No more searching for boxes or paper bags that fit. You made it so easy. Really appreciate how calm your voice is and your clear instructions. Thanks Jan
Perfect Instructions! It bothered me that the holes weren't reinforced in other videos I watched, glad to find your video and now I know how to sew those raw ends for the cord track.
Thank you Jan. I've always hated to through away all the wrapping paper at Christmas, after all the presents are unwrapped. Just think of all the tree's that will be saved. I'll be giving birthday presents, Anniversary, Easter, and many other presents, to people in these nice bags from now on. 🎁
I would add the wonder under embellishment on the panel before sewing it together.... then do a contrasting zigzag stitch all around it just to add a little something extra. Such a cute bag!
I love your tutorials. ❤ You way of talking is articulate and pleasant. I really appreciate that you don't over share at the beginning and you let us get right into the promised content. I don't really need to know that your dogs are at the vet, granny's in the nursing home, and your kids are flunking algebra. Unless it's part of the project, like making a wheelchair caddy for granny in the nursing home. You get the idea. Btw, do you have a tutorial for a wheelchair caddy? I've watched several, none of which I was thrilled with, and ended up designing my own. Which I was also not thrilled with. 😅 Thank you for all your tutorials. I have learned a lot and I feel richer for having you in my life experience.
Cute, simple, and minimal fabric required since they are unlined bags. I like the sort-of-buttonhole method you used for the tie openings, haven't seen that before!
I love watching all your videos, I have been binge watching them all. Thank you. I’m about to dust off my sawing machine and start making some of the bags for Christmas and birthday. Keep up the great work. God bless you 💜
Great tutorial! You can make this size bag with a fat quarter, right? Haven't used Wonder Under in ages. Would love a tutorial! I already purchased Christmas gifts for my oldest granddaughter. They're awkward to wrap, so I think I'll make bags instead!
I just followed this tutorial to make a bread bag. Very nice. I'm impressed with the little extra finishing details and with the way the bag ties. Thank you!
This is a wonderful tutorial, thank you! I saw one the other day that was lined and I am not sure that's needed for a gift bag, plus it seemed to be a lot of extra work. This one is so much simpler. My mother in law sent me a gift in a fabric bag last Christmas and it felt so great to be able to reuse it for the family member whose name I got in this year's gift swap. A great feeling to be able to reduce and reuse instead of recycle!
What is the math for making a specific size? I love the way you did this bag! Having difficulty finding info on what size to cut fabric for specific bag sizes with the cinched closures. Thank you!
ruclips.net/video/SQCahVRigkc/видео.htmlsi=x9cJ1sCJT6PijZ5B&t=740 I use wonderunder. Trace your design onto the wonderunder and then cut it out. Remove the paper and iron it onto your project. I will be doing a whole tutorial on wonder under real soon.

Btw, I want to use French seams. Do you think that'll work with the casing opening method in this tutorial? I'm going to try it.
You are so kind! French seams would be great. Let me know how it goes.
Great, fun tutorial, Jan, with lots of uses. I haven’t heard of wonder under, so that would be interesting.♥️
Thanks so much! Stay tuned for that video.

Here is the blogpost link that has all that information. youmakeitsimple.com/2022/11/21/how-to-make-a-fabric-bag-beginner-sewing-tutorial/
Great
Thanks
What are your tips for smaller bags?
.
Sorry I missed this when it first came out. I'll do a better job of following you. I love these bags. And I'm not very excited about paper wrapping.
Thank you
How do I order a printed copy of these instructions??
I'm sorry, I don't have a pattern for them at the time. I will put that on my list.

I'm sorry, but what is emish?
Interested in wonder under
You got it.
I would rather make a gift bag than use wrapping paper that will be thrown away. Another option to reuse and recycle ♻️
Yes, a great way to recycle
🥰
😉
