    Great video.
It's important to note about EV batteries is that industry standard warranty is up to 8 years or usually when you reach 100,000 to 120,000 miles or above (depending on manufacturer.
And I just want to ad that I still have an ICE vehicle and now own an EV but in my current ICE vehicle I have had the engine replaced. Fortunately there was a recall on the engine and I was withing 50k miles and got it replaced for free.
I used to own a Lexus LS400 and loved, loved, loved that car but both catalytic converters went out and it was going to cost me upwards of $1000 to get them both replaced or it wasn't going to pass inspection. so I traded it in for a different car.....

I love EVs. And they are way too expensive.
Yes, there are expensive ICE cars out, but I don't look at them any more.
But the EVs are still way too expensive. I don't need all that expensive stuff. I'm not a rich ... (choose any word ;-)
(I don't see expensive EVs as the worst problem ever, don't worry, I still feel good :-)
I don't want to spend more than for my last vehicle, that was 20.000. And now I'm at 40.000 when it's "cheap" ;-)
I use fuel for 8000 (in Europe) over 8 years, so I don't drive much. Electricity is not free of cost, maybe 3000 to 5000.
    Incentives are 6000.
    I'm still not at 40.000, starting from 20.000 ;-)
I'm waiting, I still have time. Time is on my side...
And I still love EVs, but I would feel squeezed like a lemon if I would buy a car for 40.000 ;-)
    No, just no :-)
Make it $, make it Euro, it does not matter. But it includes taxes.
    ----
I hope, this does not sound like a hate comment, because it really is not. I'm just continuing my life and I'm waiting for better EV prices, it does not bother me very much.
And most importantly, enjoy your life!
And when the time's right, you and I can always switch to an EV. I am waiting for it, my Imagination can almost show me how it would be, so I have time...
And in my spare time I also watch RUclips videos about EVs :-) ... to stay up to date.
... And there is no Chevy Bolt or any sibling of it in Europe. There was for a short time, but it has been more or less abandoned and it was expensive.
But I'm still fine, I'm watching out if I can see something. The size of the Bolt was perfect by the way. That's about the form factor that I want. The chinese cars... they are a bit far away with their service stations...

Valid points for sure. EV prices have come a long way but still has more room to go before truly being affordable.

As an EV driver I find charging my car at a public EVSE is akin to having a gas car with a 4 gallon tank and filling it with a syringe. That’s assuming the syringe works and when it does I dont have to wait 2 hours to use it.

Please explain how did you mange to drive 2300 miles in a month without leaving your home town. As per your math you never charged at DC fast charger.

My hubby drives 140 mi minimum each day for work and there is a ChargePoint DCFC that charges for free that he uses. That’s why we’ve been able to pack on the miles in the Rivian so quickly.

Let's pretend its pouring rain, and you have to go to the bathroom, and may want a snack. A Gas station wins every time! Sheltered from elements..check, bathroom..check, fried salty junk to eat....check, and all done within 6 minutes or less. EV chargers need the same conveniences to compete, and I don't see anything remotely close to that with EV chargers

    • @EVandChill

You make good point’s but I disagree with all of them for MY situation.
1 the cheapest EC that I can find in my country is 35.000 euro but there are ICE starting 20.000 euro. I’m 1 person buying 1 car so your point about average new car cost is irrelevant.
2 I have solar panels so charging at night will cost me money. I don’t have my own parking space next to my house and are not allow to have the charging wire crossing the street/side walk. So I have no choice then charge at a public charger with the high cost.
3 nice that you have a range of more than 200 miles but the cheap EC has not that range. (Nissan Leaf has 149 miles) The expensive EC does but then your point at number 1 is invalid that EC are cheap. Does the leaf still has that range when it is cold?
4 where I live the gas stations do smell a little so I agree with that but, We only take the snooze (There are one time use gloves) put it in the car and wait to finish. Walk inside the shop and pay. Not much touching there. O and no app necessary.
5 the price of electricity when up really high last year that if you can’t use your own solar panels it cost more to drive EC then ICE. This can go down in the future. (i hoop)
6 as long as there is no problem with the motor or battery I agree with you but when you maintain you ICE it will not cost that much.
To make it clear EC is the future but not for me now. So I have a Ford Mondeo MK5 HEV and wait to see when the price go down (around 25.000 euro) or the range of the cheap EC go up (300 miles)

I wish that companies would make combustion engines alongside EVs without fully being electric because y'know.... Some people don't like electric cars....
