You have to appreciate Elon for being able to pioneer an ev that is fun and exciting and just spear-heading and paving the road for other ev makers. I am neither a Tesla owner or a Tesla fan but competition makes for better EVs for all of us. I am just a car enthusiast. Every car will have defects as long as the defect doesn’t kill you 😂 Elon is quirky and eccentric… I still can’t say his kid’s name🤣 always appreciate your videos!

On the crazy right, people hate Elon Musk for exactly what the fans love him for, creating a market for EVs. I give him credit for that. People hate him for clearly making decisions that impact his company and the world while high. Both his ridiculous proposal to take Tesla private and his twitter takeover bid had weed/420 references. His concern for “free speech,” seems to ignore issues with harassment on Twitter and the harm caused by lies about our election. In short, in a divided country, he has pissed off a large portion of both sides.

Most SUV's are either bubbles or bricks. Tesla's are bubbles. In some areas they have become so popular that getting something different isn't a bad thing. I prefer bricks, but hey. To each his own.
Also unfortunately Elon's not exactly uncontroversial. I know some people who won't buy them because of Elon. There has also been some inconsistent service and build quality, but I think that's a little overblown. All car companies have their issues, especially on 1st generation models (Chevy Bolt, I'm looking at you).

Also issues with Musk. He is a troll... And his politics... And then you get down to his anti union practices. All that adds up to why we are getting a Mach-E rather than a Tesla.

The hate for tesla is "usually" not for the product that Tesla introduce; but rather the practices that Tesla use as a company regarding their costumers and their products. Also Tesla sometimes in some of their products seems to force reinvinting the wheel " removing all important shortcut buttons and making every thing like an app on the screen " and more.

    • @getreal7217
      @getreal7217 Год назад +1

Disagree. The practices of Tesla are precisely why customers are the most satisfied of all car owners in the industry and appreciated even by aspiringTesla owners. When Tesla removed radar while making the cars safer than ever as shown by recent safety testing in Europe, customers are happy and appreciate the boldness of Tesla when they constantly ask how can we remove an unnecessary part from the car and make the car better performing and a better value. Ultrasonic sensors are next to go and I applaud this since I am confident that the car will be better without these. Some people initially complain but then love the result. I think the hate comes from knee jerk reaction by some to Elon being rich and influential. Some people just don't like that anyone can be this. Others are inspired and realize that Musk and Tesla have earned every penny because they have changed the auto industry forever against all odds which will finally help the climate and drastically reduce car fatalities in the near future.

I think most people fear change and avoid disruption. I remember standing inside a Blockbuster in the late 90’s asking them if they were concerned about streaming movies, and they said they said the Bandwidth was the limiting factor and they could not see that changing in the future. What they did not know was after I left because I could not rent the new release, I used my TiVo to download the movie. This took several hours, and sometimes there were tech issues. While the core technology was there the infrastructure was not ready for everyone. It feels we are in a similar place with EVs.

Great video with great points! We could all use some of this critical thinking and perspective. We don’t plan to buy a Tesla due to what we think the value vs. the high cost is, but that’s entirely subjective. Costs will eventually come down and will speed up with more competition. For us the more important item is to get all ICE vehicles off the road and more EVs on the road to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Tesla deserves some recognition and appreciation for supercharging this process. Kudos for a smart, savvy and cool headed video! 👏

There is so much to unpack in your video her. 1) what brings you to distracted driving? If we can’t use our cellular phone while driving, why would you think it’s safe to record a video while driving?
    2) nobody is going to tell you that one has an “ugly car”. In particular that Americans in general like to talk behind your back, and might still feel as it being “ugly”. My dislike in Tesla is that you see them all over the Bay Area, and while the styling is OK it’s a bit boring imo.
    3) when you introduced the video and “that’s what we will be talking about”, you meant you’ , and we have to listen/enjoy your video.
    4) Yes Tesla is a pioneer in this, however it also shows in the quality and customer care that they still have a lot to improve on.

