I was the kind of guy thinking you rushed the decision with quitting Matt but turns out that was prolly the right decision, we can agree prep coaching isn't an exact science but this dude just keep missing and pretty badly. Feels like Matt became a full time businessman at the expense of his client, he might had successful preps in the past but the talent of his clients can't carry his errances anymore, even Nick's body can't carry it. Just feels bad for Nick cause he has 200% trust in him, we'll see If they can pull it off tho. Can u confirm wether or not he push gears a lot or is his approach moderate? Yup, same thing came up when Justin Shier was struggling toward the end of his Chicago prep. Not to say he wasn’t correct, they ended up pulling it off and looking great. But Q hit the nail on the head. “Bad gear” is starting to feel like the panic button he spams whenever he misses. The coach worship in bodybuilding needs to chill.

You know how some days you will think you look fat and other days skinny when you look exactly the same. Add in low carbs and a bunch of competition stress its hard to be accurate

Thank you for sharing this. Same experience I had with Jansen when I was an amateur. Spent 2 years in hell with the guy and his lies and constant food pushes never listening to any feedback.
Sad thing is Matt never had the balls to say he could've done something better, differently etc. Remember his "statement" at Muscle and Fitness podcast, like a bitter crybaby.

Quint came in cooked , Great Video , it is going to create awareness for this athlets to try and know their own bodies too cause relying 100% on these coaches is not working , take AJ for example , for 3 years straight he hasnt nailed the Olympia , he still placed 5th twice , Even after all the feedback from the judges , his coach still wanted to bring him bigger , like bruh , I wish you a good season Quint , see you next year , hope you come in better and make it to the MR O and stand next to your Brothers AJ and the Big Sam.
Big ramy had the same issue he kept coming in being big he only needed conditioning by the time he figured it out his body start to melt.
I really pray AJ figures it now next year , even coming in runner up to Samson will be good , cause he’s already entering the 40s and I want these big guys to be the standard for the next 5 years straight .

Damn Quint I only ever saw you on the HD podcast, I’m about to go through and watch your other vids too after seeing this. Mad respect for keeping it real and having a backbone, whether anybody agrees or not (I agree w/you), you spoke your truth openly and that alone deserves respect in this industry. Matt cost us all some incredible shows this year, all of his clients could hi have really pushed guys on stage.

Good for you….you did the right thing….some “Coaches” are LUCKY they stumbled on an Athletic who is Special, has it all and can diet while cheating, just blessed, then theses Coaches uses the SAME EVERYTHING on EVERY BODY because they received fame on the ONE Athlete they trained…you did the right thing.

Exactly! Bodybuilders rely on coaches like they are a winning ticket. Look at William Bonac. He fired Neil Hill and coached himself and won a show.

@omegaunknown766 a coach is sometimes needed during prep to make objective decisions that are difficult to make accurately when its your body.
You know how some days you will think you look fat and other days skinny when you look exactly the same.
Add in low carbs and a bunch of competition stress its hard to be accurate
