Just a simple tip. After you turn it, You can sew a small X in the middle , making sure to catch each fabric, it keeps the fabric in place. Use tends to shift them otherwise, and keeps it from catching stuff inside.
Scrap potholders took me MUCH more TIME. With a healed once, broken wrist,
so now I opt for larger fabric, even if recycled. This is attractive, quick, giftable,
and the turning so fast is the sewists treat. ***Thanks!***
Laura, I love these, I’ve always made pot holder using binding. These are so much easier!!! Thank you for sharing! 💜
These are SUPER cute!! I love to make things like these for hostess gifts, etc, and this is the perfect project to use up some leftover 10” squares I have laying around. Thanks again Laura!
Thank you for this tutorial. Tried this today and my potholders came out so cute. Love all your tutorials. Keep up the good work🌷
Thank you so much. I watched a video by someone else doing this and it was good but you are great at step by step instructions. I’ve already saved this in my library. I love the second one with squares . I’ll be making it next. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I made these for Christmas gifts with beautiful Christmas fabric....they were so elegant and professional looking and very appreciated. Thank you! I love all your tutorials. Anytime I see a sewing project turorial that catches my eye, I always search to see if you have already done one! Thank You, again.
With autumn just around the corner here in Kansas I'm starting to think about baking again, and well - - I need new hot pads. I had saved this video in my You Tube library and am glad I did. Your instructions are the best out there and the photography is excellent. I just made the first one trying a double layer of Insul-Brite. It's a bit tricky sewing through that many layers but affords more heat resistance at the oven. Thanks again for an easy but very useful and quick project!
This is it, Laura. Just what I want to made for my friends for Christmas. I just bought a variety of fabrics on sale with the intention of making hot pads for everyone this year. Was going to do something else with the fabrics but I think I will made these. I'm going to go and start into it straight away. Thank you.
Thank you for this hot pad tutorial. I made a set just to see how easy and they turned out nice. So easy that I am tackling 22 for Christmas gifts. Looking forward to watching more videos.
Thank you Laura. I love your tutorials. My sister in law requested potholders for her birthday. I wanted to make them special. Your video for these lovely potholders is just what I needed. Wonderful. Thanks again. I always am confident trying whatever you teach. :-) See you on the next great tutorial.
The potholders are a great gift. I enjoyed making them. Thank you for sharing.
My MIL gave me pot holders just like these, I absolutely LOVED them & now that my children are a little older & I have time to sew, I am excited to make some for teachers as Christmas gifts!!!! Thank you so much;)
shrink it down to about 4-5" and it makes a nice reversable mug/wine glass rug, just twist the base of the glass into the folds
I love these, they are cute, quick and easy to make, the added bonus is that the double sided eliminates the extra fuzz that adds up quickly when only one side of the base is covered... Absolutely love these... Thank you !!!
What a FUN pot holder to make. Love the fact you don't have to bind them. Thanks so much.
Joy
glad you like them:)
Saw this years ago and thought about Christmas coming. This is a project I can handle for some quick gifts. Caught you while trolling the lists of tutorials. Good to see you and thanks for all the projects that you have shared over the years.
I’m looking at your tutorial again and I wouldn’t have thought of using a cotton thread and for a hot pad, it’s very important. Thanks! 🌸🌺
Your blouse is just beautiful, Laura. Thank you for this very quick pattern. 😊
These are fantastic! I've bee searching for quick but beautiful Christmas gifts to give my co-workers and these are perfect...thank you for the great tutorial!
Love both versions and watching your tutorials and then sewing the items as I learn from you is truly making the 'shielding' at home due to the coronovirus much easier for me here in Northern Ireland so thank you Laura. May God bless and keep you safe love Vera.
Thank you Laura, I had lost my pattern to this and you had it. I'm happy :) Just love your video's!
Loved pot holder tutorial and can't wait to try and see other videos from you! Thank you!!
Laura, another great video! Thank you for sharing. I've started making smaller versions (five inch squares) of this for coasters. It works beautifully and makes wonderful gifts. I love that it's quick, easy, and I can give a handmade gift in no time. Thank you again.
+Copper Buttons How fun, you can make a matching set. Thanks for sharing
This pattern idea also did indeed work for small microwave
mini-potholders as viewed on Y.Tube. I learned best from this video!
Love the idea that you don't have to hand sew anything. They're gorgeous!

thank you so much for the tutorial, for someone on a budget these will make great Christmas gifts.
What an easy way to make hot pads...I love it! I've made several, but I did it the way my mom did with binding around the edge. This is so much easier, and I love that they look pieced when finished. Thanks for this very much!
Susan Norwood Your welcome! glad you enjoyed the video
Thank you so much for sharing this, you were very clear with the directions. :) I struggle a lot with edging on potholders and can never make them look nice so I will give this a try.
Just amazing Laura! And NO binding!!! I'm in love! Thank you ps...also love your blouse!
thanks

Love your tutorials simple and carefully explained
Several years ago I was given a mug rug using this technique and I have been trying to find a pattern for it since. This is perfect, I will use a smaller size cut. Thank you!!
have fun!
Made these and turned out great...thanks for nice easy pattern
Thank you really like these, great for my Christmas gift all of things used in the kitchen.
+Deb Haack ...and you can use up little pieces of fabric too:) thanks for watching
Thank you for your time. 🙏 I made some square ones few years ago. But I don't know how I thought that it could be ok using circles. Well, I just did it today, I made two of them. It took me extra effort because I used the wrong fabric! I used the legs from a pair of thick denim jeans 🫣 for inside and outside of the pot holder, plus too many layers to sew. 🧵 It was a way to learn 🤷. Thanks again. 🙏
Hi Laura I am From Lisbon Portugal and this is my first attempt to quilt Your tutorials are bright and easy to understand. After, I will try to make the hang door pockets.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks and welcome:)

+Cheryl McCuistion Thanks Cheryl and thanks for watching:)
Very cute. When I get ready I will have to watch this again to make sure I put the top pieces in the right order. Thank you for sharing. Looks easier than using binding which I used last time. Did not like to use it.
thanks and thanks for watching
This is a great technique!! I have not ever seen insul bright being used by itself. There is usually an additional square of regular batting included in the sandwich. Love your choice of fabrics. I usually making mine out of old scraps. They aren't as pretty as these. Love this no binding!!
+Linda Bridges Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching:)
Lady, you ROCK! How wonderful! Thank you for such a great, easy project!

Great tutorial...easy to follow and you made it very enjoyable to make.
such pretty color combo!!! and info is so hgelpful as i made small coasters using nylon thread which is OK but for hot pads, nylon will melt in high heat.
Happy New Year from Ontario, Canada! I am enjoying watching all your wonderful videos.
I love these & you make it look so easy. Ive make one & messed up. But will continue to try again.. Thank you so much for the precise instructions.
+Elaine Davidson We all mess up at times, even me! Try to hand baste it first, then turn it right side out. If it is good go back and stitch it down, if not, it is all lot easier to take apart this way. I do this a lot when I'm trying something new:) thanks for watching
Wow! I love them! Thanks a lot! 🌸🌸
Thank you so much for such a step by step and easy tutorial !!