  • @IronmanV5

Quite a bit of the hate is because Tesla keeps proving people wrong and it's practices threaten their livelihoods or perks that they are used to.
For example, the short sellers. Most of the financial networks kept bringing on people like Jim Chanos who would say there was no way Tesla's could possibly survive and that it would be bankrupt by the end of the year, next year at the latest.
And online on comment boards and forums it was forums it was much the same.
We know how THAT turned out for them.
For a few too many the only way for Tesla to be succeeding is "because of fraud!".
Then you have the OG EV advocates who think people should be in goofy, ugly little clown cars with short ranges.
Cough, cough, OG Nissan Leaf, cough, cough.
The Leaf is being discontinued and the Model 3 & Y are not just the best selling EVs, they outsell all other luxury brands. And now everyone is coming out with larger, longer ranged EVs with the only short ranged EVs being compliance cars like the Mazda MX-30.
And of course you have auto journalists whose publications rely on advertising revenue and who are used to getting perks from manufacturers.
    Tesla doesn't advertise.
Watch Doug DeMuro's video "Here's How Press Cars Work" to get an idea of the perks auto journalists get from manufacturers.
And then there are the Stealerships. EVs, with their minimal maintenance, threaten one of their most profitable departments, service & maintenance. On top of that Tesla's (and Rivian & Lucid) direct sales model threatens their existence.
And finally there are the people whose fortunes and/or livelihoods depend on fossil fuel vehicles.

Mmm. I'd say the superb designers, engineers, technicians, programmers, and workers have made Tesla such a success over the past 10 years -*despite* Elon's personality disorders. Why such hate for Teslas? First, because they are, by far, the most numerous, visible, representive of EVs… and there is a lot of "hate" from pe'trolls toward EVs, period. If the fossil fools can take down the frontrunner, they can do real damage to the entire EV movement and keep "pushing" their addictive "drug." Another reason is… jealousy. Plain and simple. People know Teslas are fast, gorgeous, reliable, comfortable, clean, quiet, and thus resent that they outshine and outperform their own car, from Hondas to Ferraris. Finally, you know I love my Model 3 -although I will admit there are times when I miss my previous LEAF. What I don't love is that Tesla is refusing to cover the breakdown of components in the HV Battery Service Panel under the HV Battery and Drive Unit Warranty. I'm now in arbitration over that dispute, and we'll see what the outcome will be.

Hi, found your post after looking for your ppl model Y satin Red cause I am thinking of ppl exactly same spec. that’s coming in a month. This post got me thinking. I live in Japan and there are some constraints to EVs. Some live in apartments; charging issues. Even model Y, is beyond regular size spec. (We have many 660cc engine ‘K’ cars here - cheaper tax). Mr, Toyoda(Toyota) is worried about laying off so many people if everyone goes EVs suddenly. Japan’s energy source is mainly fossil, so in a macro scale it will not change carbon emissions, either way. It’s a difficult choice to u-turning to nuclear after 311 Fukushima incident. From what I hear from a couple of car dealer staff, EVs push is to cripple Toyota. Whatever the case, you go with what you can afford. To me, not that I dare to try 0-60(100km) in sub 4 sec., but I will not buy ICE with double the price. Back to ppl question, is ppl satin red has some color added? (Not clear right) Any color specification? After effects is more matte? Thanks

Hi Shannon. I happen to ❤️ my Mach E. It's a great vehicle. I watched this RUclips video on the screen in the Mach E after an OTA update. When I bought my ME, I expected problems and there were some. But nothing major. And just like Tesla's, they keep improving with time. I don't hate Tesla's but I'm glad I didn't get the MY. I ❤️ my satellite radio. Android Auto is ok but they just added Alexa and that's an improvement over Google. All-in-all, I'm happy with my car.
What I don't have that I like in the MY is pet mode, Tesla-cam, and camp mode. What I don't like about the MY is the screen fonts. They are too darn small for my old eyes. I prefer a few buttons and don't care for the minimalist style.
As for Tesla overall, I don't care for their service record. A minor fender-bender can take months to get repaired and sometimes they do it in very short time. Just like "a box of chocolates", you never know what you'll get except high service prices.
Even so, I don't hate Tesla's nor Tesla owners. I'm glad they made the transition to an EV.
But it's a different story when it comes to Elon Musk and the Tesla Board. Full Self Driving? Nonsense. Autopilot. Ditto. They knew it was misleading but decided to use those monikers anyway. Both are level 2 ADAS. Neither will ever be capable of being used as an automated rental car while the owner isn't using it.
Elon Musk, through his tweets, has shown himself to be an admirer of white nationalists and dictators. He can't stand to have his speech censored but doesn't have any trouble stifling the speech of others. I can see Twitter becoming the next Parler or Truth Social if he buys it.
There's one thing that I find admirable in Musk. He helped to change the automotive industry. And that's a great thing.
I bought a Tesla product before it became Tesla...solar panels for my home. I bought them from Solar City. I was mostly satisfied with them. Then Tesla took over. Mostly satisfied has turned into mostly dissatisfied. Service is terrible. My original Inverter failed a little after 10 years just as I was told when I bought the system. But it took over 6 months to get a new one installed. That loss of power cost me at least $800 in extra electricity bills. That's unacceptable. No one else would touch the system unless it was removed and they put in their own. They try to do all of their planning remotely. Calling them is next to impossible. So now I'm stuck with Tesla and their service de jour.
No. I don't hate Tesla. But I don't buy from companies I don't trust. I don't trust anything Musk says and I've had enough experience with my Tesla solar to say I don't trust the company in it's current form.
Glad you like your Tesla and I hope it stays that way.

