How to Correctly Turkey Hunt Smaller Properties

- So lets face it, not everyone can turkey
hunt on hundreds of acres.
Not everyone can afford or as the chance
to go out of state where you can roam
and makes a lot of mistakes during
a hunting season.
If most your turkey season is
hunting a small piece of property,
don't give up, if there's turkeys there
then you have just as good of a chance
to kill a gobbler than anyone.
However, there are things you have to
do differently since you can't be
walking and locating Gobblers.

This dude is a walking turkey encyclopedia. Love your videos!
Good luck to everybody this season!
You too
You too!
Ty buddy 😁👍
U too
I hunt a small property and have learned to stay put. Sometimes listening and watching is more important than calling. Years ago I had two toms gobbling back at me at sun up. They were with hens. I was set up at the bottom of a ridge, looking out into a farm field. After a couple hours of nothing, I decided to move to the top of the ridge. After a short midday nap, I woke up to see the two toms strutting in the exact spot I was that morning. I never did get either of those birds, but I learned a lot.
Keep putting out these awesome videos. This was one I really needed when I first started turkey hunting. I screwed up my small pieces by trying to hunt like the “Bone Collectors” lol. You’ve taught me real turkey hunting the last couple years I’ll have to say.
Thank you, Matt. I really love your videos!
Good luck this season everyone!
Thanks for the info!! Your advice is some of the best!!!
I'm just going to extend the offer to have you come hunt my 100 acres in monticello, ga. It's what we call the highway because it's long and narrow, creek runs through the middle then meets a pond before running out the back and ridges on both sides. It's great for all animals.
I’d be happy to come shoot a turkey with you!😂
This is a great point Brother Dale, I've got a little 7 acre hardwood ridge in TN. Its definitely a honey hole, 6 huge longbeards have came off it in 4 years.
My personal biggest gobbler 24.32, as well as my first double beard. So to my fellow hunter's, don't sleep on small properties they could be something special!
God Bless you my Brother & God Bless all my fellow hunter's, stay safe everyone!
Purchased the Ol Sly box call...very well made. looks great and sounds great...recommend!
Great call I got one also. Not disappointed In it
Good topic, fits my situation, although with a crossbow.
Thanks for the video love your content
Hit the like button gents. Dale bring back the intro in your videos where you do a touch of turkey talk, and then blast one and start that music up...
Great advise. Btw, using your Spring Fever signature mouth call and I can tell everyone I highly recommend it, great call.
30 acres. It took a lot of time and effort but I got my first Tom last weekend!
Thanks for all the information in your videos. First time hunting turkeys this year. Gonna use all the advice you’ve given.
Matt awesome videos, haven't seen 1 yet that I didn't learn something new about turkey hunting! Keep on doing what you do! Your calling is bang on!
Amen brother. I got one to. It’s about 25 acres. Long walk around the beaver pond. But it’s worth it. 75 percent of the time. Big hard wood ridge. Slip in around the pond it’s thick brush. Pop out go about 15 yards to my favorite turkey hunting tree. Never move. Sit there for hours. Pull them off the farm land on the other side. 👍
Right day right turkey u said it all ,that's what all new hunters need to remember
another great show
Thanks so much Matt Dale i called my first gobbler today at ten yard.
Good job Dale you are exactly right I have a couple small pieces of property to hunt myself I do the same thing works great another thing pop up a small blind brush it in in little just stay in there and wait him out he’ll come check you out sometime that day.👍
Great, great advice and good turkey hunting tips. The season here opens in about a month. Cannot wait!!!!!!
It’s all true. He knows what he’s talking about. Also, just because you don’t hear a gobble on that small piece of property doesn’t mean the Tom’s not there.
I got a few small properties that are awesome to keep up the good job like your videos
Outstanding video Dale...I have a 40 acre property and this was really helpful
Your strategies sound much like mine. Thanks for the video.
I have one of these areas. Open Land too. I have seen 5 other Turkey Hunters from time to time. One is an older guy in his late 60s who hunts out of his Deer Treestand and stays right there.
Then there are 2 pairs of guys who hunt together over there and not often.
Then there is Cynthia and me. So 6 total and ,I am not In there alot.
Calling less has increased my success!
Great info Dale...... good luck from Bama this 2021 season..... Blessings
Looks like SW Va to me. Thanks for another good one!
For sure. That’s the Good old clinch river in the background 😉
You taught me how to turkey hunt
Have 2 new 410 to play with, Steven's single, and semi
My brother's got 10 and the neighbor that has 40 give us permission we've got tons of turkeys on the opposite Ridge it's all the waiting game
Just buy listening to what u said on this video
hey brother, good advice. Any particular tips for someone with 5 acres of heavily wooded space thats almost butting up to state game land? Foot plots are hard, but theres a water source and tons of ticks. You think I should try to make it into a place that theyd like to brood or roost? thanks
Can we get a video on your ol sly box call?
i.ve killed 6 gobblers on 26 ac i got a farm this year thats 30 ac not been hunt on in about 5-6 years ive seen them that farm i can;t wait ...
Dale how will the cicada hatch this year affect the season?
Do you think four wheelers spook turkeys when your going in to hunt in the morning
Haven’t killed a turkey in Pennsylvania in years. I suck
I haven't either, you don't suck. I usually hunt archery in small spots around the city. Keep at it!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
O boy
I dont even have to watch......get a blind, set up your decoys, sit there till they come.
