taught. Thank you.
January 27 2024: This is going to be a fun project to share with my teen grandchildren that live with me. I figure while they are sitting helping we could have memoriable conversations. My Mom uses to do so many hand sewing and at her feet were us children. We just need to take a break from electronics and I do believe my two grandchildren that live with me will enjoy it. I will have them pick materials for bags for Advent and birthday’s. I have three grandchildren ages 20, 16 and ! I am a Retiree from the US Army and embracing my life right now. I returned from war and sewing to knitting was my special time with faith.
I have a friend who has a retirement party coming up and I'm going to make her a Retirement Survival Kit with different items in it. However, I couldn't think of what to put it all in and this is a perfect bag with a liner and a draw string to put all her little items in. Thank you so much. It will be so cute. Appreciate your video.
Jack is so precious. Love these cute bags
I love Jax's appearance & your willingness to be vulnerable by showing bloopers at the end. Thank you!
OK, I've made a few bags in different sizes, using your instructions, which are the best I've seen for making fabric gift bags. I have several cut out and ready to sew, They are addictive to make.
Wonderful!
Well, they take me longer than 5 minutes to make but I absolutely love them!! And they’re cheaper than any gift bag you buy in the store!! I just keep making them!!
Thank you for this video. I made three gift bags using your method and they came out so cute. I wish I could post a photo.
I hope my dice baggie works out, i'm following ur lovely tutorial
I want to say thank you. Made 3 different sizes just adding 5 inches to the width and 10.5 inches to the length and have come out quite well. Never made anything drawstring before and you explained it really well. Wanted to show a photo of what I'd done but not able to add it to the comments
Well, you were excellent, very clear and thorough and I loved the bags. Have to say though that Jax stole the show - not to mention the twine 😂
Cute little bags! Much easier way than what I have done. I did put a small bell on the ends of the twine.
Love the ending. Showing the “real”things that happens give such a laugh to help any stress of the day! Thanks for the reality of life!
Aww Mom, Jax wants to play. Thanks for teaching me how,to make my new little bags, for my jewelry customers. I'll put the jewelry I make in them.
Your fan Jenny.
Best. Bag. Ever. I was searching through so many drawstring bag videos as I’m awful at them. Used this to make a bigger bag for a gift and it turned out better than any I’ve ever done. I added a squared off bottom so easily too after sewing the top stitch.
Used this tutorial to help finish making santa sacks from hessian and an old african dress, very helpful.
I love the tutorial and I love the out takes at the end… you’re a “real person” and not too concerned about being “too polished!” ❤️
Really good video Thank you love Kitty
I've made a few of these bags and they're great! Your directions are easy to follow. Took me more than 5 mins, but I'm a slow worker.
brilliant, love the way you just got on with it instead of yakety yak like others
I made these super cute bags in January of this year for next christmas. I'll have all year to pick up little things to fill them with!
Great video! I've watched several videos on how to make drawstring bags, and this one is the best. My sister asked me to make her bread bags, so I'll adapt for that. Thanks for the great content!
It's so cute watching Jax in your videos sticking his head in the shots and playing around with your stuff🤩
Thelma writes: Erica, not only that I love your videos tutorials but I also love the fact that you allow Jax to join in, I think he makes the video-ing even more complete, does everyone agree? He is as lovely as the whole 👪
I love your ‘helper’. I too have a helper/supervisor. Always fun working around a cat. 😊👍🏼❤️
Adorable! Love Jax! He's a beauty and clearly a smart kitty
Thanks for the great tutorial Erica! My husband had game tokens he needed a bag for. As soon as I came to YT to search, I hoped I’d find a tutorial from you - lucky me! Your instructions were straightforward and my bag turned out great. Definitely took me more than 5-10 min, but I’ve been away from my machine for many weeks, so I had to get back in the groove.
Jax "makes" your videos .... Love it!
Great video. Little bags are adorable. Jax at the end with the string is hilarious. Love the out takes. So cute.
Love your cat watching you create! Nice and easy bag!
Jax is the best part of all your videos. He is a little ham. I love it. ❤
I came across some fabric sample books last year, tons of random fabric squares. These would make great gift card bags and some gift card holders are like five dollars. I could just make them and probably get a couple dollars. Great idea, thank you.
Super useful, thank you. I made one yesterday - the double-drawstring is much easier than one and pulled up really easily.
Loved this video! Making 10 bags for gifts I’m taking on a lake trip with gals I grew up with! So happy with them 💖
See your cat is as obedient as mine! Great and inspirational video.
Also, love your bloopers and Jax's antics!
You’re like sunshine! You’re videos made me smile!!
Hello kitty! 😺
Great idea! I am going to do this for next year! We play a game with small gifts but the bags should all be the same! We won't have to buy bags every year! This will be so cool! My sister is going to love it! I have the fabric will just need lining fabric. Infact I have plenty of ribbon too! Thank you so much for sharing!
I’ll probably just use a coordinating fabric for liner so I won’t have to buy anything. Just an idea. Hope that works for you too. Maybe a plaid or stripe. 🤔🤷♀️
`What game do you play? Looking for ideas!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Exactly what I was looking for. I’ve made two already, one is a little bigger, and the dimensions for the drawstring were exactly the same and were perfect. This is so cute.
Love the Supervisor xx
These are so quick and easy to make, a great scrap buster, I will be making a few more (a lot more).
Thank You for sharing Your Time, and Your Talent with all of us.