Hey Shannon, I’m about to get a bmw I4 like you had, does it have less interior space than a model three? Because I am 6 foot five and have plenty of room in the model three

Congrats! I’m jealous, my hubby loved the i4!
I’d say they are similar. The Model 3 may be just a tad bit more spacious in the rear but not by much but the i4 does have a transmission hump so it may look smaller than what it actually is. What you lose in having a tranny hump, you gain in the i4 having a hatch rather than traditional trunk like the Model 3. Both are great EVs and you will love how the i4 drives!

I dont understand why the hate too. Its a pioneering USA Company started before Elon took ownership when the orignal 2 men created the Roadster sold the company to Elon. The Lucid CEO was working with Tesla before he left and Created Lucid. So why the hate when both companies are doing great things for the personal transportation choices you have to purchase

You’re clearly a Tesla fangirl. I knew you wouldn’t be happy with “lesser” EVs like the Mach-E and EV6 despite them being better quality than any Tesla, simply because as a Tesla fangirl you need the panache you feel Tesla brings. They’re sexy in the ether but they’re very aesthetically dated and poorly made. Once the competition catches up, and they are and will within two years, they will collectively squeeze the life out of Tesla for a number of reasons and the gouging (which is where the profits are coming from) will end. In ten years Tesla will be little more than a quaint, fondly remembered footnote in automotive history, and Elon will be working on his offspring spreadsheet.

Once they catch up to where Tesla is now..Tesla won't be there...

    • @JohnCap523
      @JohnCap523 Год назад +1

@@snate2.0 Nope, Tesla will fade into the woodwork. They can only get away with shoddy cars when there aren’t options. Now there are. Once they all ramp production to bigger numbers they’ll eat Tesla’s lunch. They have zero chance of surviving selling only $50,000+ cars of poor quality. The only reason the Lyriq, Ioniq 5, EV6, the Audis, etc already aren’t blowing them out is they don’t have the production bandwidth yet. Yet…. It’s a completely different dynamic when you have no competition and can name your price, and when the competition is bigger and with deeper pockets and can easily surpass your quality while squeezing you on price.

@@snate2.0 Another point is that most Tesla buyers are early adopter techies with substantial disposable income. This is a fragment of who the buyers will be by 2030. EVs will just be “cars” by then. People who today buy Chevy Malibus and entry level Kias, people who are not enthusiasts, they won’t care about the sexy aspect of EVs because those sexy EVs will still be at the high end of the spectrum. Chevy will probably sell more small and midsize mainstream EVs alone than all of Tesla’s models.
And let’s not forget Tesla comes in exactly last in vehicle quality.

I respect your opinion but my experience of owning the latest and greatest from different manufacturers tells me a different story. I’m not sure what the future holds as does anyone else but as of current, everyone else has major work to do to catch up. Quality control is usually what most people say but again, the worst vehicle I’ve owned was the Mach-E from Ford. Four years of owning Tesla and the most maintenance reliability I had was topping off windshield wiper fluid. Experience talks.

@@EVandChill Then you dont go anywhere. Ok, so, I will go at this a bit more softly. For a while I was an EV enthusiast. That was until I found out the industry was made up of underachievers. A gas vehicle industry who left that ratio at 33% power production and the EV industry that while the car can convert power at a 89% conversion rate they never factor out where the original power comes from which drops that to about 40%. Also the fact that the batteries explode if the lithium contacts air is a down side. Honestly Mercedes had a better idea. A EV with a gas range extender that could fit in 1/3rd of the trunk space. Personally I am about to start running LPG on my truck because of the benefits. No real wear on the engine. An almost equal power ratio to gas. Less heat. Also 2 dollars per gallon. Listen. I am not against EVs, I am against the industry not actually spending the time and energy to research new power storage which is the major problem of the type. Gas car comapnies did the same thing by being in bed with OPEC and never researching how to burn gas completely. I am a 3 year certified diesel technician and a one year automotive tech. I know the bullshit that the industry pulls. Did you know that they hobble Japanese cars so they cannot fully compete with the US market. They do it all in the main computer which is total GM BS. Anyway, I thought I would give you the TLDR version. Have fun.