I just love your kitty and how he was following your hands and the string while you were putting the drawstring in!!
I just made about my 20th mini bag & I just love how easy it is. I was wondering if you’ve ever done a tutorial for a denim purse or tote bag? I could use some ideas on attaching different straps & also various type closures. Your upbeat attitude is also very conducive to following along on your tutorials. Keep up the good work!!😊
Not yet!
Your kitty is so cute, paying attention, too!
Bags are so cute ty
Great detailed tutorial for a beginner like me. Of course 5 to 10 minutes, ha. Took me almost an hour but I have 9 more to do so I’m sure I’ll be able to get that time down. At 75yo just don’t move that fast anymore probably should have taken up sewing 55 year’s ago, lol but never too late.
Love your outtakes!!
This is exactly the kind of project I'd like to do... especially since I need dice bags!
Easy Peasy, much thanks. I’ve got eight cut out and ready to sew. It’s a great idea especially since we’re still in the pandemic and love to give little gifts.
Thanks Erica for taking the time to make this tutorial and sharing with us.
These little bags are perfect for last minute gifts . I think Jax needs a gift bag filled with kitty treats 🥰
I love it
Just found your channel, absolutely love all your sewing videos for someone who is a beginner , and I am you explained things so well .❤
Love love love your videos and your cat
I love your feline helper. Great video. So much easier than others I’ve watched. You have beautiful hands btw!
I absolutely love love love this tutorial
Thank you for such an achievable project. Great instructions, and love your cat.
Love the tutorial. The bags are adorable and perfect for many things. Thank you so much. Jan
Those are adorable. I wish i seen this earlier cuz I could of made theses for our grandson for preschool for Christmas for his classmates. Next year ty for sharing
Nice bag. I liked your outtakes as well!
Cute bags and a great idea for an advent project. Jax is too cute.
love your tutorials and Jax
Great step by step tutorial. I made one before, but it took a lot longer without a tutorial. I like that your bag is fully lined. I think it will be a good idea to have several sizes to use as gift bags around Christmas time. I also generally give a pack of 10 handmade cards as gifts, so I’ve sized my bag to fit them. They are reusable packaging. Thanks!
I am going to make some tomorrow. And love seeing your cat in the videos...cute.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was able to make little treasure bags for all my grands for Christmas 2022! I am trying to type up directions, so I'll remember what I did! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks for the lesson. Easy to follow. Jax made the day too!
Thanks for sharing this video. These would be very handy . I. Also thinking in a larger size for marble bags. 👍🏻🙏💜
They are so cute!!!
I love your cat wanting to help! I got such a kick watching kitty! Thank you for sharing! I love these little bags!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for this great tutorial! I've been wanting to make a drawstring bag to my laundry quarters in to keep in our Motorhome. This was perfect!
Adorable bags.
Great, easy-to-follow instructions. These lined bags are beautiful and --- surprisingly---way easier to make than the unlined ones I've been sewing for years! Once I remembered some 8th grade math, it was easy to translate the exact proportions to larger sizes.
Thank you for this tutorial. I’ve been using fabric to make bags for our Christmas gifts for years now, but they are big and not lined. These little cuties are perfect for a smaller gift. The finished size of my bags are 8x10”. Perfect for a jewelry gift. Merry Christmas!
I Love your easy little Treat Bags. Thank you for the Tutorial.
LOVE your Kitty!!
He says that String is his.
I love a clear and concise tutorial like this one! Thank you!!
Oh how I love the kitty visits!! Talk about squishy. I just love it!!!
Love your sewing helper.
I found this video a while back and FINALLY just made my first one. PERFECT tutorial! So helpful step by step. Thank you!
Awe…Kitty Cat Jax…sew cute!!! Love the bags too! Thanks for the tutorial!!
I enjoyed your watching your video and did the size you made for my daughter’s wedding… and I’m making another one as pouch bag for my other daughter to put in her cellphone and other small things like lipstick 💄 etc… so easy and was explained so clearly. Thanks so much for sharing it 😊🥰❤️
I made a beautiful little bag for my granddaughter, the bride, using extra fabric from her gown.
Great project and fast! Your cat stole the show. So funny!
I love your point turning tool and marker 😍
I love these! I hope after she has opened them you share with us what you put in them. I love the idea! Jax always makes me smile. I have two helpful kitties and they definitely keep things interesting!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I made one tonight, only my third sewing project and it was surprisingly easy with your step-by-step directions!
Another great video! I love your channel and I adore beautiful Jax! Thank you for not making him move or editing him out - seeing him was a treat.
Kitty seems so fascinated 🤣🤣 cute
Thanks. Very clearly demonstrated
I just love this video❤ it's so beginner friendly and I love how slow it was, so that you can watch each step closely❤️ thank you so much❤️❤️
Perfect ! Just what I need to make some gift bags. Thank you !!!
Cute! Thanks for sharing...I plan to try these out soon. You kitty is so cute!
Wow! Excellent tutorial! I need to make a drawstring bag for our futon. Working on it today! Thanks a ton.
You had me at "5 Minute..."!
Thank you for keeping it simple. I actually did it. 😎👍
Glad it helped!
Will be making some for sure.
These are so cute. I made twenty one but it took me about 30 minutes per bag. Thank you for sharing your tutorial.
Thank you so much for sharing this fabulous tutorial. It is just what I needed for my lavender sachets with a little embroidery on the front and a lavender ribbon. I love the way you do this!!!
